When I first heard this song a few years ago I immediately became a Patron. The next legit super group.
Yeah, Ale is the Queen of the bass slide. This Mexico City 2022 concert was their biggest solo event of their career at that time. The fans from their home country know their songs well. Yes they were loving the appreciation by the fans. Their last concert of 2022 was in Lima, Peru. A country they had never performed in. A sold out crowd sang EVERY SONG with them. They were beyond amazed with the crowd. But that is TWA, we are loyal and devoted.
The level of love amongst their fans is really something to behold
TW has several styles of rock but they are invariably pure rock!!
With their structure, their breaks, pauses, transitions, rhythm changes, modulations, choruses, pre-choruses, drum attacks, their endings…
Each of their pieces can be very different, but always with all the TW flavor.
It’s more than clear that these sisters have no limits.
They are the queens of the hook, the riff, the contagious rhythms, catchy melodies and the ambiguous but profound messages…

What must be even more gratifying for them is when the crowd always sings along with them in English even when they perform in non English speaking countries as they are here in Mexico.
Animosity was written by Pau about someone who did her wrong in a relationship. Although it would be awesome to be the inspiration for a song, the wrath of Pau is a high price to pay.

I figure it works both ways - I gleefully sing their Spanish songs out loud, even though I'm a native English speaker. 😋
(My wife is baffled that I can do that; it helps having a best friend of Mexican descent, who's mother insisted all us kids had to speak to her in Spanish. She spoke English perfectly well, but she found it appalling that most Americans can't speak any other language and set about single-handedly changing that - at least, among a group of friends in our neighborhood. At 90+ years old, she's still my "second mom" even 50 years later, and I love the whole family to pieces...)

Ok last week they were on one of those rock and roll cruises. Fans were joking if they should play this with the mayday ship is going down reference. Monday night they played it , Tues morning a storm hit and the ship crashed into a dock. The ship was delayed 8 hours for repairs. Did not stop the girls they played it as their opening song on their Friday set on the ship. Friday night the cruise closed with an all star jam session of the 30 or so bands there. The Warning had the honor of playing the final song with Michael Starr Highway to Hell.
The big joke was whether they’d be able to play that one on board the Shiprocked cruise they just went on last week. The captain probably isn’t too keen on people shouting Mayday, Mayday, this ship is going down. 😅😅😅😅

I turn 60 this year, and I haven't been as excited about a new band since I was in my teens or twenties as I have been about The Warning since I discovered them little more than a year ago! They are just outstanding in every aspect, and I can't wait until I have a chance to see them live!
Every song from the Teatro Metropolitan concert is a banger. The Warning has been my favorite band for over 5 years They never write a bad song. Enjoying your channel !!

You’re now officially on the gravy train 😂 Every single song you listen to will be your favourite, no getting out of it, it just doesn’t work! They absolutely don’t make a song that is even mediocre, in the 10 years I’ve watched and listened to them I’ve not once disliked a song, even the covers! Last year I saw them on tour with Muse - a double whammy for me, I hadn’t seen Muse since my daughter was at University, it was so good to see them but it was my first time seeing The Warning live, Muse just faded into oblivion for me, the girls were so full of energy and power it was just 🤯. I’m seeing them again this year, I just managed to get tickets reasonably local before they sold out - that was on the second day of availability! Can’t wait until April 🤘🏻

Favorite The Warning song? The last one I listened to.
Just keep going with the Teatro concert. It has become one of my favorite top 10 live concert videos of all time (Queen at Wembley, Rush in Rio, Talking Heads “Stop Making Sense”, The Who “Live at Leeds”, Nightwish at Wacken 2013, among others)
There's another live concert film that's great... can't remember the specific name.. but it's The Police. I'm pretty sure it was in a Spanish speaking country. GREAT video and sound quality. Thanks for commenting and watching!
@@RockandRollRelic When you're done with Teatro Metropolitan, look up the "Queen of the Murder Scene" concert at Lunario CDMX in 2017. It's a full presentation of their 2nd album, which tells the story of unrequited love that turns to obsession & leads to murder, madness, and death. It's as good or better than any of the rock concept albums from the 1970s.
Oh, and they were 17, 15, and 13 at the time of the concert.

@@RockandRollRelichaha, true!...I still buy my favorite films on blu ray/4K rather than rely on the uncertainties and limitations of streaming...not to mention censorship these days. And I several music concerts on blu ray and love to throw them on the big screen every now and then. The Teatro Metro concert would be great to have on physical!
this song was written by pau . One of her (former) friends wanted her to hang out with him instead of playing music because the band would never take her far.

Dani's guitar work does not get the appreciation that it deserves. Her work on this song is just stellar. She almost never plays flashy solos (although her lead on When I'm Alone is David Gilmore level). She plays what serves the song. The little discordant trills she plays under her vocals on the verses make the song shimmer.

This is one where you need to see the official music video. It is a collaboration with the WebToon, "I am the Grim Reaper". Actually, the best way is to watch the video of the band's reaction to the video (and Graveweaver's, too).
If you're going to do that, read the first three or four chapters of "I'm the Grim Reaper". Having the context makes the video hit so much harder.
Your last favorit The Warning song is usually the last one you have heard.
If you haven't yet, you should "experience" their performance of "evolve" they did LIVE for MTV Video Music Awards - PERFECT and KILLER!!!

Thanks for this reaction!! Like you, the warning revived my love and interest in rock & roll. It's been decades since I was uncontrollably excited about any band and there are some that came close. I can truly say that there has never been anything like The Warning ever. I simply can't get enough of the sisters. There are tens of thousands of us who appreciate what The Warning represents which is the rebirth of rock. No one could have imagined that 3 sisters from Mexico would turn the music world on its head. For fans like you and I, The Warning is filling our need for great music that was killed by the labels over the last 20+ years. And the warning is doing it their way. Without all the drama and rock star BS. They are smart, focused, passionate, talented, and humble. I always tell people, once you fin The Warning, you can't un-find them. The Warning Army covers all ages and countries. That right there, tells me that the joy they bring is real. I've never seen a band have so much fun on stage and just keep killing it. The Warning should already be all over the airwaves. When they do break out, it will be a very good era. ⚡⚡⚡

The lesson contained in this song is, don't piss Pau off! Written after a friend told her to stop wasting her time with the band, it's never going anywhere anyway. On the positive side, we get an amazing song out of it!

"Remember me when you're old". This song is full of epic phrases. Teatro Metropolitan is a 3100-seat room that they sold out two nights, the second being a Monday. Who sells out shows on Monday? I like that you're paying attention. Are you an ex-singer or other musician? Some reactors and TWA people are.
Hey RnR Relic! This may be my favorite song by TW lyrically, both in words and flow. Most people that find TW first notice Pau because of her magnetic and dynamic drumming, vocals and stage presence, unique for a drummer. Then notice Ale's solid, melodic bass grooves, statuesque beauty, and shy, humble demeanor. But, what I noticed when I first saw them live, after following them for over three years prior, is that Dany is Wonder Woman on stage! She is the leader, the MC, the lead vocalist, the one who hypes the crowd. All of that while playing rhythm and lead guitar, and doing her pedalboard changes, and rarely misses a beat. I remember standing there in awe of all three, but especially Dany! They are 3 Unicorns destined to be Legends!

Everything from their 8/29/2022 Teatro Metropolitan performance is outstanding. For a deeper dive, I would also recommend exploring their Lunario live performance of their 2nd LP, Queen of the Murder Scene. I won’t try to spoil it too much, but it’s a concept album about unrequited love turned tragedy…they wrote and self produced it as teens. The Teatro Metropolitan includes a number of songs from QOTMS.

I'm also an old guy, well, older, 57, Lol. I remember the effect that discovering bands like Van Halen, Rush, and Pink Floyd had on me in my youth, and now to discover a newer band like TW (they've actually been a formal band since 2013) is giving me that same level of excitement.
If you haven't heard of them, Plush is another all-girl band from NY worth checking out, as is another all-sibling band called Liliac, and another power trio of Canadian teens called Freeze The Fall for whom TW is one of their main influences. It's amazing that despite being still so young themselves, TW are inspiring kids to learn instruments and form bands.

Dany (guitar) works hard to get the emotion correct that Pau (drums) was experiencing when she wrote this song... *Animosity* was spawned from a childhood friendship breaking up...
basically the story is that someone said something like, "come hang out with us. that band thing won't go anywhere. why are you wasting your time?" well, you can imagine how that went over... TWA like to joke that the moral of the story is "Don't upset Pau or you may be memorialized in a song" 😹
*Fade Away* from the _"Escape the Mind"_ EP is similar to *Animosity* in that both talk about moving on after others have attempted to sully your drive and determination... i can easily see both of them being initially developed around the same time frame...

I know you were asking for suggestions of The Warning, but if you want to expand a bit here are suggestions for two other femaile rock bands.
Plush, who opened for The Warning in 2022, have some well-selected covers such as Barracuda (Heart) and Down in a Hole (Alice in Chains) or try theirtheir originals Better Off Alone, Will Not Win, Left Behind.
Cobr Spell are a European band who have described themselves as a Kiss-inspired band, and deliver good hard Rock and Roll. They have just released their first full-length album, and don't disappoint.
Try the new video of sick just released last week.
And for contrast, the video of Martirio.
Nobody else has this range of styles or sounds.
This song is a big middle finger from Pau to a former friend that mocked her for being in a rock band.
Moral of the story: don't piss off Pau, or you'll be immortalized in a song.

Just discovered your channel some days ago. Got this feeling of looking in a mirror ... as I'm in the age of 71 now and absolutely dedicated to our beloved ladies Villareal a.k.a. The Warning I recognize the big smile on your face ! They're unbelievable good aren't they ??? I grew up with Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Stones, Eric Clapton and so on and so on ... but now I found my BAND FOR LIFETIME !!! With kind regards from The Netherlands. (Europe)

Also, I have a document on _Queen of the Murder Scene_ in Google Docs that explains the meaning of the songs and also has some notes on the album cover and insert booklet. I can't post a link but just google queen of the murder scene meaning and it should be the first hit. TWA loves it when you go through it song by song.
