Pilerud I've looked through all the photos and videos from 1995-now that I can find, and his hair's usually blonde, most often a dirty blonde, but the only time I've seen it starkly brunette is in the music videos. I don't dislike it or anything, it's just intriguing.
It would be high on my list of their songs, however, it lacks a lot of the technical skill and musical depth that really makes Covenant great. It is repetitive and simple, though intentionally so - it does give a great counterpoint to a lot of their other music.

Dying your hair is pretty common, in this scene. That can be part of an explanation. (Or, a secret government conspiracy.) :)
