From how that scene is framed, the detectives are doing the good cop, bad cop thing. It actually makes sense for bad cop to do that, which just makes it better.
Wait, so her name is “Duella,” as in a combination of “duo,” like TWO-face, and Cruella DeVille? She’s literally just her dad plus a Disney villain.
Actually it would be "duel" as in a fight between two people with an a at the end. To be fair, considering she's the daughter of Two-Face and Joker there are worse names her parents could have given her.
Sounds like someone got a name out of how "duality" sounds like.
Also gotta love how Robin's goggles have LED lights in them, making it so she can't see anything and has lights right in her eyes.

you need a bit of light still for it to work.
But...
if theres actual light from the sun or moon or anything thats bigger then a small torch youd blind yourself.
Thats why people usually turn em on n off or flip them up to see with their eyes.
You CAN train your eyes to see better ib the dark (what pirates do with their eyepatches. No its not cuz their eye was stabbed, they basically train 1 eye to be in constant darkness so they can see better in the dark.)
So turning the night vision on n off would work if it was possible.
@@johnynoway9127 I never had night vision but I don't remember seeing them being that bright(like the one Robin has) & the ones I saw has lights outside of the google not inside where they can shine directly onto your eyes, it's supposed to shine onto the object you are looking at

@@bubblybobabubbles I agree, because I just realized Gotham Knights and Madame Web both blew off a cool and unusual setup for themselves, by choosing not to develop their own new ensemble of legally viable heroes in a cool and unusual story that revolves around the death of Batman and the birth of Spiderman. For example, when the Madame Web movie says "When you take on responsibility, great power will come." could mean something to rest of the story if it had been written any better. If Anya, Julia and Maddie began the story with any dream, desire or personal motivation in their lives to be heroes, the story of Madame Web would progress more naturally, and I could buy the concept of making a comic book superhero film without any superpowers or supersuits that only appear in Cassandra's and Ezekiel's visions of the future. If Madame Web was any better at being a grounded story that focuses more on _acting_ than _action,_ it would not go through the motions and it would take the necessary steps to make Anya Corazon, Julia Cornwall and Maddie Franklin better characters who learn to be responsible heroes that can be trusted with superpowers they are destined to eventually have, and give them more of a reason to team up than just Ezekiel Sims and Cassandra Webb foreseeing them teaming up in the future. I typed out all of this information because I have watched Madame Web in movie theaters, but I can not speak for how Gotham Knights could have been improved because I never watch The CW anymore after The Flash and Supergirl ended. Idk…that premise could be amazing. Especially since it could also highlight how great a detective Bruce was cuz then it would be a murder mystery that if he was alive he’d totally solve. And it would explore how everyone responds to his death and how some want revenge and some are still mourning, etc. And they’d have to pick up the mantle and have some difficulties. Just like how Batman lost his parents the bat family would have to go through a similar arc.
It has to be written well, but it could’ve been such a cool concept about how Batman inspires people and other things.
It's crazy because I think a Gotham Knights story *can* work. For all it's faults, the game did it alright. The themes are interesting: Batman as a symbol rather than a person, the fulfilment of the Batfamily becoming their own people but still carrying his legacy, demonstrating how different characters like Dick, Jason, Tim and Barbara react to the loss of Bruce...
And they decided to make a show with none of that. Just a bunch of nobody characters doing nothing of note because I guess they couldn't get the rights to anyone worth having. It's just disappointing, more than anything.
If the people who created the Gotham Knights series for The CW are not good writers, then maybe they do not deserve the rights to Batman characters worth having! That is the only reason I can imagine to be any less upset about Gotham Knights not including them, instead having to make up new Batman heirs like Turner Hayes.

Agreed but it was written by people who hated Batman as a character. That's why they take away his scientific, deductive and inventive prowess is either nonexistent or in the case of deductive reasoning needing a intellectual crutch known as advanced tech to do the heavy lifting.

The real problem is that his 'kids' and successors deserve better. Carrie Kelly, Stephanie Brown, Harper and Cullen Row? All actual comic characters who deserve way better than this third rate bullshit.

All you need to know to understand this show is that it was written by the exact same writers pool that wrote Batwoman. That alone tells you everything.
Not really? Luke even if dumb a lot of times, was alright, the step sister was good or almost good, and Alice was great 90% of time. Could be not 90% of the time but haven't seen the show in years, also last seasons were horrible.

Mary was a raging narcissist with a victim/messiah complex who cried and whined whenever she didn't get her way. Not to mention the thousands of horrendous crimes she would have been guilty of running that clinic of hers which the show completely ignores. She's selfish, entitled, bratty and the only character who was a bigger piece of shit than the main character.
Alice annoying and a completely irrelevant character for most of the time with no sensical or coherent motivation and no reason to even exist past the first season and just rehashed the same plot lines over and over again.
And what do you mean "the last seasons were horrible"? You realize that isn't any kind of defence since there were only three seasons. If the last seasons were horrible in your eyes then you're still admitting that the vast majority of the show sucked.

I am happy that Jensen Ackles was too busy acting in Buddy Games: Spring Awakening to play Batman in the first episode of Gotham Knights. He played Batman's voice in a few animated DC films, Legion of Super Heroes and Crisis on Infinite Earths, but I would not want to see him play live-action Batman if he only appears in one scene to be killed off at the beginning of the show Gotham Knights. What really stings the most about stories like Gotham Knights and Madame Web is...they both ruin a unique idea that springboards off of a flagship comic book character when they tell an unusual story that begins with the death of Bruce Wayne or an unusual story that ends with the birth of Peter Parker. Gotham Knights and Madame Web are not handled with care and feel like a fan-fiction that tells a boring, lazy and underdeveloped story focusing on either new characters who are obscure parts of the comics or new characters made up for their respective stories, with no more than token efforts to flesh out a personality or a backstory for their generic new Bat-Lite or Spider-Lite heroes. So this version of Robin is supposed to be Carrie Kelley. So I guarantee the writes and casting department wanted a female Robin, probably wanted to race swap, and realised they couldn’t go with a darker skinned individual if they went for the Stephanie Brown Robin because someone would freak out over naming a dark skinned person Brown. In the end we’ve just been robbed of another ginger character. Also Carrie is supposed to wear glasses, so they really went “BiG gOGgLeS”

Turner Hayes was used because there is a DC embargo where characters can't appear within the same medium. Titans were ongoing and all three robins were in the show, so another Tim Drake, Jason Todd and Dick Grayson weren't possible.

I actually think that Duella is the best character in the show. She is the only one that can kind acts and everyone else is so bland that her evil mischief is actually kind refreshing. Plus she’s a ass to character I don’t like, witch is all of them, so that’s a plus.
Somehow, Gotham Knights end up being worse than Batwoman. At least Batwoman had a lot of so bad it's good moments.

The blueprints were all there to make something cool like what the video game could’ve been, but they ruin it. But there is one big question we must ask, is this show worst than Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League

Gotham Knights is a perfect show to watch if you want to watch an abysmally depressing series that shows us how Gotham City is worse off with Batman dead, because the designated heroes are even bigger criminals than the villains because in Duella's words, "This is Gotham, and in Gotham, villains get things done." This might be tolerable or enjoyable to watch if Gotham Knights was a comedy mean to satirize botched vigilanteism with new people who do not know how to do Batman's job properly, but it is not even a comedy! 😭Oh, I truly hate what Star Trek: Discovery, Titans, Batwoman, Velma and Gotham Knights are doing to skew their viewers' perception of morality while expecting the audience to automatically like their diverse female anti-heroes! What you just told me about Duella made me realize she is a slightly crueler version of Velma Kaling: Both are shown to be evil heroines we should despise, yet the narrative pulls every trick in the book to tell us we should root for them because of their tragic past that passes for sympathy points. It is this type of bad shows with abysmal storytelling with hypocritically inconsistent writing that makes me glad that The CW never got Powerpuff off the ground between Batwoman and Gotham Knights. I will be back next week for your next video on Gotham Knights. (gasp) I am not surprised, but I am still horrified that Gotham Knights is this terrible that you need to make two half-hour videos about it being the worst superhero show, instead of just one like you did with Titan. The show got better as it went along IMO. At least its Elseworlds (and they gave an explanation for Batman's death in episode 4.) MUCH more tolerable than the later 'quirky cringe' seasons of The Flash for the most part. I would rather sit through a single season of this than 4 or 5 seasons of Hallmark Christmas movie Flash written by Eric Wallace.

I assume you're referring to Black Lives Matter and police corruption, which I would expect a modern day poophole city like Gotham to fall into.
So when they tackle sensitive issues and bad guys do bad things it's' "too political" but when protagonists do something you find questionable without the right context (Arrow and Gotham must have been awful, huh?) then it becomes a moral issue.

@@SilhouettedAnimator Oh, no, you misunderstand. It's the fact that they swapped out Kate Kane, the literal Batwoman protagonist, for Ryan Wilder (the Black Lives Matter-inspired original character). They could've easily just race-swapped an existing Bat-family character or waited to finalize the Kate Kane recast, but going with an entirely new character is kinda cringe. Plus said new character went on to plague Flash, which makes it harder to ignore in-universe.
Did not have an issue with Arrow, Flash, or Gotham with how they handled police corruption and all that though.
