As for the fuel problem: you said it was fine on straights and problematic in corners. I think that the fuel in the fuel tank moves to one side while in a drift and the fuel pump doesnt suck it up because it is not underneath it. I think you should get a modified fuel tank, which has some kind of foam in it and it concentrates the fuel around the fuel pump so it can constantly suck up fuel. Just a suggestion, not expert advice 😂

Here is the problem with power in side:
When you are drifting fuel is going everywhere in fuel tank and fuel pump is not sucking fuel so it runs poor and you lose power. To solve this problem you need to buy a small tank and put it back than fuel from main tank is pushed in smaller tank than in hoses and engine
It will have fuel always and you will not have problem going sideways.

newer cars do not have that problem as long as they are not almost empty because they have expandable fuel tanks so that it is always full and that doesn't happen, those are the only ones I worked on. But theoretically, speaking wouldn't keeping the fuel tank full resolve the issue? let's say you don't want to keep it full for weight reduction, couldn't you just put a smaller gas tank? One more note I've seen some of the newer cars have the pump in a smaller tank so that tank is always full because it keeps sucking fuel from the bigger tank that it is sitting in which is basically what you explained. By newer cars I mean newer than the Miata.
When you hit the corner if you are low on petrol, all petrol goes to corner of fuel tank. This is why you losing fuel in corners. Put sponge in reservoir it prevent petrol to go on one side in corners. ❤️ From Serbia!
