According to the developers, Not-Pete appears to throw a bomb when you stand on the middle platform for more than 3 seconds. So unless they broke the code for it somehow, that part isn't RNG.

When people were saying a steamboat willie version of Cuphead would be cool, I don't think they meant this.
This game has done a single thing right: it showed us that we had NO idea how bad a game can get. I obviously haven't played it but I did watch the only playthrough that was posted on youtube and that guy literally had to cheat to even beat the game lmao
How do you even mess up THIS badly? If you had no skill in programming and followed a tutorial on how to make a basic game you would end up with something better than this

I feel like they just assumed any and all classic and vintage animations are public domain and didn't bother to check if they all actually are. I know they used Frosty the Snowman, and I know for a fact that Frosty is NOT public domain because I googled it literally just two months ago because my sister and I were curious about the legality of the Christmas specials we were watching on youtube. Even the song is still under copyright.

Since it's ripping off Cuphead, and that Porky Pig fight.. Porky Pig isn't even public domain yet. So not only is Studio MDHR gonna be coming after them for literally ripping off their tutorial design and the fact Mickey and Minnie's sprites literally traced over Cuphead's animations, along with ripping off their huds and other stuff, but also Warner Bros will also be targetting the devs for using Porky Pig. So those devs better have good lawyers

The true crime with this game is making the boss "Chicken". The Chicken is from Swing. you Sinners, an animated short where the main character, someone stealing chickens from a coop, hides in a graveyard from the police, where ghosts and demons terrorize him because they say his 'time has come'. There are SO many hellish visions in that short and they just...focus on the freaky chicken that shows up for a fraction of the time.
As someone who really loves old cartoons I hate that They apparently wanted to go for the 1940s style. When the backgrounds are clearly stock it doesn’t fit what they’re going for and it looks insanely half assed like they couldn’t bother to put the work in to make it backgrounds remotely fit. And the fact that the gun has color when everything else is black and white especially clashes like what we’re they thinking?

11:06 Not defending this game but a lot of these things you comment on are not as simple as you think. There's no magical 'hitbox' someone can place that would magically deform a UFO tractor beam to have a safe pocket underneath, making something like that is a bit more involved. Both the UFO beam and the platform would have to be implemented in a very specific way with that mechanic in mind.
As someone who uses unity, I just wanna say the fact that the hit boxes suck is even worse when you consider how easy it is to use them

I watched a highlight video of a guy playing this game to the full and its actually impossible, one of the bosses in the jungle area will move back and forth at the top of the screen and will throw ninja stars directly below him, the problem is that he does this so rapidly that you cannot dodge that at all.

Fun fact, the Pea Shooter weapon is also just taken from the tutorial weapon of Enter the Gungeon, whose name is exactly the same, and it's sprite is just a redrawn version of one of the gun's synergies.

This game feels illegal, because all of the bosses here are actually stolen from old cartoons. No joke, I recognize all of them from the cartoons they were stolen from, which are mostly Looney Tunes shorts.
I actually have a friend who is buddies with Enchanted Portals creators. From what they said, they do plan on updating and implementing patches down the line to improve the game.

Most character models are most likely cut out or COMPLETELY traced from either Fliescher, Disney, Warner, or Hannah Barbera animated shorts. Aside from the colored clip art.
To say that the characters are out of place is an understatement. But what irks me is that a lot of these feel like are put here because of the era, but most are pretty much far apart from each other by a decade or two. Include the colored clip art assets, and it can drive any Vintage era nerd insane.
This game is an equivalent to buying bootleg toys for Christmas. Or those totally not at all copyright stolen IP driven movies straight to DVD.
This makes Enchanted Portals look like a goddamn masterpiece. That one at least had _some_ effort
