The king shouldn’t have jumped to conclusions.

Huh interesting. This probably the first version I've heard of Dionysus requesting Theseus to abandon Ariadne. In other stories it's either Theseus abandons her or Athena makes the request.
Yes this is new to me too, he is more often depicted as leaving on his own and not in a favorable light for doing so...
why would Athena ask for that?
@@jhoangelaldana3221 This story takes place during early Athens. Athena is the patron Goddess of Athens, Theseus is the son of the former King and due to his father's death was next in line for the throne. Athena convinced Theseus that Ariadne was a distraction and that his main loyalty should lie in Athens.
@@ancientking224 wow the Gods They really force you into very difficult things .the poor girl stranded on a desert island although in my honest opinion I like Dionysus's version since it makes Athena look like an entity that forces you to detach yourself from the people you love the most You love, simply because he orders you to, in fact, that reminds me of the Percy Jackson saga in which Athena forces the protagonist to forget the friendship he has with his friends Annabeth and Groover Although in the end the union overcomes all adversity and admits that it was wrong ...
@@jhoangelaldana3221 the gods are not mortal and they care not for mortal affairs. They only care or remember mortals when they need power or help. Athena cares more for Athens as a whole rather than 1 person because Athens worships her and gives her power
Jeez, the king really had no patience lol
I never heard this version where Dionysus ask Theseus to leave Ariadne, is generally Athena who tells him that or he just leaves Ariadne in the isle because he doesn't love her (or is just an idiot). Dionysus later finds Ariadne and married her and Theseus forgot that the white sails in the isle with Ariadne who was washing them.
Actually that it the correct part that people believed from all the versions of it. Dionysus fells in love with her and takes her away from Theseus and Theseus just accepts it and leave the island without going against him though he could.
This is the version of the story that I first heard
@@Tekmirion He could never have gone against a god
@@brucejedilee5290 He was a descendant (son) of God (Poseidon) ofcourse he could like many other heroes did but it seems that he didnt want to or respected the God or just accepted to let her go to God Dionysus. Maby another script enlighten us about how the story went at the island when this happened but for the moment i personally havent found any details until now.
Dinoy"sus"
I like how he cares and sits down to learn more about Greek mythology (thx for making vids with my countries mythology 😃)
Never forgot the first time I heard this story in class. I went to the Library and found more books on Mythology📖📚
Now here Iam. Thanks guys your videos & stories are my favorites 🗻🏛⛰
This is the part we’ve all been waiting for. 🤩
I love how Poseidon's sons have 'sea' in their names when you say it! Perseus, Theseus
Perseus is Zeus’ son not Poseidon.
susseus
Perseus is Zeus’s son
I think you mistakes Perseus for Percy jackson
They secretly have "Zeus" hidden in there name
This is going to be super awesome can’t wait love it more great stories
Is it weird that I have a headcanon where the virgins just live and marry the minotaur instead?
"You slept with the virgins?!?!"
"Yes. What was I supposed to do with them?"
"..."
There are stories where the that happens.
Or at least as he let’s them live.
It depends on how they write him.
@@J1P2K So it's possible.
I absolutely love your content ❤️
Can't wait!!! October the Trojan War Saga Concludes!!!
💛 all your video's mate 👍.
Out of all of them it had to be Dionysus one of the least respected gods due to his psychopathic nature as a result of being resurrected after a brutal death at the hands of the titans.
In other versions he simply just abandon Ariadne and then proceeded to marry her sister AND lied about how she died.
There was also a theory that he didn't change the ships sail color on purpose...
I am literally learning about this in school rn
One novel has Theseus 😮dumping Ariadne 😢for an Amazon war queen or Helen of Troy.
This is amazing
Dionysus really said hold up 🧐
So, Theseus volunteered as tribute?
The Minotaur didn’t use an axe💀 he is a beast.
Good video ⚔️
and then the hunger games were born with the minotuar games
😂
"The labyrinth was dark and scary..."
Great writing 😒
Maybe Minotaur metaphor for Greek debt.
Crete did have a bill cult, and the palace at Knossos was very maze like. Not saying there was a half human half bull monster, but I wonder how much was based on some sort of ancient human sacrifice ritual
Welcome home Theseus
If Ariadne was indeed struck by one of Eros's arrows, then I guess I don't feel too bad that they didn't become a couple because that's artificial love...
This is what the hunger games is based on.
And , as is a recurring theme with greek myth, Medea's predition that Thesues would be the cause of his fathers death came true
Zeus was so harsh when he gave rewards and had so unjustifiable
what Crete did might have been the inspiration of The Hunger Games. i read the book and watched the movie and it's sequel.
the story of Theseus and Spartacus is the reason we have our greatest hero in literature: The Hunger Games Monkingjay Katniss Everdeen
This is nothing like the movie...
I like the star fall version much better
In the hades game Theseus and the minotaur became friends
pefect example of an ok life
This is worse than the Version I heard in school 😢
I heard he was soposed to be exiled
the Minotaur's labyrinth looks more like Subterranean Catacombs & the Minotaur never had an Axe.
I though there was sons of the Minotaurs😮
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Zeus your son has returned i bring destruction of olympus!
They should make a video to a video
I wonder why there is so much tragedy in greek mythos
Fun fact Heracles met Theseus for a second time in the underworld because he and his brother thought it was a good idea to kidnap Persephone the goddess of the underworld daughter of Demeter who will made anyone who took her daughter to miserable death and wife to hades
Actually theseus killed the Minotaur by Going behind it and Strangled it
BRING BACK ARTHURIAN LEGENDS, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
Those are my favorite.
❤⚔🐂
Portland, JAMAICA in the Building!!
The Real Father of Theseus, is Poseidon, not Aegeus, making Theseus a demigod, a hybrid between a Human, and a god.
I wonder what actually happened because we all know it wasn't an actual half man half bull.
what was it?
the minotaur is a dilf

The Minotaur really is the beast in the labyrinth of your soul…
It needs sacrifice or slaying. You better have a reliable piece of string with you to find back from the abyss!
