I am just really discovering Soundgarden , and "grunge", from the beginning - U-men, Melvins (who I did listen to back in the late '80's, along with Throbbing Gristle), MLB, etc. Oh, my !!! 1986 - damn. He's speaking of the changing things up as you continue to write a song. It's weird, because that's the way I've always written my own music. There might be a studio version but when you come back to it, you want to refresh it and do something a little different, without changing the identity of it. This is especially evident for Soundgarden in their later years before Chris passed. The basslines and grooves with the guitars were slightly different, some hammer on's and pull offs had changed, but they also said they needed to revisit those recordings and listen and try to play those songs again live.

1. They already said they wouldn't continue with a different singer 2. Even if they were looking for a singer, saying 'I pissed off your friend and bandmate' probably wouldn't be the best way to get an audition 3. They never would have called you just because you left a comment on CZcams, without anything showing you can sing or even ways to contact you- especially if you left it on a channel that is not theirs.

The refusal of the autograph led to radio jokes and later songs. I knew these guys between the death of Andrew Wood and the release of PearlJam Ten. Eddie Vedder wasn't even around yet. You're input wasn't what I was soliciting. If you had been there, where we all were, you would understand. Also, there's a lot of personal information about what a lot of the music revolved around. So what I wrote was pretty much the only reference I could give. What I know about that time period is what Kim knows. And the reference to myself singing was in reference to the type of humor we were all into back then in Seattle.
My brother met Kim last September in Texas at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport and got a picture with him. He got me his autograph. I love Soundgarden
