Although one cannot condone the actions of these men but I see already that the western reporters are showing sympathy and decrying their treatment. Of course in a western society, a criminal must be treated fairly, given all the benefits to ensure there is no complaint about how he is treated and forget about those who were the victim. Torture has been proven to be ineffective at getting to the truth, but very effective at getting people to say whatever you want them to say to make the torture stop. The implication is that these guys could be the real perpetrators or they are just some guys they picked up and blamed.
