just so beautiful. I could listen to this all night long. I don't think anyone else should ever be allowed to sing this song!! RIP Iz thank you for sharing your gift.
I love this guys music. I can't say I am from Hawaii. However, my family is from there going back 6 generations now. This culture is still alive and well within our family. Much love and respect.
I am proud to have been born during the time my dad was stationed at Hickam AFB and am humbled to be included in any way as a Hawaiian, even if only because I was born there. This is a beautiful culture and I long to return to Hawaii soon!
Although I'm not Hawaiian and I don't understand this song at all. But I feel a lot of feelings and souls in this song. I don't know why my eyes start to tear out. I don't cry....it is my feeling exploded. Maybe I start to love you 'IZ'.
RIP brah.. Your music always strike my heart and soul.. Mahalo!
All Hawaiians and Hawaii residents can make Hawaii the best place in the world by educating themselves as much as possible about Hawaii. Because if you really love Hawaii, you know there is no place in the world like it and we all need to appreciate it more.
Much respect and Aloha to all Hawaiians and Hawaii residents and visitors.
Peace from Wailua Nui, Keanae, Maui
What a beautiful national song
Thank you for posting this video...this is my brother favorite song to sing for our dad...blees him and braddah Iz..IZ the voice of our culture!

Iz is Hawaii. Happy Birthday my bruddah.
You soothe my soul.

Dude...when I was watching BJ's entrance...The way he came in with the demeanor and attitude he came in with...That was the tightest thing I've ever seen in the UFC. BJ you the man!!! Brudda IZ, you'll never be forgotten you're the man!
Braddah IZ, may u rest in peace brah. I'm Hawaiian/Japanese wit a LOT of Hawaiian pride, and your music is just amazing. Keep playin for da Ali'i up in heaven brah, and i hope that your music inspires more of da Hawaiian people to stand up for themselves like it has for me. Mahalos brah, I hope you're enjoyin heaven, you deserve it^^
B.J Penn put me up to Braddah Iz I had no idea he existed. I always wonder what was that music everytime he fought so i researched and discovered one of the finest creations of God. Icing on the cake for me was Braddah Iz and I were born on the same day. May 20. E Ala E. How about that. Rest in Peace brother.
he loved everyone why cant more love like he did,he cared but the land and the people and had the voice of angel please show respect here he had many followers and family wife and daughter
Does not matter if you are black, white, yellow or red my friend. The main problem in this world is when the people do not respect the differences and try to "kill" a lifestyle or a culture. God creates us all and makes all different. That makes this world wonderful and amazing. If everyone apreciate that, this world would be a better place.
He is now with his brother Skippy, always forever in my heart cousin.....until we meet again
Simply outstanding. Thanks, again, peasefrawg.
I WISH they would make a movie about the life of IZ. So many of his beautiful friends and family could share in the documentary ... if only. His entire story should be put on film, to last forever, to all.
~Aloha IZ, you live in your new life ~ and continue to inspire with your LOVE.
i love this song my uncle would always play this song till now it's a wonderful song
das macht den kalten winter etwas wärmer!
danke herr kamakawiwo´ole!!!!!
Right on, even though I'm only Oahu Grown, I highly respect and do everything I can to learn more in depth of the Hawaiian History, Language, and Origins along with my Chamorro roots. INDIGENOUS LIFE!
What Hawai'i has taught me, is that we are all cousins. When you really view all of humanity as part of your extended family, there is no hate. You cannot hate your brother. You cannot steal from your brother. You cannot kill your brother. I wish more could understand this. Aloha au Hawaii a bruddah Iz. :]
-I lucked into Bruddah Iz when a Hawaiian friend of mine gave me some of his music. I have always felt, my soul belongs to those Islands. Love this song, and miss the big bruddah, thanks for posting.....
-When this music hit, the place stopped cold. I was there for BJ Penn vs Jens Pulver 2. When Bruddah Iz started to play, the music sent a vibe, & you just knew BJ was going to win. I didn't see his face until I got back home and watched the tape. Damn, Jens didn't have a chance.
im filipino and man im lovin the music of Bruddah Lz..... and hopefully i can visit Hawaii soon. :)
I grew up in hawai'i, but i am haolie. I support and believe that the hawaiian people should be self-governed. I feel very strongly about this because of the ugliness that industrialization has brought upon the state. I go back every summer. and everytime I go back it is becoming worse and worse. tourism has taken over. and I hope and pray that native people can someday hold their own and fight against this.
you are an "ANGEL" I am glad I have come to know your voice. R.I.P :)
i dont know why anyone would hate on this guy. his voice is obviously really nice, and i have no doubt his personality was as well. people who dont have respect for other races and cultures only creates bad connotations for their own races
Man when the world ends this song should be played through out the islands because we are the Hawaiian Nation so we must stand as one like how Isreal Kamakawiwo'ole Aka Braddah Iz is telling us right now
Just found this.
He was awesome.
I cried too when I saw them pour his ashes out.
Desde Colombia mis respetos por este gran artista . Aloha.
I Thank my Brother for sharing IZ with me.
Such a beautiful song !
this song is so wonderful
its my dream forever to move from sweden to hawaii
i was born and raised on the North Shore of Oahu. I am haole on the outside, and Hawaiian on the intside. i grew up studying Hawaiianna, singing the Hawaiian anthem, and respecting the people and the land. I truely believe these posts would make IZ very very sad if he was still with us. IZ was very loving and accepting of all races and realized we were all children of God, before anything else (including Hawaiian sovereignty). Lets learn how to accept others and respect our differences please !
Braddah IZ.....the gentle giant....Aloha my braddah
Great song, as all from IZ are.....
And guys, plz don't be angry with all the ha'oles for no reason. There are many who are on your side and feel the same way. Peaceful fight for hawaiian independence!
Y do sum people ruin the memory of dis sweet person.I dnt no hu Iz is,but thru his expression in his songs, hes jst like u n me,so lets not choose our book by d cover.Frm my heart Iz,rest in peace.

Oh IZ,
Che tutto l'Amore e gli Inni alla Vita
che hai lasciato che la Tua Voce esprimesse,
esortino a osare
quelle persone che sono pronte, come Te,
a camminare nella realtà di tutti i giorni
le proprie Parole di Verità.
He was, and is, so very precious - oh, how much he is missed. We must be true to what he asked of us, regardless how much dirt those with haole hearts throw at us. We ARE a true melting pot, showing love to all.
From one with white skin, heart of Hawaii. On the side of right for the Kanaka Maoli forever.
fijikid, Thanks for the insight...most people would hope hawaiians would get a big chunk of tourist dollars... they deserve it. Onelove
He was a beautiful man.
i wish we still had our kingdom... america takes it from us and gives us nothing... i fell sorry 4 our royals..
Get up Stand up !
International vibez
Thanks peacefrawg :-)
One Love
E ALA E ...... his message to the world
Это удивительно, как можно таким тихим мелодичным голосом петь такую мотивирующую песню. Почти боевой марш или гимн свободе.
I don't get people that don't like this song and you hawaiian and he singing this song about how they took thee aina away from us .
i agree
i am hawaiian
it flows hot through my veins
i am part of a now minority race in its own homeland of Hawai'i
Calling all hawaiians you must malama the kuleana
keiki o hawai'i is killing each other
no more a'ole its not pono
aloha,
KAUNALOA

My god this is one powerful song next to Hawaii 78 ^^
E Ala E !!!! Thxs for uploading !!
love from Lithuania :)
now, that being said, why so much hate for people now? that was over a hundred years ago, and i believe people now aren't trying to disrespect the hawaiian culture, we're just pretty ignorant. i recently visited kauai and found it to be an enchanting place, nothing like what i am used to (iowa)!! maybe people go there to feel and experience what i did when i was there. mahalo from iowa!!
I miss him already
i love this.... beautiful
IZ Forever!!!!!! Mahalo!
Kanakahaiku, I was on a trip to Maui last year, I rented a mustang convertible, Hawaiians know in a heartbeat that ur a tourist,we were heading north when my girl was getting freaked out,so we turned around,a truck was coming towards us,and as soon as they got near us they chucked fruit all over the front windshield,I love and respect the hawaiian culture, Maui local folks had the worst attitudes,Tourism accounts for almost every dollar made in hawaii
nothing but respect rip bruddah iz
Right on Bradda IZ!
BJ without a doubt DESERVED to come out to this song. He is a legend, period. The guy got his black belt in BJJ in just 3 years, and in those 3 years he was winning world championships. Penn has beaten the best in multiple wgt divisions of the who's who in MMA. He lost to the better fighter at that weight class. Many still believe that Penn is pound for pound the best in the game. I say he's one of the best pound for pound in the history of MMA.
GOD BLESS THE KINGDOM OF HAWAII!...LIBERTY!
this song always gives me chills! and prod to Be Hawaiian!, cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee R.I.P and Rest in Love Uncle IZ
All I know is that that I love and respect the Hawaiian Islands, the people and culture, 1 not so great experience isnt going to ruin it for me, dropping lots of money there, to me is helping all Hawaiians whether they like it or not. The only people that can remove the hate are the parents of the next generation.I get the frustration, the Chaldeans from Iraq are taking over my town and it pisses me off everyday.
LOVE THIS SONG
I may not be Hawaiian, but my family is from the Big Island. I support the independence movement, and my family's been treated like crap by the US government. Almost all of them I know were put in the Japanese internment camps (I'm Japanese/Chinese). Many of them still haven't received compensation. Free Hawai'i.
Sehr guter Sänger mit Spitze Stimme
Wow, this is powerful.
brah Ea for our land!!! i ready for the fight die for my lands!!!!
Fiji Kid you make the pacific islanders ashamed of you! BJ is hawaiian at heart and is representing the islands on a national stage, that's alot more than you are doing for the hawaiian nation.
Love IZ
WHAT A MAN
Everyone wants to be self governed. Everyone wants to be free.
great song!!!
ok now i'm crying.
Gone to soon....R.I.P IZ
BTW I am a huge supporter of the Hawaiian culture as I am with most cultures.
what a legend
i e al love this song
Yauno, Kanosa. Same goes for the Carrizo/Comecrudo Tribe of Texas. BE SOLID BRO. Juan Mancias
Great music performed by a great artist. I just discovered IZ and I'm scanning CZcams for all the great sounds he provided during his short time on earth. While his music puts a smile on my face, I have to say, I'm saddened at what the comment section below has to offer. It should be a place to honor the memory of a human being whom gave his soul through his music. Instead, the BLOGGGGGG below is full of ignorance. CZcams needs to monitor it's subject matter a little more closely.
My father and some of his friends took part in the riots shown in the vid. I wasn't even born yet when the 'Iolani Palace riots went down.
IZ rocks!
marvelous voice! pity he left so early!!!
TURN IT UP, MAGIC..
To steal from someone is very bad, to steal their land is very bad to steal a culture is very bad, but when you try to destroy a whole race of people that is unforgivable! That is what my brudda is saying!
Aloha Bruddah IZ!
It made me want to go to hawaii
Alamihi is a type of crab that the hawaiian's used to always harvest. It was an important part of their diet. Not only did they eat them, but Kupuna's (grandmothers) often told myths and legends of the alamihi to their keiki's (children).
I am of Western European (Scottish, English, French) descent, ie, not Polynesian nor Hawaiian, but this is really good stuff.
Damn straight!
Hey dude, for the first 5 years of my life I thought my name was "howlee". My stepdad knew Iz fairly well and I can't think of anyone that had a better set of pipes than Iz.
Aloha Nui Loa Brudda! R.I.P IZ...the other Hawaiian superman!
i like this song and
Take care brother. You will be missed in Hawaii. A hui hou!
