I just bought a Kieffer pear tree today, I'm in zone 7b/8a in Georgia. Thanks for this wonderful video, it's great to know what to expect from a tree in your garden.

I just picked my Kiefer pears this October. And after they sat and got juicy and soft, man they were good! I’m going to plant some more of these.

Thanks for this video! Just looking for some care tips. I have a pear tree that came with my house that's probably decades old and 25 feet tall. I'm pretty sure it's a kieffer from the insane graininess of the fruit. For the last 2 years, it has gotten covered in flowers but drops all the fruit. I fertlilized and have been watering every other week this spring and have a ton of fruit. Looking forward to harves time and trying new pear recipes.

Thank you for your video! It is so helpful. My Kieffer pear tree is around 8 years old and has pears for the first time! I didnt know anything about them.
I never fertilized at all. Is it too late? What type of fertilizer should i use?
I also have Floridahome pear and Pineapple pear trees.

Thank you for this video. Just planted an ultra dwarf kieffer pear tree. Our neighbor has a pear tree right over the fence so hoping it will benefit from cross pollination although I’m not sure what kind of pear our neighbor has.

Have eight Kieffer pear trees and last year had a fairly good crop. Despite living in North Florida, we had a late frost really dent our production this year. Great video on the species -- love the fruit, but it's definitely a tree that as you well shared benefits from pruning and won't ever win top honors for having the most beautiful form. Have to admit I too missed pruning mine this year and definitely will need to this winter!

The ornamental pears are becoming an "invasive" plant being spread by the birds in our area.
I get wild ones coming up in the field and graft them to different edible varieties.
This is one type we used, and they went nuts this year. They are on the branches like grapes.
Easily a wheel barrow load. Very blight resistant. The Red Bartletts were hit hard, but not these.

I pray you did not cut the limbs off the tree that were hanging , because those are the only ones that produce fruit.... the straight up in the air are sucke cains and need to be cut off ... for the air circulation ...
