18:50 I'm pretty sure I know why those rooms are there. In the original website, they used to have advertisement tents for movies and stuff in between rooms. I remember there was one for the Jack Black Gilligan's Island movie that gave you a tool to make yourself either giant or tiny. I'd assume they took them out because of licensing but just left the ad rooms there empty.
Completely forgot this existed! Two most vivid memories of this game were the Cryptid Island and the Super Hero island.

I remember doing pelican rock as a kid and it took me like a week to figure it all out because i was dumb child brain, but when i finally figured it out i told my friends and they were flabbergasted because they had also been trying it and hadn't gotten it yet and i was the only person in my like 2nd grade class who figured that island out on my own for like 2 weeks before one of my friends did.
I recall all the in-between rooms being there for advertisements or events, with some empty rooms being there particularly for other player interaction

I didn't know you could get Poptropica on Steam. They didn't have the hallways when I was a kid but the last time I played it was a few years ago where I was an adult popping in like you are, and they showed IRL ads on in game billboards
Those spaces between levels usually will hold an ad billboard in the background that kids can click on. Advertising junk to kids.

Wow didn't think you'd make a video on poptropica ever I mean is it still alive? but this game was one of the games I've played in my childhood and I quite enjoyed it, never knew it was made by the guy that made diary of the wimpy kid which I also enjoyed that book series and movies

Despite this being a good video, my CZcams app really doesn't like it lol, firstly it sent me to a different video when I clicked on it, then it refused (and still refuses to do so) to show it on the channel, and for a while after I clicked on the video, it didn't show anything beyond the thumbnail until I reset the video.
