I've got a 08 with 170 k on it. The motor has seen Red Line over 1,400 times and it still starts and runs like butter
1,400 that's it
I still have my 09 Si Coupe. Bone stock. Bought it from a one owner gentleman who is in his 40s now. Babied that thing and kept in a garage most of its life. It had 102,000 miles when I bought it back in 2019. It now has a little over 156,000 miles. I still get looks from some folks. I always look back at my Si every time I park it, when it's clean of course lol! It's just that good looking of a car. The 8th gens, I think, were the last great Civics IMO.
Last great civic unfortunately, last engine that revs high from Honda. Only 2.0L engine N/A who can produce 200hp stock, 8400rpm redline, what a beast. 5th, 6th and 8th will be forever in my heart
@@henrique-3d8000 redline, 8200 fuel cut-off
The rev hang is fierce with this one.
Rev hang can be removed using a laptop tune
Listening with headphones makes a huge difference . With my computer speakers it sounds like a nice 4 cylinder , with the headphones it sounds like ur in the car .
StrongsvilleGUY agree, I happen to use hp once coz I had to, usually my shitty speaker does just fine. But man that time it was video about gtr ( doung review) you can almost hear the gears and shaft, which make huge difference
Yes i felt same with headphones on
It really depends how good or bad your headphones sound, and how good or bad your speakers sound. I think either home theatre or even reasonable hi-fi speakers or studio monitors sound quite a bit better and more lifelike than, say, the Audio Technica open-back headphones I have (or the Beyerdynamic DT770 or budget-level AKG closed-back headphones I had either)... All the headphones very much sounded 'like headphones' to me, with quite some limitations compared to speakers. :/
Ahhh my old car! Miss that thing. Though the 9th gen Si I currently have is a great replacement. I recommend this car to anyone on a budget. Great fun!
Monopoly Bro what’s your instagram? do you have photos of this car on there?
0:31 i just love that startup sound!!
I love the older ones better, circa 1990-1999, I love the ones after that too.
Looks solid for that many miles; I always liked these but in the sedan configuration.
Cuban Rider ya I’d like to find a sedan SI to commute with. Fun to drive don’t really care about speed and cheaper on gas then my Tundra lol
I had a metallic blue si sedan. Funnest car ever
Probably the best video on your channel
Such a fun car honestly to drive. It might be an unpopular opinion, but it's one of my favorites for what it was intended for its time too.
I have a 2008 civic si sedan and watching the way you drive this car drives me nuts
Jacob Keats what’s wrong with his driving?
Tell me about it so tilted watching this, was supposed to be my chill internet time after work AND I GET THIS!
Lots of coasting in neutral with clutch in for one thing.
@@K9Clyde To me it seems like that's due to the rev hang
aye dude i’ve been watching some of your vids and honestly holy moly you’re good at reviewing cars. nice man
This is my favorite body style of the Si.
Definitely my favorite civic after the year 2000. That K20Z3 is a screamer.
Redic rev hang but hondata tune can fix that im pretty sure
B16, B18 and K20 the best sounding Honda engines
2:00 VTEC kicks in at 6K
Javian Johnson 5800 i used to have one of these
Mithex lol really can’t let the 200 he was off go eh
Logan Bower lmaoooooo
The car is even more fun when you get a hondata tune and set the vtech at 4500 rpm so fun
Best interior design Honda ever made
mohammed in no not really. It’s hideous 🤢
9th gens do they have a carbon fiber layout in the interior
I miss my '08 Si so bad. Only had a Injen short ram intake on it. The sounds difference was orgasmic!!!
Ugliest interior honda has designed
Clearly you havnt seen the type r
I love that Sound and the vtec 💥💣
Honda/Acura makes the best sounding engine music to the ears.
Brings back memories of my 2006 galaxy grey Civic Si I had from 2006-11. Great car and miss it!
2:00 vtec just kicked in yo
I was gonna said that 😂
IT SOUNDS LIKE MCLAREN 12C
2:03 *
Si we ahí andábamos echando cheve un ratillo namas
@@hankhill5622 u just couldn't let those 3 sec go
The sound is so immersive when wearing headphones!
Damn bro! This is fuel efficient car even you are pushing it to limits still no fuel lights are gone!
This might be the first Honda I’ve seen in Michigan
King of the VTEC Hondas
Great VTEC!!! I hope see a video about BMW 330CI in the future.
I watch the Tropher review. Didnt know you were related. Very cool sound 💪💪
k24hybrid he is the topher, the topher owns this channel
I just left my 2007 Si behind... I'm happy to have left it much more than I miss it, but some things are a fond memory... that K-series scream! The seats were pretty wonderful, too. My new car came stock with Recaros and they feel like a step down in nearly every way.
What car did you get after your Civic?
Why’d you ditch it?
I've got one of these. It's an amazing car!
2:00 vroooo OOOOOM *Shifts* *VTEC!*
Idk why but that shit is nostalgic cuz my dad would do that everytime to get on the freeway for school lol
@@santi00_ ikr so beautiful
i love when you do 8th gen si videos
Why was that so satisfying
I just bought FlashPro last week. The fact the rev hang is completely gone it drives like a different car. Love my Fg2!!
Blaze Von.Wolfsburg
Video?
I bought a Civic sedan model, 196k miles, and it feels like butter!
I love the civic coupe any model any year.
About some days ago I got into an accident with my CR-Z so today I might be going to look at a Civic Si Coupe, all original unmodified, hope its a good deal
Boy, that rev hang is serious
I miss my 2010 Si... :( It was stock except for an intake. It wasn't the fastest car, but man I loved rowing through the gears and winding it out to the red line. Traded it in for an SUV when we started having kids.
Damn kids will do it to you, but honestly I would still haul my kids around in it daily. I remember back in the day my dad carried me and my brothers around in a small Ford ranger. There were two side seats behind the front seats. It was very cramp, we rode in that till we were teens.
Must suck to be boring, huh? Cars clearly have no backseats, and if you're going to say "but I had a coupe" - yeah, they sure don't make sedans. Guys kill me with how much they let their wife dictate what car they're going to drive, because the women always want a Shitty Useless Vehicle. Need all that ground clearance and big tires to run over all the curbs and shit...
@@Shintsu2 lol, honestly a family car can still be a coupe. We grew up in small vehicles and didn't need a large SUV. My dad only went to a large truck in the late 90s because he wanted to be flashy but it really didn't add to the family hauling potential.
People always think if they have kids they need to get an SUV or Minivan for some reason. I guess the marketing teams are doing their jobs right. You and your kids aren’t any safer in an SUV, in fact you’re more likely to get into a rollover crash in one where you can get more seriously injured.
@@alansmilealot that's so funny
Hitting the vtech sounds 👌👌👌👌
So nice!
My engine light doesn’t turn on when I turn on the ignition without turning the car fully on, is that normal? I have a 2006 Honda Si
hey dude. Love your videos ,they are basically my asmr now. Just kinda wondering where you put your cam. Pretty sure you use head mount. I put it on head too (of course with mount),but the angel seems way high up. I am seating as low as i could but it still too high. Any tips for that? Thanks
What camera and mount did you use to record your POV?
that granny shift tho lmao
This car has lots of rev hang. It's literally impossible to shift fast unless you're fine with jerkiness.
@@natebarry5553 nah that’s not true kiddo
@@Ghosts-jx7dw Haha, that's a funny way of saying you own this car and you're embarrassed about the Rev hang kiddo
@@natebarry5553 nah, you can definitely shift fast in civics. You talk a lot like you have owned the car. I own multiple cars....rev hang is there but it isn’t terrible. And remember this is in comparison to his granny shifting....go bitch someone else before hating.
@@Ghosts-jx7dw I wasn't bitching about it, just making an observation. I have never owned a Honda. And I also have multiple cars (if you count the wife's) so way to flex unnecessarily, Civic man.
Too many bumps on the road to really enjoy the ride... I liked the sound of the motor.
Nice man!!! Please brooo get your hands on a 2019 1LE and do a day/night drive would be awesome
Just bought one , the most fun car I’ve had , although I’ve only owned a couple old accords
Is the rev hang bad?
@@_u0nda928 it’s there but honestly doesn’t make the car less fun
@@martin1zatar Okay because for some reason I just now noticed the rev hang in the video and got a bit scared lol
The good old days
I JUST BOUGHT THE 2008 CIVIC IN BLACK ...YA THESE 8 GEN CIVICS ARE FUN TO DRIVE ...
Vtec is nuts! Holly molly
Classic 8thgen Rev Hang lol. Great video nonetheless
why you like sliding in neutral?
I like that driving sauce lol
Holy hell this sounds great with headphones on! Any way to fix the rev hang or does it not matter? Engine seems worth the price of admission.
Hondata flash pro
The and the 9th gens were the last high-revving Honda Civics since the 90s
VTEC for life!!!!
I have this same car also stock and the slightest bump or pothole violently shakes the car and makes a really loud sound. Is it because of the “sport tuned” suspension or could it just be my suspension?
Stiff suspension bro I have this car unless you have damaged suspension but it always feels rough with this car compared to others I’ve had.
LOVE SI.. HOPE TO HAVE THAT CAR SOMEDAY..
Keep grindin 🙏🏼 took me two years and it was worth it
@@brycehubbard1796 I'll do it man!!! God bless! ☝️👊🤙
So beautiful and I love the engine sound 😍
Aged pretty well
What state ur on?
Best honda civic
Great video, when this car was launched in Brazil the biggest problem was that we do not received the coupe version, just the sedan version.
Now I'm looking for a coupe version in Canada to buy. This car is just amazing, I want one to use on the weekends.
Thanks for sharing!
I got mine tuned and exedy cluth for the 3rd /rev hangs problems. Not that hard of a fix really.
These things have crazy rev hang... Really stupid for this kind of car.
I agree, I hate it even with my 2012 si, apparently Hondata tune can help eliminate it.
Phil3555 hondata tune is your answer
Yeahh, id say Hondata tune and upgraded clutch with lightweight fly wheel should help alot
$700 for hondata 🤦♂️
Hondata flashpro has an option to turn it off and turn off 1st gear smoothing and it feels so responsive now. much different after the flash
I like it
កប់ខ្លាំងខ្ញុំស្រឡាញ់ឡាន
What's rev hang?
I forgot how bad the stock rev hang, is this guy needs a FlashPro. Also lowers the VTEC so it's less dramatic but feels like a different car just with the stock tune. That plus a good CAI like the Hybrid Racing 3.5" are must do mods for a 8th gen imo
Does a flash tune eliminate the rev hang completely?
@@seanmccullough6077 The revs wont drop as fast as a car with a throttle cable but it's honestly good enough.
Why would I want vtec engaged at 4500 for a commuter car? This is no race car. If gas mileage wasn't mediocre enough.
Why don’t you drive the maxima?
i love my 17 civic Si i just wish they kept vtec when they added the turbos to them
Wooooow unbeliveble!
WTF
Oh I miss this car, but my 09 s2k makes it all worth it
2:04 Vtec kicked in
You backed out of that parking spot.....lol
My 1999 Civic SI will smoke that any day!!!

With that puny little b16....😂
VTEC in 4D :))
Top mais um inscrito Aki
Engine?
such a big highway but the speed limit is so slow
Lmao he's really gonna reverse out on an open lot 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
gotta emulate an actual test drive for the viewers
2:00 VTEC JUST KICKED IN YO!
VTEC is life...
2:00 for ludicrous V-TEC
Where is this?
Detroit
Is stock?
Yes
What is up with that rev hang?
Stock tune sucks on these cars. Getting a protune literally fixes that and makes the car so much better overall
Kind of a random question but what’s Michigan like? I’m in Virginia but I’m applying to uni Michigan Ann Arbor
It's nice, four distinct seasons, not too crazy of winters in that part of Michigan, a real spring and fall, lots of natural beauty in Michigan, especially up north and on the west side of the state with Lake Michigan.
Is that Sofyan Bey from Redline reviews ???!
This guy can't drive to save his life
Favourite notification again!
I'd like to drive an SI with a turbo on it.
Mph or Km/h?
Felipe Toledo mph
I want this kinds of car with the gear shift
Ok
My uncle have one of those Honda Civic si 2008
