  • We got our thrust vectoring units hooked up and wow! They truly make the MiG-29 even more special of an aircraft that we can't wait to get out and fly more. Links below:

    Happy to see you enjoying the MiG and the additional capabilities that VT offers!
    Personally though, I would suggest to mix the nozzles so you have control over the 3 axis (roll, pitch, yaw) and not just pitch and yaw... which is perfectly possible and easy enough with this VT kit. And please, consider moving that battery back to the middle tray. Having such a nose heavy jet defeats in great measure the purpose of adding vectored thrust.
    I can tell from the trim on the stabs that the plane is very nose heavy... handling gets much better with a more neutral setup, hope that helps! :)

    Hello , Please help me. I have a MIG 29 80mm aircraft. I have 5000 mAh batteries and I have a problem with the blue battery handle. It is very hot and can cause the plane to burn. What is the problem to know that I only work on one fan because the first battery is empty of charge and the other is fully loaded. Is this the cause of the problem or No? Thank you

  • @janmb
    @janmb Před 3 lety +2

    The SU will most likely forever be superior post stall compared to pretty much any other model is put out on the market, but the MiG won't be far behind. It will do full 3D post stall beautifully once dialed in properly. The increased inertia is an advantage for many maneuvers, but all of this is 100% dependent of getting rid of the massive nose heavy CG. 95% of the weight you "feel" as a pilot comes for CG, not the actual weight of the model. Get the CG right and she too will feel light as a feather.
    For vectoring to really matter, you need to go slower though. Those high speed, abrupt pulls she does every bit as well without vectoring at all. At those speeds, vectoring has almost zero authority and the flight surfaces have tons.
    For my part, I'm definitely no 3D pilot as such, but definitely looking forward to seeing what Airguardian will pull off with vectoring on his MiG. I'm installing mine 95% for the sake of authority during slow high alpha, as well as to get the thrust line neutral in the first place.
    Any idea when we might see the upgraded elevators? It seems more or less confirmed by this point that it is in work, so might just hold off on putting in the effort of glassing my elevators and wait for the upgrades.

  • @charlesradford3811
    @charlesradford3811 Před 3 lety

    James, you had me confused...you kept saying the vector nozzles were Y'd to the "roll" control. That didn't make sense, but watching I think you had them Y'd to the rudder...the "yaw" control.

    • @Airguardian
      @Airguardian Před 3 lety

      With this kit you can mix them for roll, pitch and yaw, and use them in the 3 axis which is the ideal scenario. You need many channels to do that properly though, but it's worth it.

    • @leonmare8847
      @leonmare8847 Před 3 lety

      @@Airguardian Hi James: As a matter of accuracy I agree with Charles above...fyi you keep mentioning that you've setup the TV nozzles in "Roll" (but they move with rudder input) when you should say "Yaw",,,as they're wired into the Rudders. Rudders are for Yaw.

    Hello , I have a 5000 mah battery and I have a futaba control dies. How do I know how to read the battery or the battery percentage in the remote screen and how long is the battery used. Can it last up to 10 minutes? .. help me plese ❤️

    • @MotionRC
      @MotionRC  Před 2 lety

      Not entirely sure what you mean, but unless you have a receiver that capable of telemetry, you won't know your battery percentage via your transmitter. This model in the video takes 2 5000mAh LiPo batteries and will last about 3 minutes
