got these in november and honestly they were amazing. Noise cancelling and sound quality were both great. Unfortunately the rubber material on the headband came apart after less than 6 months and after a quick look online this is a really common issue. I refunded and got the Sony XM4 instead. I honestly prefer the usability of the surface headphones. Those dials are so handy. Whilst the sony ANC and audio is better, the touch controls are so temperamental. The sad thing is that designing the headband to not come apart is such a simple thing to do but they didnt do it

Love the multiple device support. I always find it annoying having to disconnect my headphones from my phone than connecting it to my laptop. May not seem much but the process to pairing long.

I have the Sony XM3's and listen with 35 - 45% volume, which is pretty sufficient for me.
Forreal, I have the first version of the Sony's, and comfortable listening volume is like 20%

I have come across so many people being unaware of the dangers of listening at high volume. I always try to talk them into lowering it.
Eh I have my XM3s at 70-80% when I'm really jamming hard and ~40% for normal listening. The XM3 in ears I tend to have at 80-100% since I'm normally listening on the train or on the street and they're not as powerful as the over ears. I'm well aware of the danger of high volumes, but I don't listen via headphones all that often so it's a bit whatever

I’ve owned a pair of these for about a year, and they’re generally great, with the exception of a couple build quality issues on my pair. The headcushion has come somewhat unglued from the top piece, and sometimes I encounter static in the left ear that can only be fixed by turning the headphones on and off again, and also by flexing the headband and moving the cups around a lot. Not the end of the world, but it happens often enough to be annoying.

Depends. If you use Spotify it decreases the volume to make it even across all songs.
If someone say that they need to keep volume at 2/3 in Spotify that's a very high volume.

@@yesto9676 depends on apps on what your using them on. some apps or even computer programs can make max level feel alot lower than it is. also if you using it wired but its not on then its not as loud as the wireless part.
i use to use the xm3 always wired but never used the wireless. after using wireless for a bit i realized that its much louder using the wireless function than using it wired but xm3 not actually on if that makese sense.

Sorry, but that wasn't a surface pro, it was a surface book, which only comes in aluminium
@@fariswfq i never suggested he should use black lights... I merely pointed out that he does indeed only use white, whereas a lot of other channels have far more colourful setups with multicolour lights.
I have the original Surface Headphones. One small change I notice is that, on the new version, the mic mute button and the power button are slightly raised. On the original, the mic mute button is raised but the power button is flush. That does help prevent accidental presses but it is actually a little hard to find sometimes, so they seem to have taken that on board.
With regards to the ANC, 13 levels probably is overkill but I have found it good to have fine-grained control at times. I used to wear them on the bus for part of my commute and I like to have the ANC dialled all the way up as much as possible, but that would make the sound distort terribly whenever the bus hit a pothole, of which there were a reasonable number on my route. By dialling the ANC back just a little, I could still get close to the maximum effect without any of the distortion. I'm not sure whether other headphones would not have suffered from the distortion in the first place but I suspect that they would. If so then the multiple levels available on the Surface Headphones was a win for me.
