- Bradley Walsh hosts as the Sensational Six come together to take on celebrities Jo Brand, Kirsty Gallacher, Rachel Riley, Dion Dublin and Gareth Malone... but can any of the stars Beat the Chasers?
From the Celebrity Special that aired 19 January 2024
That explosion of emotion from Rachel was unexpected and awesome!
8:37! Awesome stuff :)
I love how delighted she was 😄
She wasn’t greedy, she played her game well and came out with a huge amount of money which she was happy about - good on her!
It wouldn’t matter if she was greedy it was all going to charity anyhow.
@@harleyjo4875 It does matter. If she had gone for a higher amount and lost, her charity wouldn't have received anything. She played it smart, and sought a goal that was obtainable.
I love how Mark said C for the sunshine vitamin, I feel like everyone knows that the sun provides vitamin D
Technically, the sun doesn't provide vitamin D, it lets your body produce it. But yeah, everyone should know that. Stress under time constraint can make you do silly things though.
Oranges are often associated with sunshine, and vitamin C. I can see how he got there under pressure.
Sunny D mate lol.
He was probably thinking of the old Sunny D drink, which contained vitamin C. I instinctively thought of the same thing.
@@tmbsilver1313mate I haven’t had that in years they 100% have to have it in my local co-op (only shop by mine open until 11pm) 🤣🤣
Her astonishment and joy at the end is SO lovely, so very very sweet, actually made me nearly cry haha
Yeah it was pretty tight.
There were ninjas cutting onions here too!
Same ❤ Rachel (and Susie)
You can see the exact point she remembers she’s on the tv after the shock and excitement of the win
I was at the filming of this in March. She was nervous as hell during the whole thing but well done, Rachel!
That really came across and she is very experienced so I was surprised:)
I was there too, a few rows up to the right of where they enter :)
What happened to the news reader and steven mangan though?
It must have been the pressures of everyone's expectations on her because she seems invincible on Countdown.
I’m Spartacus
Yeah, even in this clip, she was frowning almost all the way through it.
D'youknow what, it is a bizarre sight for me, seeing Rachel Riley outside of a quiz show that isn't 8 of 10 does countdown. And im glad she beat the chasers. So glad.😊
what about countdown
4th time beating those "slackers"...😹😹😹
@@markylon they don't watch it - unless there's jokes and bright lights, they don't understand it. They most likely don't even realise Countdown is its own thing.
@@sarcasticstartrek7719 actually I'm in a different country, we don't get the regular countdown, for some reason, one of our networks decided to pick up 8 out of 10 cats does then, several years later, 8 out 10, I'm only familiar with the original show through anecdotes from Susie or Rachel and any time Jimmy makes Carol jokes at Rachel's expense
@@sarcasticstartrek7719 but uhm, thank you for making assumptions and belittling my intelligence by comparing my attention span to that of a toddler.
She beat the chase twice and now she’s beaten the chasers, is there no end to her talent? 😊
Dancing? ;-)
I would like her to beat me
@@conniebenny LMAO ...first thing I thought of.....

@@conniebenny
She wasn't great on Richard Osman's House Of Games
As a contestant, sadly not a winner, on the Dutch version.of this game, i know the pressure you feel on the clock. Very well done and truly deserved.
There's a Dutch version of this? "And here dey come de Chashersh: De Beest! De Foxen! De Menaas! De one what looksh like a round Queen Beatrix! De Sinaasappelman! 🍊 De Dyke Destroyer!"
@@liamwalsh4008 This is such an underrated comment. 10 stroop waffles out of 3 wooden cloggs.
@@liamwalsh4008idiot
The Dutch version aye? So no money is on offer when you win?
How interesting! What was the experience like?
Rachel Riley is enchantingly delightful.
...for a Nazi.
@@aneng64 She's a Nazi? Riley? Oops! I meant really.
When she realised she’s won. Cute as it gets!
She’s absolutely gorgeous !
Not as hot as she used to be but still looking good for someone approaching 40.
Even my old man who is 82 says that, but has she been seen without fakeup?...
@@larey12 She's approaching 40 now? :O. I'm sure count down women get old twice as fast as the rest of us lol
@@smithers4420 - Have to say that Carol Vorderman looks pretty damn good for 102.
@@larey12 Yeah,,, she has a new career; Stunt double for the Michelin Man.
It is absolutely impossible NOT to love Rachel. What a lovely human being.
She pisses me off that she is so perfect in every bloody way that you can't dislike her... I like to imagine that she's a real piece of work when the cameras aren't on her 😂
Another celebrity happy with covid lockdowns and restriction of freedoms. Just one more naive smart person.
She left her husband 😂😂
To hear her talking about Jeremy corbin like a card carrying nazi was pretty infuriating
She’s a massive man United fan, as am I so that’s fine with me, but if you want to knock her down a little you could use that 😂
Bless her, she's so nervous but she's gorgeous as ever
A Guy ,on here, was at the recording and, you're right,he saif that she was extremely nervous.
@@Isleofskye You're literally quoting what another commenter said, how do you know he's not lying?
@@CB-xr1eg That comment could apply to, virtually, anything and, as you said,I quoted him, which makes it clear it was his opinion so any viewers can judge whether they believe him.
It's not like me, for example, saying "Fred is NOT well because Tom has seen him and said so" as opposed to "Fres is not well ACCORDING to Tom, who has seen him! See the difference?
@@Isleofskye You said "you're right", implying that she was indeed nervous, a fact. I guess what you really meant was "you're right that she was observed to be nervous" ... but it was expressed in such a way that implied the former in normal English structure.
@@natdenchfield8061 Yes. you're right.
She's such a stunning & wonderful lady, and here she shows her true emotions, what a great sight to see ❤
She had some difficult questions. It was impressive how she knew the answers and stayed composed.
Smart, beautiful and nice... I love Rachel!
simp & cuck
Thanks for posting this I recorded it but I went out for 10 minutes I didn't watch this part and I've been looming for this for 2-3 weeks
She absolutely blitzed that. Genuinely smart.
Intelligent but not smart should have gone for 30 thousand pounds it was only 2 extra seconds for chasing fools
@@sebastiananthony5442u BIG fool
@@sebastiananthony5442thank you captain hindsight
Some of the questions in the beginning were ridiculous, well done Rachel.
8:03 had me laughing. Much like how an irritated wife corrects her husband.
It was a pretty easy question
I was there that day, was a good show, its free to go so sign up people and experience it
Great stuff, good to watch this as i fell asleep when it was on and i love Rachel
So happy for Rachel, shes a true national treasure in the making!
MBE. Bloody marvellous. A good pick at last.
Seeing Rachels excitement is purely wonderful.
she's a complete delight
I’m pretty sure this was recorded on a Sunday as Rachel was on Sunday Brunch on CH4 and they were knocking back Drinks 🍸 and then she said ‘What am I doing, I’m going to record Beat the chasers next’ lol
When the contestant gets asked which is the coldest season and the chasers get asked what Dr Barnardo's first name was, I can't help thinking that the difficulty levels are somewhat biased in the contestant's favour!
But there were 3 of them against her.
@@mcgoverg1I always think they have the questions a bit easier for the celebrity contestants so there’s a better chance they’ll win some money for their charity.
Yeah, absolute joke. I don't think she even got any proper quizzing questions
and yet the chaser got vitamin D wrong. Seemed like a "gimme" question right there. Maybe there's just a list of questions, and whoever gets them gets them.
But the sunshine vitamin is obviously D for most people and Mark got it wrong
4:30 - It is a little mean. First ATM was in 1967, and the devaluation of the pound happened in the early 1970s. Of course it would make no sense to have a ten quid limit after that, but in 1967, ten quid was worth roughly 200 pounds today.
If we look at inflation from the first ATM in June 1967 (a few months before Wilson devalued the pound) to a decade later in June 1976 (pretty much exactly when the pound hit its low against the dollar), prices increased by a factor of about 2.6. That's a lot less than the factor a 5 difference between the correct answer and Rachel's guess. £50 was still a lot of money after the devaluation in the early 70's.
@@thomasdalton1508 Today the MAXIMUM you can take out is still a lot. Very few people ever take out the MAXIMUM amount they can.
@@thomasdalton1508 Ladies & Gentlemen, we have a complete nerd in the comment section.

My first ATM card in about 78 did indeed have a £10 limit. In fact, it was £10 or nothing 😊.
What a Gem.
The format doesn't really make much sense - having more chasers playing doesn't necessarily make them quicker, because the main thing that ticks down the clock is the host reading the questions, not the answering. That being said, Rachel did great. Beautiful and so happy with herself.
The advantage more comes in the wider range of knowledge multiple people have compared to just one
She was genuinely nervous ❤
Super easy questions for the most part, but still a thorough trouncing.
Stunning girl xxxx
WOW😇 she could definitely be a chaser!
Rachel is a goddess!!!
Let’s face it, the difference of 38 to 40 seconds for the difference of £10k in the prize pot, should have gone for the £30k in my opinion
That extra chaser can make a lot of difference, though.
33% more jeopardy with an extra chaser, but 50% more reward.
Only 1 chaser can answer at once, so I wouldn’t even say 33% more jeopardy, as their knowledge bases will overlap a lot, so probably a lot less than 33% additional risk to add a chaser
@@Chrissaces1 Yeah I agree, and 2 seconds could be critical, but she still had a huge margin of safety.
I'd understand staying under a certain amount to duck a specific chaser, but that wasn't the case either. She underplayed her hand.
I've always loved watching Rachel on "Countdown". Obviously she's beautiful, but she's also quite brilliant. And here on "Chasers" she again proves it.
Rachel is so good when it is necessary to take a guess. All the first questions were guess questions. I have seen her do this in the Chase before.
Not so good when guessing the cash point question was she?
@@CB-xr1eg Are you a Corbynite?
@@FedericoDLP Wtf? Why bring politics into it? Are you American?🙄
@@CB-xr1eg I asked you a simple question: Are you a Corbynite, then I will know who I am talking to.
@@FedericoDLP As far as that question goes, I have the right to remain silent, and I'm exercising that right.😐
8:35 Her reaction. So wonderful.
well done Girl
she was on the chase socceraid special season 9
"which is the coldest season" seriously? 😂
Please More "Beat The Chasers" !!!
I know this is a celebrity version … but that was so easy
BEAUTIFUL maid .....stunning
She was also on Catchphrase and showed herself to be smarter than the others.
Congratulations to rachel for beating the chasers
Rachel is always a class act! Bravo on the win for the children!
Good ol' schmanny fella
She's very pretty
She is brilliant. And adorable
I like Rachel lovely girl xx
3:23 - Rachel, being a great mathematician on her feet, PLUS using her logic and sense of how people function in society these days - that was a great educated guess! I hadn't even thought of the "asleep" aspect ... and so I guess that when people are awake - active and very keen people probably check their phone every 4 /5/ 6 minutes or even 7 / 8, so that bumps it up to 12? Great thinking by Rachel, especially under the lights and cameras while she's being tested!
Yesssssss Rachel killed it
" that money will be great for the kids.. The charity kids" hmm.. 😂
Now I wanna see Rachel Riley vs Mark “the beast” Labbet in a maths contest.
she was on the celebrity chase twice
Do you know what would of been funny if the 1st offer was 30 seconds
I think it’s impossible not to love Rachel Riley, she such an amazing humble woman
💖💜✨ Rachel.
She's always been my free pass!
Gosh....shes gorgeous and pretty with brains!! How rare is that!?
Rachel ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Seriously? What's the coldest season of the year?
You know she went to Oxford right? Not BBC-playschool
God, she's a lovely young woman. 🙂
i love you Rachel, but I knew the Brussels statue lol
But to be fair, all the viewers of this knew at least one of the answers. I would have got one less right than her while sitting comfortably at home. Up there in the center of attention, maybe I would have got none right. My brain would have looked around and said 'nope, I'm out. I'll leave you with basic motor function'
Guess why I watch countdown.
You just have to love Rachel for what a person she is... 😀
Rachel is an unusual mix of extremely hot and extremely smart. She’s awesome.
the questions to the chasers seemed to take a lot longer to read out than Rachels, i doubt its been manipulated for charity purposes thats just my takeaway
Your takeaway is wrong.
Rachel's questions were so easy
woah I've never seen Rachel show that much emotion
If anyone could beat the chasers, Rachel Riley could.
Notice how at 4:23, Brad says "Correct answer is?" When he should've asked if 'c' WAS the correct answer. Could be that it's all pre-determined or that he just knew the answer since he's so old (sorry Bradley)
i got every question correct except for the coldest season. i couldve sworn the answer was ice salt?
Rachal Riley. Living proof that beauty is only skin deep.
Extremely attractive and intelligent.
Brilliant lady.
The Brits love a game show 😅
@gbxr1eg it was a spelling mistake as if you didn't know it.
The dark destroyer is wrong. Barclays Enfield cash machine was operational in 1966 - though Reg arney was the first person to be photographed using it the next year.
She's just the brightest ray of sunshine anywhere on Earth. Good onya, Rachel.
She can do no wrong. Except dance. Other than that she's perfect in every single other possible way.
she had ridiculously easy questions
They always make them easier for charity shows.
Spinoff of The Chase?
Why is Rachel looking like Catherine Ryan here???😂😂😂😂
She played it on second easiest mode.
Rachel is a lovely woman
No she isn't, she cheated on her husband.
11/10 🥵🔥🔥
Rachel looks so different to when she was doing 8 out of 10 cats do countdown?
When that show started she was 25, now she's 38, it is the way of things
She’s aged, like everyone does
I mean, Riley is reknown for being intelligent, so never good to bet against her.
She won with 21 seconds on her clock just so she knows it is called “beat the chasers” not “intimate the chasers”
She is an awesome human
Rachel Riley is just so beautiful. What a catch.
I haven't watched TV for years so I'm guessing this is the game's new format,
Why is it that people change things when it is perfectly ok as it is? I much prefer the original .
She's so lovely. I knew she could have gotten that extra 10k for an extra 2 seconds. That seemed worth the leap.

Beautiful.
is winter only the coldest season in the northern hemisphere???
?? No, winter happens outside the tropics and at opposite times of the year, the tropics just have a wet and dry season.
