    This one was a nightmare on PS3. Now they give you more time and the game functions more reasonably. I still use the same strategy to climb his arm since I'm bad at the proper sword jump. I lost a lot of time on the arm at the end, so I probably could have gotten a 2:30 kill.
    As a side note: I don't really like the fan nicknames, but it's weird not having recognizable boss names in the title, so I stuck with them.

      Half of the cases I can't even trigger its sword attack in the first minute. This 'artistic masterpiece' is the most frustrating game ever for me. Every button and every aspect of physics cheat against me.

    You're someone who clearly understands the mechanics of this game very well. You made this look fluid and effortless. I look like a drunken idiot in comparison when I play this game. Tried this Time Attack for 2 hours today with no luck. I have a hard time getting to his left arm without falling off. How do you make him do the animation where he was reaching back at about 2:22-2:23? It's THAT animation which lets you reach the arm sigil easily, but how do you make him do that?

    • @Dargonsouls
      @Dargonsouls  Před 4 lety +2

      Being on his right arm or shoulder when he's idle makes him do that animation. That was coincidental, since the time it takes from stabbing out his stomach to climbing to his arm took long enough to make him stand still for a moment. Notice at 2:02 how he's walking even when I'm still stabbing his stomach, then he stops sometime when I'm on his arm. If you want him to do this intentionally, you can just wait on his shoulder like I do at 1:32.

    Great video :) How did you manage to land all those charged hits without him shaking you at all? I barely can land half charged hits 😩

    • @Dargonsouls
      @Dargonsouls  Před 4 lety +4

      For the head, I got kinda lucky by finding the right spot. Usually I get shaken off a few times. Also, I wait around on his shoulder at 1:32 until he pauses, then he lifts his right arm up and down. During that animation, Wander is much more stable so it's easier to stab out the stomach sigil.

  • @darthythebalkancat6611
    @darthythebalkancat6611 Před 2 lety +1

    He is not doing any of this. Like when he first lunged the attack, so fast, that never happened in 40+ tries i did. so always gotta go at least 1 minute before i start going on his arm. 2nd that jump from the sword to his hip, OK, i get that, but then he never moves arm close enough for me to jump and go on his head. 3rd, when i`m on head, he just swirles too much, i can barely get hits in. I got 2 left, and stuck on this for 3 days now ffs

    • @Dargonsouls
      @Dargonsouls  Před 2 lety

      If I remember right, the first sword attack just depends on your position relative to him, so if you stay back too far (or go in too close), he won't use it no matter how much you try to provoke him. But still, the core of the strategy in the 2nd and 3rd points is what really makes the boss doable. In the video, or in your own gameplay, watch closely for him moving the sword up and down; he _always_ does this after he stops walking while you're on the sword, so if you're somehow not in the right position for him to do that up-and-down move when you first get on the sword, just look out for that. Although, it should be the first thing he does after he pulls his sword out of the ground. You have to quickly jump to the hip during the start of that up-and-down move and then jump back to the arm as he brings it down.
      Similarly, for any of the sigils you stab out, he's far more stable while he's doing the up-and-down animation with his sword, so you can stand on his shoulder until he stops walking and then immediately rush to one of the sigils. Although he doesn't waste time walking here, you can see the cue for the animation somewhere around 1:32 (he just kind of shuffles his feet for a bit and then stops, then starts lifting his sword up and down).
      I have this old unlisted video as well: czcams.com/video/ctdelReQvcI/video.html
      If you want, watch that one from 1:54 to see a clearer example of his walking, then he stops walking around 2:06 which is a perfect opportunity to go for any sigil you want, but I go for the stomach to get it out of the way since it's normally the hardest one for me.
      The reason I go for the head immediately at the start is because he still moves his sword up and down for a bit, and I happened to find the sweet spot on his head this time, but that doesn't usually happen. I usually get a few solid hits at the start then have to move away from his head. So, if you can't get more hits in, it's not worth it to be stubborn and keep trying to stab him; walk back to his shoulder and wait until he walks forward and then stops walking, then try again. You can try to finesse your footing on his head to be a bit faster but it's not worth it if you're just trying to beat it.
      Once you get the strategy, you'll be surprised how well it works. You might not need this trick for the left arm sigil though, because you're stable on that arm during part of the shaking when he moves his arm back (you might notice Wander lose his footing and kind of get flipped around). I truly hope the extra tips help because I've been using this strategy since the PS3 version which was even more busted, and I really admire this game and hope others get to fully complete it as well.

    Does hard mode need 6.30 minutes as well, cause normal I've struggled with my life to do it in time

    • @Dargonsouls
      @Dargonsouls  Před rokem

      Normal is 6 minutes while Hard is 6.30. It's honestly a pretty similar difficulty between the two, since that extra 30s should be enough to stab out the arm spot, but it used to be a lot worse since Hard required 5 mins on the PS2 and PS3 versions.

    • @justcalcio747
      @justcalcio747 Před rokem +1

      @Dargonsouls 5 min? That's mad, without the trick you are using. I thought it was less time since its hard mode but no idea there were more spots to hit, it makes more sense

      @@justcalcio747 Yeah, it was a nightmare. This colossus was the whole reason I decided to post my time attacks on the PS3 too, since once I found the strategy, I was able to do it consistently, but I didn't see any other video guides using the same strategy back then. They all seemed to get lucky.

  • @rudiverhoeven1735
    @rudiverhoeven1735 Před 4 lety +2

    Nicely done, but does not work for me. Can't make the jump from the sword. Too much things wrong with controls and stuff. I don't mind it being a time attack, but why did we have to do all the fruit eating and lizard killing? Here all those benefits are gone. All in all not a bad game, but forcing people to kill the same colossi over and over again for a platinum is pretty stupid. There should be a diamond trophy for people who finish the story of the game. I played lots of games where I will never get the platinum, but I did finish them (GTA, RDR2, AC, ....). And I have nothing to show for it. Sony, introduce a special trophy for game completion please :-).

    • @TheNickness
      @TheNickness Před 4 lety +1

      There are trophies for completing games, even the ones you quoted, they just are regular trophies, so you do have something that shows you finished those game.
      I just don't see how that matters, why do you need to prove people you finished them? Lol

      @Dargonsouls I remember this fight being my blockade and making me stop when I was a little kid on the Ps2. Even now, it's terrible. Gave my wife who has never played a game the controller and had her ride the horse, and she almost immediately got mad and said, "I'm about to throw the controller." As cool as this game's world is, the controls and physics can be infuriating. Beat the time attacks and got the platinum with these guides though, thanks.
