You can also customise the page templates in terms of colour of the background and of the lines to any colour at all. And do the same with the included covers too.

I would just emphasize, what you practically said between the lines towards the END:
Personally for me, the BIGGEST let-down of GN6 is just THAT, that we won't seeing all the USEFUL requested, more anolouge feeling updates we actually WANTED
EVER in GN"5" then, like:
- Internal Links, oh my gawd..
- Pencil,
- Layers,
- Grouping elements,
- Watercolour -brushes...,
--> actually being able to CUSTOM-COLOURIZE all folders and NOT with these garish limited ones.. (Why not a simple colour-wheel?!)
- who needed these limited ICONS, just use emojiis
- hideous new cartoon design of folders, worse than ever, I even miss the old ugly light-blue ones now
- folders still TOO BIG!! ( why cant we change the whole folder SYMBOLS? Or at least the SIZE?!)
- GN looks more crowded and chaotic than ever
- overall the UI ist too bold
- Tool-bar now even MORE DOMINANT Blue, unable to HIDE still when in EDITING MODE, I hoped that would have change by now.. ;-(
- Unnecessary AI, feels little "invasive" even
etc etc..)
But the WORST thing is that NOW they abolished the GN5 design, that was imo to 80%perfect, with a few annoying missing features, that one completely MISSED the spot.. But let's see..

PS: And YEAH, of course, as you mentioned, the SUBSCRIPTION model SUCKS as well ;-)
at least we should have MULTI-PLATFORM access when paying the ONE-TIME PAYMENT!
PPS: I also would be a FAN of a RADIAL MENU like in PROCREATE for my tools quick acess so we could HIDE the menu completely to have proper writing space!

I’m looking into switching to NoteShelf or Noteful. NoteShelf is coming out with a new version but stated on their Facebook page that it’s not a subscription 👍🏻

Completely agree! I wanted to make sure to give all the new features the spotlight, I acknowledge that for some they may be really amazing. But for those of using the app for creative/personal note taking, this update does feel like it missed the mark. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, excellent summary of some of the features I'm hopeful Goodnotes will introduce in the future.

Yes! if you use goodnotes, it will sync across all iOS (apple) devices through iCloud
Great video, love your planners. For sure sticking with 5 and already experimenting with Noteful which looks promising but hate that sticker books don’t exist. Can’t wait to get the 2024 planner
The sticker books definitely keep me coming back to GoodNotes! I'm overcommitted at this point :) I'm so happy to hear you love the planners! as you can see from my slow response, I've been hard at work on them, but they're up in the shop now.

Great video. For the text tool, on the bottom of the screen there appears to be a font icon below your keyboard. Does that work for changing font colour, size...etc. Also when it comes to price I feel GN is trying get a quick increase in revenue for some reason at $120 USD per year per users. As of 2011 it appeared they had 19 million users, if most users upgrade that is millions of dollars coming in quickly. I feel if they would just keep it at $9.99 per month per user they would have more users buying in to the upgrade. I am more thinking of doing the one time payment, I'm just not if there will be future restrictions that we are not aware of over and above the sync to multiple devices, as well as the limit backups.
Sorry for the slow response, just noticed I missed this comment! At the moment, I still don't think they offer support for changing text size - just a few options for heading/body text pre-set styles and sizes. I completely agree that the subscription model without any warning felt very abrupt for many users.

If you're just getting started with GoodNotes, the only version currently available is GoodNotes 6 and that's definitely the best version to start on since it's their latest update and will continue to receive updates in the future.

I won’t be update to GN 6 as I only use GN for digital planning and I don’t need any of the new features, especially AI.
Also I’m a very low income senior citizen so subscriptions are not in my budget.

Does GN6 have better shape editing features? Like having shape add/remove nodes, hatch/fills updating with the shape….
Edit: and hopefully they bring in dashed, dotted lines asap.
I haven't personally seen any changes to the shape tool, and I didn't see mention in the release notes, so I don't believe they made any changes in this latest version. I do think we will see dashed/pencil lines soon!
Can you crop photo on Goodnotes 6 like Notability?
Yes, you can! Just tap on the photo and select "crop" - you can crop both by dragging the handles in a rectange or freehand with your pen
I am trying to understand if there is a difference between the yearly subscription and the one time fee? Because I feel better paying 30$ one time vs 10$ per year. Basically since I'm 95% in the Apple ecosystem, I feel that 30$ a year is a worth while but what am I losing compared to the subscription?
I think the difference that was important to me is that the monthly subscription includes Goodnotes on the the Windows platform.
It's totally up to you! If you feel confident you'll stick with GoodNotes, the $30 fee allows you to just pay once.

Please tell me how to switch from a pen to a pencil? I can't find it at all
tap on the pencil icon in the toolbar and it will show all the options to change pen type, weight, etc.
I can’t get the colored pages to work.
If you don't see some of the options shown in my video, you may have to go to the app store and manually "update" to the latest version, hope that helps!
Hello , new to your channel and subscribed 😊 . Please do help, I have upgraded to goodnotes 6 today , i purchased from the marketplace a maths notes, Unfortunately all the page notes are in chinese ☹.
How can i change the entire document all pages to english ? , Is there any AI option to convert the entire document to english , rather than individual text converstion ?

I'm so sorry to hear about this! I've definitely noticed some bugs in Goodnotes with this latest release on my end as well, but they've been quick to fix them and their support is really helpful and responsive. For this specific issue, I'd suggest reaching out to Goodnotes support (support.goodnotes.com/hc/en-us) and they will definitely be able to help you resolve this
