He already had his own shows before AGT, but definitely gained some popularity with Penn 'n teller and AGT
The judges really help the show. Back when Sharon Osborne and David hasselhoff were judges it hit an all time low.
Howard stern helped the show a ton.

My God, the guy who surprised him was incredibly attractive. It's so sweet that they did that for him and to throw a surprise birthday party, that's going the extra mile for good reason. He's so adorable and I love how he acted so cool and chill with Shin then he completely loses it once he left.
