Levels MUST be up to 45ng to 50ng for symptoms to fade away . 60ng to 80ng is optimal ! Most folks with levels of 29ng is very symptomatic due to it being way to low !

I had read many books and watched a bunch of videos on the subject. I finally got my doctor to test me and I was 19ng which is low. She put me on only 1k Vit d per day. From my research I found out that it would take me perhaps 5 years or maybe never to reach my goal of 50ng with that dosage. It turns out that the body is very capable of using 20% per month of your Vit D stores. So I upped my dose to 2k and got tested after two months. There was only a small improvement.
Bumped it to 5k with Vit K2. Finally I started to notice more energy and overall well being. I got tested and was now at 34ng.
I reset my goal for 60 to 80ng. So I did two loading doses of 50k with vit k2 and followed that with 10k per day with K2.
I hit 54ng and it looks like I am on my way to my new goal.
I have more energy, no flu this winter or colds. I recommend taking vitamins with food. Once I hit my new goal I will probably drop down to a maint dose of 5K Vit D per day or 50k once a week.

    • @dalesplitstone6276

If you think there is no upper limit, you were not paying attention. For some people the upper limit is a blood serum D level of 150ng/ml, for others it is 220ng/ml.
To exceed these upper limits, a person would have to take at least 300,000 IU/day of D3 supplement.
Having stated this, taking excessive amounts of vitamin D3 can deplete magnesium, so anybody taking more than 4000 IU/day should be taking at lease 425 mg of magnesium, definitely not magnesium oxide, preferably magnesium glycinate or magnesium citrate.
Additionally, anybody taking more than 10,000 IU/day of D3 should be taking K2, preferably 100 mcg of K2-MK7 for every 10,000 IU of D3.
It does not hurt to take magnesium and K2 even if you are not supplementing D3. Indeed, being magnesium deficient can cause vitamin D deficiency, even if you are getting adequate amounts of D.
I found that I can maintain a blod serum D level of 70ng/ml with 5000 IU/day a D3. My target is 80ng/ml so I take 67000 IU/week. I take a daily multivitamin containing 1000 IU of D3, and 12 capsules each containing 5000 IU D3 plus 100 mcg of K2-MK7 each week. I take one capsule on Mondays and Fridays, and two capsules per day every other day of the week.

Hey you are severely deficient so what you need is what the vitamin d professionals call the hammer. The hammer simply means hammering the deficiency by taking 50 000 iu vitamin d3 a week for 4 weeks then after a month you take 10 000 iu a day for two months then go get tested, otherwise you will spend years to get your vitamin d up to normal as your level is way too low. Your doctor will confirm this if you ask. You will be able to get High-dosage vitamin d3 supplements from any Chemist .You have to get your vitamin d level to 70, as the normal range is 70 to 100.
