- Milo was a pregnant stray dog living near the border of Arizona and Mexico when someone found her and brought her to Sunshine Dog Rescue. Her puppies were born premature and none of them survived. As she searched frantically for her babies, her rescuers came up with an idea to make her heart whole again.

I’m guessing her mother instincts was telling her that “Gumball” was weaker than the others and needed more attention. Moms know things! ❤
That's exactly what I thought. She was also somewhat smaller.
How do you know? Are you a doctor?
As a grandmother I can attest, that once activated, the instinct to mother never ends. It transcends culture, race, species and any other false barrier society tosses in our path. It is love, pure and simple.

Back in 1976 I had a toy poodle. She was bred once. The one puppy was still born. Silver was literally dying due to depression. I got her a baby, talked to her from the front door to our room. "Silver I found your baby." She accepted the baby immediately. A calico kitten the age her puppy would have been. It was a beautiful sight to behold. They remained close until 1979. Mother & daughter, their breed, color, & species didn't matter. HUMANS SHOULD BE LIKE THAT.
animals are MUCH loving much more loving caring than humans ever will be
Unfortunately humans are much more likely to punish human mommies than actually care for the babies
They are, humans bring kittens and puppies into their homes to raise them all the time.

i think dogs definitely know when they’re nursing non-puppies. the smell is different.. so i think her knowing these weren’t her natural babies but still loving them and taking care of them as such makes it so much sweeter
yep i saw that if the animals they are adopting are small they will be extra gentle to them like with these kittens
Yep
Damn right... *Sniff*
I agree. Dogs' sense of smell is very heightened. Her instinct was so strong that it didn't matter to her that the smell was different. They were still babies and they needed her and she needed to mother.
It's been reported that scientific studies have shown that dogs can distinguish between themselves and all other species of animals. Cats cannot. Dogs may feel that you're part of their pack, their family, but they also know that you are an animal that is different from them. To a cat, you're just a big cat. Although, obviously, cats can distinguish between themselves and their prey. So I wonder how that works.
As a human who lost a baby and found kittens, I can say that this works.
Fast forward to now. I have a human child of my own. And feline babies and canine babies. What a happy few we are.
I love this so much.

My mom is very disabled and my dad had to work really hard to provide for us. He got me a German shepherd rottweiler mix for Christmas my 9th year alive. Logan even as a puppy was my best friend. And as soon as she was a year old and big she became very maternal over me. She was the kinda dog when men would walk by in the yard in the summer she'd back her butt up into my knees and growl the deepest scariest growl at men who looked a little too long at my growing body. Cross-species nursing is weird and cool at the same time. I've seen baby guinea pigs nursing from cats, cats nursing puppies, puppies and kittens with pigs...the list goes on. It just shows that a mother's love and instinct is to think: "This is a baby. It needs me."
Great vid.
Babies from most mammal species actually segregate specific pheromones which will drive mothering females to nurse them as their own
I know it's crazy and wonderful! I just watched a video a few weeks ago of a cat nursing a raccoon. I’m happy to say I haven’t seen a depressed or sad dog before so this video really captures the before and after of the pride and joy in her eyes when she gets introduced to the kittens.
They have a lot of muscles in their face compared to cats, with cats you have to read their body posture as well.
But like…the brightness and warmth in the eyes.
And the (at first) fear/depression in the eyes.
I’ve never seen such a difference!
Having many animals, they all show expressions if we care to see them. Thank you for observing
Dogs are very good at reading faces and they communicate with expressions as well.
Dogs evolved from wolves so that man would accept them as part of his pack. One of the details that dogs have and wolves do not, are the eyebrows, and "the smile". Lots of atrophied facial muscles in wolves function in dogs, allowing them to mimic expressions that "make them human." Cats didn't need that for humans to love them, haha

@@user-gr6st7ud3l By their neck skin yes, but not straight up just grab them with their entire mouths as if they were about to chomp them lmao
She didn’t have a favorite! She just found her soulmate ❤
I just started to cry when they said that all her baby’s died 😢but I’m sooo happy that she got new little baby’s to take care of and love on ❤️❤️❤️
somewhere in Heaven there is a mother cat caring for Milo's litter of puppies.
this is an edit to add: I've read some replies, and I don't care what you all say, this is just what I'm thinking. Yes I believe in heaven.

You not only saved the kittens, but you saved your dog's mind and her life!

Catherine, So very true. A great observation.
A mother’s love knows no bounds.
She have happy now... Tqvm saved this dog GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS ❤❤❤❤❤❤
It makes me very sad knowing that animals suffer pain just as much as humans. But most people will pass on by not even being aware of their pain. At least this beautiful mother got a chance at being a mum to some kittens.
Exactly. I can't imagine the grief and anguish they go through around the world. I love these happy endings :D
Of this, don't eat meat, go vegan. Every animal is suffering by human people🐖🐄🐐🐑🐇🐤🐓🦆🐟🦞🦀🦑
@@casandramorgen8185 Every animal is also suffering by other animals. Animals eat other animals. Don't go vegan.
Democrat mothers abort the babies & don't want you to care about the dead baby
@@casandramorgen8185 eating meat isn't the problem. Eating it every day and price of the meat is.. i gladly pay alot more if animal welfare is excellent.
The smile on her face when the kittens started nursing.
Yes, dogs can smile unlike cats but neither can laugh. Laughing too loud can even scare cats. It is not something they do or understand unlike play to them that probably feels like laughter to humans.
This is why I love animals, they can be so caring and cause so many miracles.
Mom getting ready to receive new babies is beautiful.....she dont care their different
She for sure knew they weren’t her babies! She didn’t care! Animals are way smarter than we give them credit.
Yes grief is universal, there is plenty of evidence that animals grieve from Elephants to birds. She needed to mother to help her with her grief, plus her body was primed for feeding her babies, so the kittens needed her and she needed them. A beautiful story out of tragedy.
Yes, they are. I've seen people working with animals to use buttons with words for communicating with humans. There is definitely a "someone home". But, I've always known that, since earliest childhood.
@@victoriabaker4400 Yes, the button thing really drives home the fact they animals have complex thoughts and emotions and rich inner worlds.
Check out bee brick
Absolutely. She definitely knew they were not her biological babies but she still recognized that they needed her (and vice versa!) and loved them. Such a sweet little family ❤️
Imagine what would the world look like without our animals? Unthinkable, just lovely these animals, pure love, and my heart is melting seeing that.
💗💗💗
Exactly Dogs totally understand what unconditional love is.
And so does the woman who thought Why not.💖😇
This is a love story we all need to witness
Also imagine what the world would be if humans loved the way animals do
@@andrewsld That would be awesome, i think normally we people would be like that, but we humans got so controlled and brainwashed and dumbed down (DNA strangs) so that we forget who we really are, and they "the elite" incited us we the people with politics, religion, sports, work, school ect to divide us and make us angry, this is going on since thousands of years, but there will be coming a time where we humans are how we supposed to be.
So happy to see this beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
3:20 The resignation on that dog's face...
I felt so bad that she lost her babies…She’s beautiful and her desire to mother is just heart warming… God bless her and her babies.
Me too. God bless you too.
This is a blessing. ❤
That was beautiful it made me cry
I feel awful she lost her babies. But being a kitten mom well that sure brightened up my mood.

Can we just take a moment and appreciate how happy the mother is with her new babies?
*The mother will never forget her puppies*
with her new baby kittens*
@@pairocrazzro9326 yeah, but to her they were just fuzzy puppies, just like the ugly duckling story from centuries ago. This is a long known behavior amongst some animals, mostly land mammals.
That is a beautiful story.
Omgsh look at these Angel caring for her babies.. theor her babies it don’t have to be blood 🩸 we must learn from these animals that show unconditional love ❤😊😊
I strongly believe that she knew they were kittens but she also knew they needed a mommy and she wanted to be a mommy so it worked out perfectly thank you for fostering her and her kittens and I'm so glad that her one of them got to be home together that's so cool that they got adopted together and she got to be the mommy she wanted to be
I agree
I agree with you I think she knew they were kittens and I think she also knew that they needed help which that was nice of her to help them and why can't people be like that.
Its just a dog
