BMW may not have invented the idea of a premium four-door executive coupe but it could certainly be argued that they perfected it with this car, the 6 Series Gran Coupe. Elegant, beautifully finished and impressively efficient, it's one of the key choices on offer if you need something dynamically luxurious with four seats but have out-grown a full-sized Executive saloon and don't want anything limo-like. Here, we look at the cleverer, cleaner and smarter improved version that was launched in 2015. Is it a class leader from this era?

Best looking bmw ever 👌
Brilliant review the most comprehensive one on CZcams. Keep up the good work!
wow appreciate that!
Nice comprehensive review Jonathan. Thank you.
Bought my 2014 BMW 650 Gran Coupe earlier this year from a Cadillac dealer for only $29,000.. Only 51,000 miles, no problem. My 650 is the best BMW I have ever owned and I've owned 10 BMWs prior to this,
My 650 is quiet and elegant around town. It can be a powerful beast on the highway. The Bang & Olufsen high end Danish sound system makes this a rolling concert hall. I have been downloading my audio CD music. The 650 Juke Box can hold 40,000 sound tracks.
You only live once! The BMW 650i Gran Couple will change your life.
I’ve just bought a 640i Coupe with 55000 miles for £14000. SE spec and absolutely immaculate. Loads of extras. I’ve got all the paper work that shows a sell invoice price of £63000....!, Had the previous 630 too. I like a big coupe
How are you find driving and parking everyday on these small british streets, does it seem too big?
Great to hear U like it. Any issues with the engine? Heard it’s probably the best choice.
Totally me.
The 5 is just a little too muted for me with the m5 being too garish for me and yet the 7 being too uber posh to make sense for a daily driver. This hits the best of both in my opinion.
I test drove m5 and settled with 640i, M5 is a true sleeper car, the 6 series at least looks the part. Also 640i is a more practical daily.
Absolutely fantastic review. I've gone out and purchased one, the 640D, and am over the moon with it.
Amazing! So glad you enjoyed it.
I am seriously contemplating on on getting 1! Congrats on your purchase!
Did u buy a 2015? Also are u happy with it? I’m looking now.

@@Goldmember66 Recently bought a 2014 640i GC. Through BMW, I had M exhaust added and a stage 1 tuning. Now at 450hp and it’s amazing. Again, all work done by BMW.
Brilliant review Jonathan!! Six weeks ago I bought a 2014 640d 2 door coupe with 49000 miles for £25000, tuned to 410bhp with 720nm, This is the best car I think I have driven, absolute beast when I switch to SP mode...Don't even think about it if your considering, its a no brainer you will not be disappointed!!
thank you!

25k for that you got ripped off. Not sure i believe you. I paid £17k for mine in feb 2021, 2015 640i gc facelift, was cheap because high mileage, even then the same low mileage car was around £22k at that time.
@@Anythingyoulike2013 get stuffed
@@Anythingyoulike2013 depends on the spec. Had yours got 7K of optional extras? His could have it all. You might have low spec
Great review!
thank you!
Brilliant review, thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@CarandDrivingCarReviews it was excellent. Since last August I own a 2016 640D Gran Coupe, M Sport Plus, 20” wheels, heads up display, Harman Kardon etc. I previously owned a 2016 Golf R and while I know the 640D isn’t a sports car I’ve struggled to embrace it as I thought I would. I’ve owned a 530D M Sport and an assortment of 323s and 325s over the years so I thought I’d love the GC. It’s been a slow courtship but I’m starting to warm to her. I have a set of KW Street Comfort coil overs waiting to be installed and I’m hoping that and proper alignment will bring the handling to a slightly sportier but still compliant place 🤞🏻. I can let you know the results if you wish
It's a detailed review but no mention of what goes wrong with them.
🔥 🔥 🔥 I love that car I have the 2015 convertible twin turbo m6
Excellent car ❤❤❤
Great review, but noting that the handling at pace on 'narrow twisting country roads' is lacking is a little unrealistic. Anyone wanting that would buy a Lotus. Hardly a priority for buyers of these.
Why review a 640d whilst driving an M6
Because its the model most people buy.
Why is the check engine light on?
It's a BMW.
😅@@five-star-media
"Shows a 4.4 liter v8", says it's a 3 liter diesel 640d... 8 speed zf transmission... ( whil it's a 7 speed dct in the m6 he is driving, but crearly he doesn't know that...
I have a 640i coupe and it’s worth the $89k USD.
It's the M6, why you keep calling 6 series gran coupe. 🤦🏽
