Windows95Man "No Rules" REACTION: Finland ESC 2024

- Well that was suprising and unexpected, but okay.. Finland is going for crazy and fun once again. Windows95Man (the name about to change) will represent Suomi in Eurovision 2024 with "No Rules". Let's see, how it goes!
This was edited down from my UMK 2024 livestream, so excuse the quality :)) I hope to get it all working better by next Saturday and my Eesti Laul 2024 live.

There is so much bad in the world now, that I think people just need fun more than ever. And as for No rules, it's not completely joke entry. Performance yes, but song is good with deep meaning how it's ok to be who you are. 😊

Kaarija and WIndows95Man have noe completely demolished the stereotype of Finns as dour and cold and non-gregarious. Apparently they just need the right outlet for it. THIS is where we see how they can be "the happiest country in the world".
I agree on everything you said at your intro speech ❤ Respecting and not insulting others is so important, including Eurovision fans also.
And I really liked your reaction, too ❤ Let's give all artists a chance and not to decide beforehand who will succeed and who's not. It's not the most important in Eurovision, which I'd like to see as combining people, not separating them.
very good job Finnland🤍💙 - this was the best choice, there were 7 songs, 5 didnt thrill me, and one ballad was 2 overdepressive.... so this was the best choice although the strange int. Jury completly underrated this except the UK that gave 12 points..... 💙🤎🤎🧡 it will qualify cause its a great show and the vocals re better than last year.... and in the final there are lots of countries like Germany, Austria, UK, Irland.... that understand this humor better and appreciate this unique performance of the 90ies - definetly Top 10 in the final 💚💙💜
I've watched NO rules! over and over, ended up laughing so hard I cried 😅 W95man really grew on me, it's so good!! It's not just a joke entry, there's a message in the song. Yeah, they probably won't win, but I don't care. It's not like null points and NQs are a new thing in Finnish ESC history, it's not the end of the world. I really just want to see them on ESC stage❤️
I've been reading the hate comments online and jesus, people are sooo uptight.... No sense of humor, or if there is, it's so vanilla it barely registers. People appalled of W95man in his knickers forgetting that in ESC there are hordes of attractive women performers, and sometimes guys as well wearing just as skimpy outfits.
I listen to loads of different music genres and there are so many qualities which make a song great, but even if you don't like it, why be mean and put a performer down for something that's inherently about *you* and your tastes. Let's not repeat last year's mayhem, ESC is just entertainment. I think part of this vitriol is that most people have a need to be accepted, and for some the fear of ridicule, being different and ostracized is a huge hurdle to cross. But if you won't ever think why something makes you uncomfortable, or let your prejudices and other people's opinions hold you back, you may be stopping yourself from trying out new stuff that might be crazy, but also possibly awesome. We should lean into it more, like W95man. He's testing the ESC crowds to see how much of a conformist people are. No rules! ❤

Before the live performances Sara was by far my favourite, I'm not sure what went wrong with the live performance, but I found myself bored watching it. Windows95 man just won me over, so much better live than as a music video.

Sara was struggling live. I saw both rehersal and actual final and her rehersal singing was much, much better. I loved the staging tho.

I think ringing No Rules in English and then singing all the rest in Finnish would have made this so much better.
Sara Siipola's song was so serious, and staging so simplified, that her vocals should have been perfect for her to win. And we were expecting perfect vocals from her. While for this song, perfect vocals weren't required for obvious reasons.

@@JustSaying001 I agree, that the styling didn't do her any favour. We saw Loreen's mummy shreds already last year. For that kind of dark, dramatic song she should have been dressed in black or purple, or some other dark outfit. Something different than Loreen, in any case.

Finns are super critical in general. Sara was no doubt a favorite before the finals, but after her performance people went completely feral and dumped her because she didn’t sing perfectly. Many Finns also think that she resembled Loreen too much, and I quote someone: ”We can’t send a Loreen from Wish”. So Finns turned their support to Windows95man. I guess people had unrealistically high expectations for Sara and when she didn’t fulfill those, people were disappointed.
Most people probably hadn't picked a favourite. Sara is popular mainly among fans. I loved No Rules from the beginning, it's my type of music and performance.
@@Sipu97 I liked both tho. I adore the studio version and the music video of No Rules, but didn’t enjoy the live performance so much, because it was too messy and Henri sounded too out of breath. But it might grow on me.
@@Ispeakastronomy7 I loved how the energy came across on stage with the movements and camera angles. I feel like Kuori mua could have been elevated a lot if they also had a snappier (?) performance, now it felt a bit slow and empty on the stage. But I agree about Henri's singing, he was a bit out of breath and some sounds sounded a bit off. But then again, he was singing much better in the winner's encore so I have high hopes.
@@Sipu97 That’s very true! I think that Henri was both nervous and out of breath because of too much moving around. It’s hard to hit all those difficult notes when you can’t get enough air.

I’m from Finland and I think I still have a hard time to understand what happened there. I voted for Sara. 😕 Well, life goes on. And I have to admit, Windows95 man’s show was great, and it made me smile. Although I have some major problems with joke entries.
Ballads will stand out more? Have you took a look those songs in semifinal1? Most Of those songs are ballads Sara with her snooze song would have not never stand out from those others!!
"Windowsysiviisman" as we would say in Finnish. My favourite Sini was last (her live was disappointing) but "No rules" has been growing on me on last days. Sadly I don't think it's good that UMK has jury only at 25 % when in ESC it's 50 %. We are sending audience favorite songs that are getting shot down by jury votes.

Windows95man wasn't even a favorite. They were completely shocked by the win. It was such a surprise to them as well.
I think the show is great and a lot of effort has been put into it. Everything seen on stage has an explanation and there are several references to our culture
YLE/UMK has publicly stated that the act name shouldnt have to change, because "Windows 95" hasnt been a protected name/trademark for at least a decade if not longer.

A pity that another "fun" entry prevented the rest of Europe from hearing some of the really good Finnish artists there are on the local scene. YLIVOIMOINEN last year stayed high in the Finnish chart as did HOIDA MUT.
and they both got their revenge with the most epic openign act Ive ever seen in a national final. HOLY HELL, as a queer man I was living for the Salt & Pepper hot boys up their singing the duet on Kuumaa song, and then Benjamin slaying the entire nation of FInland with his rendition of Hoida Mut and a dance break that rival's Noa Kirel last year!

I dont know if this entry fits in Eurovision. Finland has a hangup to only send childish artists, they are not talking it seriosly. Maybe all countries should do it. And then we can call it "Wake up Eurovision" Its no longer about the song its only to make a fool of your self that counts. 😅
But each country must represent themselves, not try to fit into a tight box. Which is actually the message of this song as well.

Not really. This was not my favourite before the show, but after seeing this live at the Arena it blew my mind. The performance was so goood.people went absolutely bananas during this.
This was my favourite from the beginning, though I didn't expect it to win. It seems, that so didn't Windows95Man himself, either.
But I didn't support this to ride Käärijä. I just liked it. And I couldn't care less how it will do in the ESC, not after last year. The juries rigged it. I'm not even going to watch this year's ESC, though I have been following it over the last 40 years, because I think Sweden shouldn't have won with jury votes, and "Tattoo" was a cheap plagiate, that should have been disqualified for that reason.
Then I have to say to ESC and everybody criticising this song just one thing: "see if I care, see me slay!"
