I got to Miami at about 11pm on a Friday night, I'd hitchhiked from Dallas, Tx & a cop picked me up & dropped me at the only
store in the continental US in southern Florida. From there some dude in a van that was all locked up between front/back
picked me up & dropped me about half way down the Keys. That old bridge was quite a road to travel in the early 80's.
The "drug wars" had taken Miami by that time but I was going fishing & spent 11 months in Key West doing just that.
Thanks man, reminding me of old days

You know that 1st rig that got hung on the sandy bottom was probably a fish that grabbed it & dropped it and/or
the tide. That's some hard fishing off the water so high. Glad you're prepared. I didn't even have a net when I
      went down there but I took 2 rods, 1 a 13ft 3 piece surf rod & a smaller rig = yes, I hitched w/ them in hand.
Times were different & I was young -n- dumb, but lucky/
