    Yes Im a balcony gardener and JMs are great for me! Are there Jms you especially recommend for shaded balconies? Us urban growers would love to know❤

      If we're talking full shade all day, then I'd select the reticulated varieties that don't have red colours in them, or the variegated types with white. I mean, shade is one thing but shade that still is bright is another thing. Bright shade, from reflected sources of light or due to high overhead shade from trees, balconies etc. is different because it's still fairly light. In this scenario, I'd be comfortable using many different types. Otherwise, heavy shading and not much reflected light, stick with the most sensitive to light varieties available.

      @@SimplyJapaneseMaplesgood point! How about bright shade? I get 2 hours of direct morning sun against white brick, then the balcony above me shades me for the rest of the time. But we’re protected from wind and rain which is great!
