I have myself seen him bowl plenty of slower balls especially in the noughties. But he might not have done it in the nineties
The best slow ball in Pakistan cricket was bowled by Aaqib Javed to Greatbatch in 1992WC. The scariest change of pace was Andy Roberts who had a regular bouncer at 135-140 kph and a full pace one at 150ish :)

Ambrose bowled Ian Healy with a classic slow ball as well. There's billions like me who rate that as the finest exhibition of delivering a slower as well. He was a perfect fast bowler with pace, bounce, skill, intimidating look.

I liked the great cricketers discussing pure technical aspects of the game. Younger generation can learn a lot from such talks. I simply loved the show. Expecting many more such shows.
I have also faced 145+ ball in indoor facility and i can tell u Malik is 100 percent right u have time less than the time in which u blink your eye. One good thing about express pace is that if ur bat hits it in middle it will go to boundry with double the speed
Is that due to lack of exposure or due to human limitation ? Like for new spinners it is hard to face them but they become easy to play after one gains experience.

There is a reason why only 2-3 bowlers in the world can consistently bowl 150 kph+ even though it is around 7% more than 140. Human beings have certain limits, and anything above a certain throshold becomes very difficult

150 plus is natural which is hard to play practice make batsman but to pkk look at 140-150 plus swing us impossible and ended caught behind lbw or get bowled thus is the art that Pakistan bowlers are excellent who swing both ways no other r team in the world has such biwlers

Franklyn Stephenson was a freak talent with the best slower ball I've ever seen..the number of top class guys who would duck and get hit on the back ,head ,get bowled or lbw was freaky.
One yard of extra pace at around 90mph is approximately 5mph.
Majid Khan averaged over 50 in test matches and World Cups opening versus Andy Roberts, Garner, Croft and Holdings in 9 matches with 7 of these in West Indies and England (only 34 in 2 tests in Pakistan). And over 50 against Lillee and Thomson opening with all test matches and World Cup in Australia and England.
How did he do it?
He told me he couldn't even play more than 60mph on bowling machines in the nets. The point? That the best players play the arm and hand, with the ball arriving later as confirmation.
Finally, this speed metric is not natural. In the old days batsmen talked about a yard of pace. On the 1982 tour of England, Fred Trueman said that the difference between Imran Khan and Bob Willis was that the former was a yard and a half faster.
So what is a yard of pace at around 90mph? My young kid can do that. It is about 5mph difference.
So when you from a 136kph to 144kph bowler (approximately 85mph to 90mph), the ball is on to the batsmen a yard quicker if it is full.
At league level most bowlers get up to max 128-130kph (80 mph) but once in a while some get up to say 135-136kph (85Mph). You know it because they are a yard quicker. It leaves very little time for doing silly things. You have to be as still as possible, head and body and be well aligned.
Great comment. I thought a yard meant simply 1 meter per hour faster as a Yard is almost a meter do someone a yard faster than 90mph would be 91mph.
We could clearly see the difference in impact of 135delivery and 145delivery.
Shaheen when he was in top form...142 avg speed and he looked unplayable.
And yesterday against India he came back from injury and his pace dropped to 135 and shaheen was having so threat on batsmen
Why i wasn't born in W.W era?? I born in 1999 and started to watch cricket in 2007 but i realled watched highlights of Wasim Waqar and Shoaib Akhtar's bowling and that is just incredible!
As an Indian.. I always wished.. Wasim Akram as our fast bowlers coach.. I wish BCCI recruits him.. Only he can make a bowler who bowls 135+ to get wickets in unforeseeable circumstances.. Example: KKR BOWLING COACH! We need a legend like him in our coaching staff! Now, i Don't need to remind what a Legend like Wasim Akram brings to the table.. does it?

For club cricketers there is a big difference between 75MPH and 80MPH, 75 is manageable with middle of the bat hitting the ball most time but 80 plus is tough and is ball hitting you or the bat. Also I'm old and very slow as well. That might have something to do with it.

A set batsman doesn't like an overpaced or overslowed ball. It's as tuff for a bowler to bowl slower as Yorker or bouncer. However top hand of both bowler and batsman awakes on it. The other three things ie bowling hand and two feet suck or put on pace from pitch.
