    Because of this video, which was beautifully done, I went out and purchased a PreSonus AudioBox USB 96 as a secondary, remote audio interface for recording gigs. It's very easy to use and sounds great. Plugs right into my MacBook Pro Laptop, which I use PreSonus Studio One Professional DAW to record.

    I thought white looked clean and good but I guess black is better.
    Was gonna ask what's the difference between the limited white vs the black, actually, both are the same as the blue one it's just color preference.

    do I need line out to amplify the sound to drive the monitor correctly?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Před 3 lety

      Hey, Richard! Thanks for reaching out. That could depend on exactly what you mean and what monitors you're using. If you have active monitors that accept a line level signal, the AudioBox provides plenty of gain to push them. If you have passive monitors, you would need a power amp to amplify the signal.
      Let me know if this doesn't answer your question. Thanks!

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Před 2 lety

      Hey, Joji! Thanks for your interest. Yes, you can do that all simultaneously with this interface. Since there is only one headphone output you might want to grab a simple headphone amp for you to all monitor while you track.

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Před 3 lety

      Hey, Bailey! In short - yes, yes, and yes! It is compatible with PC, but you'll definitely want to check on the operating system requirements to make sure it will work well with what you have. You can absolutely use a microphone to record your guitar cab, or you can use it to record drums. You're limited to the number of inputs (2) built into the unit, but you could absolutely do 2 overhead mics, no problem. I'd love to talk with you more about it. Would you mind giving me a shout at the contact info below?

      @sweetwater  Před 3 lety

      Hi, Yuda! Hope your new year is off to a great start. Yes, as long as your keyboard has a 5-pin MIDI output, you can use a MIDI cable and interface to turn it into a controller for VST instruments. The PreSonus AudioBox 96 is a good affordable interface that will handle both audio and MIDI. You would just need to make sure you also have all the appropriate cables to hook things up the way you want to. If you have further questions, feel free to contact me directly. • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Před 3 lety

      Hey there! It's Mickey from Sweetwater, thanks for reaching out! There is an in/out pair of MIDI 5 pin jacks on the back of the AudioBox96. If your device has 5 pin MIDI, you can connect to the AudiBox without the need for another MIDI to USB solution. However, if your MIDI device only has USB MIDI out, you will still need to connect that to your computer independently. In either situation, the AudioBox does not supply "wall" power to the MIDI devices. If they need a power adapter to work, that will still be needed. To speak more specifically, as we do not know which devices you are wanting to use it, give us a call!

    • @JohnR-wf2hh
      @JohnR-wf2hh Před 3 lety +3

      It connects to your Mac or pc with a USB 2.0 cable and native drivers. I don't think the audiobox works with iOS devices. if you're looking for an interface to record into an iPad, Sweetwater has a section called "iPad/iPhone Interfaces". Presonus has a version of the audiobox called audiobox iOne/iTwo that works on Mac and PC as well as iOS. I've also heard good things about IK Multimedia's iRig line of interfaces. disclaimer: I have no personal experience with either lines of iOS interfaces.

      No problem, always happy to help! One mic is better than no mic. If that's what you have to work with just make the best of it and you'll appreciate the upgrade when you get there. Try to position it so that you capture the whole kit as evenly as possible. The further you have the mic from the kit, the more room ambiance you will capture. I'm happy to give more tips, too, if you email or call me so we can get in depth. Thanks!
