Am glad you guys do videos like this. It helps lots learning your products very well. If possible can you guys do it on your whole line up of products 👍👍👍👍
Yvan and Nick ! Great video ! Definitely placing a order of quick bits in the next week! You should do a video of how to clean a dirty car in a car wash station, a mix of Rinse-less with pressure washer ! The thing is that with the pressure washer station, you pay $3-$5 usually for 3-5 minutes of water and as a weekend warrior or people on a budget, we do not want to spend $10-$15 per wash just in water ! A effective way of how to attack those situations would be awesome !
Good first experience with Quick Beads! It was pleasant to use where other brands with similar products are quite gnarly on the senses, and the quality of the spray trigger was a big help. Excellent initial hydrophobics. I just did a straightforward wash with some All Clean sprayed on the lower panels to enhance the cleaning to prep and about 1/3 of the QB bottle got me around a Chrysler minivan. Dwell time: If you have a panel flooded with water (horizontal panels especially, no protection, no repellency), allow extra dwell time for the product to do its thing before rinsing, 20-30 seconds for me. If you don't get high quality hydrophobics on the rinse, wait a moment for the panel to shed water so there's less water on the surface, then reapply QB and rinse again, you should see an immediate difference; avoid a heavy first application, two light applications are better! If you have a panel that's not flooded where the product makes paint contact, I find it best to start rinsing almost immediately, just spray and count to five then rinse bottom to top to bottom; not allowing these product types to dry is key to success. If you miss a spot, you can identify it with water behavior, just spray that spot and rinse; panel edges are most common, don't be afraid to overlap a door for example to ensure you get the edges.
Great demo, guys! I had some splotching when I used Quick Beads, but I think it came from either using too much (based on how Yvan demonstrated it) or from the wind causing overspray - or both. Now I know what to watch out for! 👍

Just grabbed a bottle of QB after a meet and greet @ TOC in Canada! I was not aware how good this stuff smells! 🤤 Going to primarily use for rims and those finicky front grills, and lower panels as top ups through a season
Exactly what I have been waiting for. I used almost 1/2 the bottle on my vehicle because the directions say to apply to entire vehicle. I have used a similar product and they specify 2-3 sprays a panel and use the power washer to distribute. That seems to work well for their product, although the working time is considerably shorter than the 30 seconds for Quick Beads - pretty much instant in their case. Curious to learn more about the product as far as proper application for entire vehicle and a general longevity estimate especially in comparison to Ceramic Gloss. Also, which one would be more appropriate for use as a ceramic coating topper/sacrifical layer. Thanks for all your amazing products and videos/podcasts. hi there! You can use either or, whichever you prefer. Both offer equal durability, and they all work well together, just depends on which you enjoy using more.
Love all your products. Have now reordered quicks beads gallon size several times. Question. Do you have a trick for 16 oz spray bottles. They seem to loosen easily while using. Thanks
Thank you. Yes after they get DIY Detail Quick Beads on them it’s difficult to create friction between the sprayer and bottle. A little Teflon tape, or very small drop of silicone will help.
If you overdo it with the application of Quick Beads, you do have multiple solutions: 1. Reapply Quick Beads and then rinse again (haven’t tried that method) 2. Use Ceramic Gloss and buff dry 3. Rinseless wash + dry (helpful if you apply in low light and don’t see streaking until the next day😒) 4. Finish drying your car. Then with that same damp towel, attempt to buff off the dried up Quick Beads. This one does require letting it sit and dry a few minutes before attempting it. (Found this one out by accident)
An academic questions, but I've often wondered how a "water activated" product doesn't start to "activate" in the bottle, given that it's mostly water in there already.
@@diydetailofficial yep I'm just thinking for my wash and wax, and clay and seal service I usually end with ceramic gloss… But I might switch to QB and then rinse off with DI water and I'm done! Would save me time a labor..
@@waxmanvids5015 You can also apply QB to the wet vehicle and use the clay towel (QB as clay lub), then dry, without rinsing. They have made videos with this procedure.
Question? I assume that ceramic gloss and quick beads would give the same protection and longevity hopefully. Just different application styles. Do they give the same amount of gloss? I have the ceramic gloss but would like the easier application but still tons of gloss and slickness?
Hey guys, two questions. First, is there a “curing” time after applying before you expose the vehicle to rain or the elements? Second, if using as a clay towel lubricant, do you just rinse the car off and dry, or mist a little extra on after decontamination and then rinse? Thanks!
New to your products. I’m currently using Seal N Shine for the winter here in Michigan. I want to try your clay towel, iron remover and Quick Beads. Do I need to remove the Seal N Shine first or will the clay towel do that? My cars paint and clear coat look great and I polished them about three months ago to prep for winter. Please help me because I want to try your products. Thank you.
No need to remove it. Since our clay towel isn’t abrasive, it will only remove contaminants, not sealants. Clean, use DIY Detail Iron Remover with the Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towel , then rinse and apply DIY Detail Quick Beads
good stuff... love QB's... question, your pressure washer seems really powerful... are you running a super high psi unit or does it just seems like that on video?
I live in Florida. The heat/sun destroys rubber trim. Is this a good product to use to extend life on rubber trims like what you find on the bottom outside of windows?
Hi guys, just a question about quick beads vs ceramic gloss. can you spray quick beads as a drying aid on a freshly rinseless washed car and then dry with a single drying towel without separate buffing (Same method as ceramic gloss as a drying aid)? Or is ceramic gloss as a drying aid better/good enough to protect a car, and quick beads is more for those who prefer a completely different method of application(ie panel flushing with water)? Basically, I'd like a graphene drying aid that's applied the same way as ceramic gloss(similar to McKee's graphene detail spray) Can quick beads fulfil this role?
This product looks amazing. But, one question I haven't seen-I tend to maybe over rinse my car. I am over sensitive to leaving soap on the paint. Can you over rinse this product? For instance I have done one side and half the top, now I go to the other side and other top half. I would think I need to go around the car again for a good rinse. Is that too much rinsing? I surely don't want to wash the product off the car.
Followed instructions on bottle, but like a previous comment, it doesn't say how much and ended up using half the bottle on a small car. Bad streaking occurred. Tried spraying againn to reactive but it didn't work. What can I do now? TIA
I accidentally sprayed the product on my windows when they were in the sun. I did quickly rinse off but it seems to have been too late. I have streaks on my glass now. How do I remove the product?
From my experience, do not leaf blow off your car after using Quick Beads. If you do, reactivating it with Quick Beads will not work. Clay Bar will not work very well either. There are two methods I have found work well, either use a little bit of polish to break it up, or use Panel Prep. Since Panel Prep was quicker, that is what I used. Followed up with Ceramic Gloss for a great finish. I defaulted into my normal routine of blow drying the car, but forgot I used Quick Beads. Do not make that mistake, but thankfully, there is an easy way to fix it.
Hey guys! Saw the YT short clip on Quick Beads on the wheels. Dumb question. Are you spraying the Quick Beads on the wheels AFTER they have already been cleaned first? Thanks. Just got it so I want to make sure I use it correctly.
@ DIY Detail: Can we use this product as a drying aid? I use hard water and there are other products (Spray 4 Wax or Cheater Wax Drying Aid) out there that I spray that help to neutralize the minerals in the water and thus no water spots while drying. For people like me who do not have access to a water spot removable system (Expensive), those products are like really helpful. I was wondering if DIY Quick Beads are similar to those which will help to dry? BTW, this is a great product and I just ordered it. Thanks.
@@diydetailofficial Thanks for the reply, found a seller in the uk and I've ordered a ton of DIY detail products to try out, my first clay towel as well. Kind of a weird one but I'm also going to try quick beads on the glass of my shower cubicle! 🤣
Thanks for the reply. I have so many bottles of specific stuff that I am trying to use up, but an all in one would be great to have for quick lasting protection.
Can you use quick beads with other ceramic products ,i ordered some Nexygen ceramic spray but that was before i found you guys on youtube i just knew i should have waited ,so is it safe to use before i use the Nexygen ?
If you spray on rinse off and then dry with your towel - no. You’re just drying water on the surface at that point. But if you spray it on your towel and you’re concerned about it, put the towel in a bucket of Rinseless Wash and let it soak for 30-60 minutes before putting the towel in the wash
They are both a couple of percent appart. What is more important is the carrier resins. The resins are what hold the ceramic together and on the surface. Some companies use ceramic content for marketing purposes, when in reality it has little or no bearing on the durability or performance.
Exactly what I was looking for. I have a deionizer I like to use as the FINAL rinse. Can I spray this, then rinse with non deionized water, then do another FINAL deionized rinse? I’d really not like to bust out the towel to dry. Just rinse and walk away.
@@diydetailofficial I’ve got a pretty high TDS out of the bib. Want to use the non di water to activate the graphene first. Don’t have to be stingy with the high tds water. Then do a final rinse with the DI. Want to max life the resin. Gotta be stingy with the di water. The resin is $$$$! Lol
It’s personal preference, DIY Detail Quick Beads if you’re using a hose or pressure washer, DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss if doing a Rinseless Wash are more convenient.
Hey Yvan. Roughly how many sprays of quick beads do you do on a car when you're rinsing it off after? And how many cars should you be able to do with a 16 oz bottle?
I’m thinking to use quick beads with MJJC Foam Cannon Pro v2 as I felt this will spread it more evenly compared to spray and distributing it while rinsing. Any advice on the dilution ratio?
There are two detailers that have a podcast from the UK made a comment about how you rinse off snow foam from the top to the bottom of car and they recommend to rinse from the bottom to upward. I won't mention their names, but one is extremely tall and the other is extremely short. What is your preferred way to rinse off snow foam and why?
This is Yvan. For something that’s strongly alkaline or acidic, rinsing up helps to prevent streaking from the strong product. This was common practice when Detailers were using wheel acids and acidic fall out cleaners because of the potential damage. With modern formulas, and clear coated paint this is less of a need. There is no other reason for doing this. On the down side it takes more time effort and water. Secondly if there’s grit on the surface ( and now in the foam) rinsing up has more potential to drag that grit along the paint.
Since the water used to activate Quick Beads needs to be dried off after Quick Beads is applied, will Quick Beads clog up my drying towels? I'm very particular with my drying towels. I've invested money in good drying towels and don't want any product on them that will decrease their drying ability.
Not as much as a spray and wipe drying aid. To prevent accumulation in your towels, soak them in your wash bucket 15 minutes. The surfactants will prevent the ceramics from crosslinking.
@@diydetailofficial I've got car cleaning chemicals from a dozen different companies. I haven't found any company's products I can just use for everything. I guess I'll give yours a try and see how it goes. If it goes well, I'll try more. My goal is to find one company whose products are so consistently good across the board that I can us their chemicals for everything. I don't like your high shipping charges, though.
Do you send the spray nozzle with the bottle or do you have to buy it separately? I got my first bottle of quick beads and gold standard polish today from my local detailing shop, they came with a normal cap on and when I said it should be a spray they put on a couple of spray nozzles but they look different to the ones you are using. I've not tried them yet and they probably work fine but I've just watched one of pans videos reviewing your interior detailer and his missus said the spray nozzle on yours was quite good, I just want to make sure I'm not missing out on anything

Can someone tell me how to remove the streaks that quick beads leaves behind?…. it doesn’t matter how well you follow the directions this stuff always leave streaks no matter what.
A few things, to remove streaks simply wipe with a DIY Detail Quick Beads dampened towel. Streaking is often caused by using too much product. Use only 1 or 2 sprays per panel. When rinsing, use your water to spread the DIY Detail Quick Beads from the bottom up. Then rinse down. czcams.com/users/shortsO6FYJs5V6KM?si=0goRCuw4_iq99x_i czcams.com/video/ByNtk0QTP8A/video.htmlsi=aibL4mDWgm07nWiX
A bit confused… QB is water activated but one can use it as a 1)spray and wipe (which doesn’t seem to fit the description) 2) as a clay lube (which doesn’t seem to fit the description) 3) a drying aid (which doesn’t seem to fit the description) Can you maybe add some context to what appear to be conflicting statements?
It’s designed primarily as a water activated ( Or distributed) product. Like many products in the detailing industry, there are many uses that are not on the label.

Basically the same. They are not competing against each other, they complement each other. For maximum durability, apply DIY Detail Ceramic Coating
Gloss is best with DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss, slickness is best with DIY Detail Quick Beads
Hey guys, two questions. First, is there a “curing” time after applying before you expose the vehicle to rain or the elements? Second, if using as a clay towel lubricant, do you just rinse the car off and dry, or mist a little extra on after decontamination and then rinse? Thanks!
No curing time, it loves water.
When used as a clay lube, simply towel dry.
How long does the protection and water beading last with quick beads?
4-12 months
It’s an illusion, it’s a Kranzle, set to around 900 psi
I'm wondering if this is safe on a travel trailer gel coat?
Yes it is
I live in Florida. The heat/sun destroys rubber trim. Is this a good product to use to extend life on rubber trims like what you find on the bottom outside of windows?
Yes.
Yes it can be used as a spray and wipe drying aid.
If you had to pick one, would you choose ceramic gloss or quick beads? For someone who washes car once a week.
Do you use soap or Rinse less? If you rinse DIY Detail Quick Beads, if Rinse less DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss
Is it too much to use Quick Beads or Ceramic Gloss after every wash, say doing a wash once a month?
That’s fine
This product looks amazing. But, one question I haven't seen-I tend to maybe over rinse my car. I am over sensitive to leaving soap on the paint. Can you over rinse this product? For instance I have done one side and half the top, now I go to the other side and other top half. I would think I need to go around the car again for a good rinse. Is that too much rinsing? I surely don't want to wash the product off the car.
You can’t over rinse
Followed instructions on bottle, but like a previous comment, it doesn't say how much and ended up using half the bottle on a small car. Bad streaking occurred. Tried spraying againn to reactive but it didn't work. What can I do now? TIA
Use a nice MF towel and apply to clean dry paint like a sealant.
@@diydetailofficial just tried that and still not budging at all. Remains the same
I accidentally sprayed the product on my windows when they were in the sun. I did quickly rinse off but it seems to have been too late. I have streaks on my glass now. How do I remove the product?
Apply some with a towel
Iv'e been using gyon wet coat for years, on wheels, and on paint when needed. How does Quick Beads compare?
We don’t like to compare to other products, but feedback we’ve received from folks who use both has been extremely positive 😊
I get it, I'll give it a try ( I was going to any way)
@@diydetailofficiali respect this.
Thank you
@@diydetailofficialI don’t understand why you can’t dry the vehicle with a blower after a Quick Beads application??
I might have missed it, can Quick Beads be used without water? For example, spread like a liquid wax with an applicator on a dry and clean surface?
Yes you can!
Is it a complement to ceramic glass or a substitute, if you were to use both which one would layer over the other?
They both compliment each other.
Just seems like ceramic gloss with extra steps. What's the benefit over ceramic gloss?
It’s the application method that changes, personal preference
Can I use quick beads instead of spray wax or will I still need to add more protection?
Quick Beads is a great way to protect your vehicle after the wash, use as often as you’d like 👍
Can DIY Quick Beads be my only form of paint protection after a polish? Or Is it recommended to still do a proper ceramic or graphene coating first?
A coating is best
Hey guys! Saw the YT short clip on Quick Beads on the wheels. Dumb question. Are you spraying the Quick Beads on the wheels AFTER they have already been cleaned first? Thanks. Just got it so I want to make sure I use it correctly.
Yep! Clean the wheels first, then go ahead and spray Quick Beads on the clean/wet wheels, then after a bit of dwell time rinse off.
Thanks.
Yes, it will definitely help.
Apologies for the stupid question, I wax my car but really like the look of the quick beads. Can I still wax my car and use quick beads on top?
Yes
@@diydetailofficial Thanks for the reply, found a seller in the uk and I've ordered a ton of DIY detail products to try out, my first clay towel as well. Kind of a weird one but I'm also going to try quick beads on the glass of my shower cubicle! 🤣
How well does it work/protect the black plastic trim common along the bottom of doors and around wheel wells?
Very well
Thanks for the reply. I have so many bottles of specific stuff that I am trying to use up, but an all in one would be great to have for quick lasting protection.
@@Neil-33 no rush, use up your other products.
Can you use quick beads with other ceramic products ,i ordered some Nexygen ceramic spray but that was before i found you guys on youtube i just knew i should have waited ,so is it safe to use before i use the Nexygen ?
You will want to use DIY Detail Quick Beads after you’ve ceramic coated the vehicle.
What is the rule of thumb on using quick beads if you already have another ceramic coating on the car?
It makes a great maintenance product.
So what happens if you don't rinse quick Beads off well but then proceed to dry it. White vehicle so maybe missed some areas when rinsing/activating
As long as it doesn’t dry on the surface before you get to it with the towel, your fine
will this affect applying small pieces off ppf on lower panel? or do i need to remove the ceramic gloss before applying?
Best to do a panel prep before PPF
Dude I want this badly
When will this product be available in INDIA?
When a distributor decides there’s enough demand.
Will quick beads harden and ruin the absorption of drying towels?
If you spray on rinse off and then dry with your towel - no. You’re just drying water on the surface at that point. But if you spray it on your towel and you’re concerned about it, put the towel in a bucket of Rinseless Wash and let it soak for 30-60 minutes before putting the towel in the wash
Which product has more ceramic content in it - Quick Beads or Ceramic Gloss? Thanks.
They are both a couple of percent appart. What is more important is the carrier resins. The resins are what hold the ceramic together and on the surface. Some companies use ceramic content for marketing purposes, when in reality it has little or no bearing on the durability or performance.
@@diydetailofficial - Thank you!
Exactly what I was looking for. I have a deionizer I like to use as the FINAL rinse. Can I spray this, then rinse with non deionized water, then do another FINAL deionized rinse?
I’d really not like to bust out the towel to dry. Just rinse and walk away.
Sure! go for for it. why not just rinse with deionized water in the first place?
@@diydetailofficial I’ve got a pretty high TDS out of the bib. Want to use the non di water to activate the graphene first. Don’t have to be stingy with the high tds water. Then do a final rinse with the DI. Want to max life the resin. Gotta be stingy with the di water. The resin is $$$$! Lol
Do I apply QB after washing or before
After
When do I use quick beads and when do I use ceramic gloss?
It’s personal preference, DIY Detail Quick Beads if you’re using a hose or pressure washer, DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss if doing a Rinseless Wash are more convenient.
If I use rinseless do I rinse it off before QB, or do I lay on the QB right after washing with rinseless then rinse off the QB as shown
Apply with DIY Detail Rinse Less Wash on the surface
Hey Yvan. Roughly how many sprays of quick beads do you do on a car when you're rinsing it off after? And how many cars should you be able to do with a 16 oz bottle?
25-40 sprays, 10-20 cars
@@diydetailofficial Thank you so much!
I’m thinking to use quick beads with MJJC Foam Cannon Pro v2 as I felt this will spread it more evenly compared to spray and distributing it while rinsing. Any advice on the dilution ratio?
We have used that before, no dilution, so it unfortunately uses a fair bit of product. Spray and rinse remains the best way.
Ah no worries and good to know. Glad to also see you guys pushing for efficient use despite it end up using less product. Appreciate the honesty
Wha happens if i dont dry it? Can i just use water drom a di vessel to rinse instead?
If you rinse thoroughly with DI water you’re probably okay, but it’s best to gently dry after Quick Beads, the paint is super slick!
If I want to apply Quick Beads and Ceramic Gloss which do I apply first?
DIY Detail Quick Beads
Can this be used on the windscreen?
Yes
Love the intro lol.
Thanks!
@DIY Detail You are both very welcome. Nothing better than being able to get products and product advise from the both of you.
I would like to see Yvan give his take on headlight restorations!
Good idea
When layering Quick Beads with traditional paste wax, which should be applied first?
DIY Detail Quick Beads
Since the water used to activate Quick Beads needs to be dried off after Quick Beads is applied, will Quick Beads clog up my drying towels? I'm very particular with my drying towels. I've invested money in good drying towels and don't want any product on them that will decrease their drying ability.
Not as much as a spray and wipe drying aid. To prevent accumulation in your towels, soak them in your wash bucket 15 minutes. The surfactants will prevent the ceramics from crosslinking.
@@diydetailofficial If I soak my drying towels in the wash bucket for 15 minutes they'll be wet and I don't think they'll dry very well.
We have Tolco sprayers (they are quite good indeed) and they come with every bottle of product you buy (with the exception of Incredible Suds and Rinseless Wash). Who did you buy from, out of curiosity? Should we level it with a micro fibre cloth before rinsing
No need
how often can i use quick beads? is every wash too much? every 3rd wash?? my car has a ceramic coating, but this seems like a great maintenance product
Every wash is totally fine!!
So you would only use quick beads when you have access to water? You shouldn't use this with rinseless washing?
Ideally
In a comment below someone says you should not leaf blow your car after using Quick Beads. Is this true or is touch-less drying with a blower fine?
You can, but towel drying is a better option.
What does towel drying do that makes it the preferred option? Bought some recently and want to get maximum benefit.
Using a leaf blower dries some of the water on the surface, it doesn’t all blow away) eventually creating a film.
how do you fix streaking from quick beads on windshield or glass?
Apply DIY Detail Quick Beads to a Towel and apply that way.

The sooner the better, ask your favourite detail supplier for DIY Detail, the more they get asked the more they will consider it.
As far as a drying lubricant, which has less chance to smear, QB or CG?
DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss is more forgiving of over use.
A bit confused…
QB is water activated but one can use it as a
1)spray and wipe (which doesn’t seem to fit the description)
2) as a clay lube (which doesn’t seem to fit the description)
3) a drying aid (which doesn’t seem to fit the description)
Can you maybe add some context to what appear to be conflicting statements?
It’s designed primarily as a water activated ( Or distributed) product. Like many products in the detailing industry, there are many uses that are not on the label.
So I can use any type of drying aid (another sealant, spray wax, etc.) afterwards and it won’t affect the sealant?
Every time you add another product on top it will slightly change water beading appearance etc.
As long as protection is there...Need to use them up to restock more! 😉Thank you! @@diydetailofficial
