Road Team Reviews: Lane Stadium - Virginia Tech

- This Week 7 matchup had all the components of a showtime game: ACC Coastal division implications, a Heisman trophy finalist, a Biletnikoff winner… and not to mention one of the greatest entrances in college football, all in the backdrop of Lane Stadium: home of the Virginia Tech Hokies. This experience was definitely one to remember, but as far as the game… well not so much. We hope you enjoy this video and review as much as we enjoyed our time in Blacksburg, VA!

The only things that would have made your visit even better: a competitive team performance, and a 7PM start time. Enter Sandman at night is an experience unto itself. Glad you got to see the best place on earth! GO HOKIES!
We’re hoping to experience it one day!
@@RoadTeamReviews September 22nd vs West Va!!
Nothing beats a night game at Lane Stadium. Go Hokies!!!
Yep, or a Thursday night game, they are pretty wild usually! GO HOKIES!!!!
Gotta come to vs Clemson this year gonna be a night game and we’re back!! GO HOKIES
Great unbiased opinions… been a Hokie my whole life, all 36 years of it and can’t imagine not bleeding maroon and orAnge… going to away games really makes you appreciate how special what we have here in BLACKSBURG is… you ever wanna come back and hunt deer turkeys or fish give me a shout!
Appreciate that! Might have to take you up on some fishing, heard smallmouth fishing is great up that way!
Great review! You guys are constantly evolving upward!👍 Keep it going!
Great video! Y’all mentioned how the lower wall is plain concrete and not hokie stone - this was actually done on purpose for player safety because when players run out of bounds they could potentially run into the wall and hokie stone would be much more dangerous than a smooth wall
I came here to say the same thing. It’s been explored, but it’s player safety that’s the top priority.
I’ve always wondered if they could paint it.
Thanks for visiting Virginia Tech! Glad you had a good time. Go Hokies!!
Thank you for checking out our video! We can’t wait to go back for a night game!
@@RoadTeamReviews if you can catch a night game that starts before the sun sets, go up to the highest seats in the south endzone and check out the view of the Virginia countryside as the sun goes down. It is one of my favorite things about Lane Stadium. Your videos make me want to go check out some VT away games so I could see other stadiums. Happy stadium travels!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Loved the review. Hope you guys keep it up. Adding Lane Stadium to my bucket list for sure.
Thank you! We have big plans for new content coming up. We’re only going up from here! - Nate
Glad to see you guys living your dream, you’re killing it! Keep it up!
Thank you, it means a lot! We appreciate your support
First time I've seen your channel, and being a VT alum, appreciated your thoughts. Gotta catch up with your other reviews!
Thank you so much! We’re glad you found this video and our channel! It’s comments like this that motivate us to continue our journey visiting these stadiums and reaching out to even more fan bases!
Keep these videos coming. Thank you guys for the reviews. Do a Tennessee Vols game and then Georgia bulldog game maybe next year sometime?
Thank you so much! We should have some new reviews up very soon! Our plan is to visit some BIG stadiums this fall, including Neyland!
Feel like you guys touched on it but the flow of the stadium could go into the structure. If you can’t get to the beer that can hurt! Loved the video, hopefully I can get up there one day!
Awesome video. Great job guys!!!
You’re the man Greg
Great review guys!
Much appreciated!
great video
Fun fact, VT is the only university that I know of that has two separate marching bands! The original one being the corp of cadets band called the Hightie Tighties and the newer more contemporary band that was founded in the 70s, the Marching Virginians which anyone in the university can be a part of! I find it pretty neat
Very neat fact indeed, thank you for sharing!
Seth Green and Seth MacFarlane are honorary Hokies! 🦃
You mentioned the painting of the end zones. They did use to paint them but it was killing the grass to much and there were some environmental concerns. So that is why they shifted to just painting the name in the middle.
Great comment! And makes sense, might be something we'll have to consider and look into for future reviews!
That's the reason Fuente was fired. Glad we got Pry now.
Hopefully y'all got your guy and he can get y'all back on track. Would like to see y'all being an ACC championship contender again! - Nate
@@RoadTeamReviewsyeah Nate, alot more energy from Hokie Nation. The Alumnus is happy and all in, along with donors and some key supportive coaches hires helped. I think we're on the right track.
@@RoadTeamReviews also, VT doesn't have and team National Championships.. But plenty of individual National Championship in Track and Field, one in Wrestling, Gymnastics, Bass Fishing, etc.
I was at that game hopefully we can beat them next season since they don't got Kenny Pickett let's go hokies
Looks like they're losing Jordan Addison too, since he'll be transferring.
you should come to NC State! I dare say the atmosphere of Carter Finley Stadium could rival Virginia Tech’s (especially when we’re winning the game)
We may have made a trip there last fall, and might be working on something! 👀
Hi I’m thinking of buying tickets to watch my wahoos play at vt, how do you buy tickets in the away team side so we are with other wahoo fans
It seems away fans tend to sit in the south east section/corner of the stadium. We mainly use Vivid Seats and SeatGeek to buy tickets. Both have good seating chart features to find those sections!
You don’t, stay in Charlottesville! Just kidding, we would love to have you hear for another butt whoopin! GO HOKIES!
one thing you missed in history/traditions is the lunch pail.
Good catch! Very iconic.
2 things. You went there the first year they started selling beer stadium wide so they were on a learning curve that hopefully they get worked out. Secondly....you don't go to Lane Stadium and make a review without mentioning the turkey legs. Every televised game makes a reference to the turkey legs whether the broadcasters chose to get one or not.
Makes sense, the growing pains for selling beer for the first time were definitely apparent haha we'll make sure to try the famed Va Tech turkey legs next time!
So the national championship thing is for team sports. VT I think had a wrestler win a national championship. Also they recently won the rugby national championship.
Other than that great video. Out of all the ACC stadiums I’ve been to Lane is definitely my favorite.
The real question is when are we going to see Clemson and UofSC
One of them is on deck, and will be dropping soon! 😎
WVU had 19 national championships in rifle . Alabama of guns ..
🤣😂😂
Hey the actually Name of the university is Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, or just Virginia Tech for short not “Virginia Tech University” as an alumni that’s just sounds and looks awful.
Yeah that’s a mouthful 😅
@@RoadTeamReviews that's what she sa... nevermind.
@@KingLeoVT … 🤣
There is no Virginia Tech University. :-)
