    This car is what 75% of people should drive and can afford. But instead they want to be heavily in debt but be driving a car worth what they make in a year. It is what it is.

    • @octaviodominguez7772
      @octaviodominguez7772 Před 5 měsíci +4

      Yea but afford is the wrong word because the transmissions fail in these like clockwork and they will need to spend 5k plus on a new transmission while on other actually reliable cars you can go 300k with no major problems

    My friend left me her 2010 versa hatchback. We were close friends, I became her roommate and then cared for her until she passed away 😪. We turned 30,000 miles together in that car around 2021. It has never had any issues with me or her for that matter. I do worry about it aging out (everything breaking) before I hit high mileage. I tease saying I need to put my foot on the asphalt to help it up a hill or get on a short freeway entrance. But I am Blessed to have known her. To have been there for her when she needed someone to be her health advocate and for her gift of this car.
    Cheers to other Nissan Versa owners.

    The SR trim level has LED headlights, a wireless phone charging pad, and turn signals located on the outside rear view mirrors, for starters.
    They are also hard to come by, as the Base S, and SV mid level trims are more common.
    The Versa is basic affordable transportation that is easy to live with, and easy to weave and maneuver in and out of city traffic.

    Have 2015 - Non CVT - That year you have choice if you go for the Base model. I'm planning to keep 20 years or until it rust out - no issue yet for $ 15,000 No payments. if 20 years = $1,000 a year avg not trying to impress anyone except my pocket.

    This is a great, affordable, reliable car that people can use to just sinply get from point a to point b. Coming from a 15yo who is still in high school, might just be my first car. Also, CVTs can be just as reliable as toyotas and hondas transmissions. My father has a 20' kicks with 71,000ish miles. Changed the transmission fluid when he was supposed to, and it runs like a clock. Get some info before you start commenting.

    A word of advice. Please check the VIN if you plan on buying one. If it begins with 3, then stay away. It was assembled in Mexico. My 2018 was assembled in Mexico, and it has poor workmanship all around. As opposed to some of my friends who have Versas and theirs was assembled in Japan. And they have no problems with their cars.
    And change your cvt fluid every 20k-30k miles.

      I didn’t know anything also until after the fact. To anyone reading this, CZcams is such a great place to do research about a car. There are so many channels with real mechanics. I thought Nissans were bulletproof like years past. I didn’t know about jatco cvt transmissions. I didn’t know about assembly plants in Mexico. Last year my warranty ended. But just within those 5 years, the engine stopped on me twice. Luckily it was from a parked position and not on the road. There was a leak in the AC system the first year. Violent shaking in the third year. $600 job to replace the engine mount and not covered. Plastic parts on the windows falling off. Rear Bumper now rattling a bit.
      Currently at 40k miles but all stop and go traffic as I live on an island. I don’t see this car lasting 100,000 miles tbh. And it’s a shame also. It’s a great car when it works. I love the small design. And I’ve followed maintenance schedule religiously.
      Gearing up to trade it this year. But I’m not going with Nissan anymore. Probably looking at a Mazda or Toyota.

    It seems to me this Nissan Versa is an upmarket version of Dacia Logan(3rd gen), the most affordable new car sold in Europe with prices from 13500 to 17500 euro. At first glance it doesn't seem like, but the windows line and the meeting point of the front panels are remarkably similar. Also Dacia is part of Renault Group which is part of Renault Nissan Mitsubishi alliance.

    It may be affordable but I wish I hadn't bought mine. This car is shorter than the 2015 Versa I had. Rear seats have no leg room. Trunk is smaller. Front passenger seat can not be changed in height. Glove compartment is smaller. You have to buy your own screws to attach the front license plate. At this time you can't get the cameraa (which cover a large part of the windshield), auto dim rear view mirror factory installed. The worst part is they built the car with crevices that can't be cleaned of debris all over the car ( too many recessed gaps between top and sides of car and front and rear windows. Not worth the cheap price.
