Its unfortunate that many of these players didnt 'make it' or become noticeable at a much younger age because It seems to be that once youre 28+ and then finally make the break, youre not as hyped or as noticed as much as these younger players that break through properly. but all respect for younger players that do 'make a break', as they must really be doing something right.

Scholes? Honestly? He showed extraordinary promise in his first year, and after his second year he was clearly class, a full time starter in very competitive midfield, and starter for England. He then only got better and better every year.
Putting him alongside Hubner, a genuine classic journeyman who became one of the best strikers in Serie A, is a real mismatch of content.
