- As we get into 2024, I thought I'd share with you the palette I'll be using next year, how I set it up, and which colors I'll be using. This is a watercolor palette inspired by Jane Blundell, that I customized for myself, and I'll be mostly using it for urban sketching, landscape painting and will try to get into human figure, including portraits. I use all Daniel Smith colors. Hope you like it!

I LOVE every color you chose. I would only choose one more. Kyanite.
Can’t wait to see what you paint!
I'm gonna have to check that one out! Thank you for the suggestion!
That is going to be a very enjoyable palette to use! Love Daniel Smith watercolours 😍👏👏👏
That's the hope! Thanks for stopping by!
if you want a very interesting and vibrant but still kind of natural looking green, I highly suggest trying out Green Appetite Genuine by Daniel Smith and my all time favorite is Moonglow - a wonderful, highly granulating pink/violet... so amazing...
Green Appetite was in my list but I ended up going for Serpentine Genuine. I might still get a tube of those in the future tho :) And I agree, Moonglow is such a dope color, I got a blob of it on my bigger studio palette. Thanks for stopping by!
Love moonglow!
that's a great palette
Thank you!
I think you have a lovely color selection there for me personally I would also need prussian blue, viridian, and alizarin crimson.
Thank you! I've been tempted to try those 3 you mentioned. They are very popular too. Maybe some time during the year ;)
Lovely palette!
Thank you! I'm glad you like it :)
Suggestions❤ Hematite Genuine is a VERY heavy granulating, warm black to mix with colors. It's a must! Mixing Buff Titanium with cerulean makes a lovely color. DS burnt sienna is just about the ugliest brand of this beautiful shade. I think you should have skipped Potters Pink and bought Amazonite or quinacridone coral. Both mix wonderfully with just about everything.
Thanks for the suggestions! I do have Hematite, but once dried it is really hard to re-wet. that's why I didn't include it. Amazonite was on my mind when I got the Sleeping Beauty turquoise, I just decided to go with the later. Still might get it in the future :) thanks for stopping by!
Beautiful choices! 😍 Love the combo of "brighter" and muted colors. I'm a fan of muted colors, especially granulating ones. I really want to grab sleeping beauty. Is it worth the price, in your opinion? I have a palette of 160 colors (80% Daniel Smith) and that is one I don't have. That makes total sense! Thats why I love your palette so much! I love Jane B. I have her books and have been looking at her blog for YEARS. The last color I got was Sodalite and it does not disappoint 😍 thanks for sharing! Just found your page. Cant wait to watch your other videos 🙂 definitely subscribed.
You read my mind, I like to have both bright and early colors. And SB turquoise I think it's absolutely worth paying for! I'd absolutely love to see your palette, I'm drooling already! I'm so happy you like the palette, I'll be posting a swatching video soon, please stay on the lookout! And thank you so much for subing and taking some time to comment, it means a ton!
Great choices! Daniel Smith is my favorite WC brand by far. There are only a few colors that I opt to use of different brands (mainly Winsor & Newton Pro, Schminke and Maimeri Blue) because I prefer single pigment colors when possible.
A few amazing colors that I haven't seen represented in other brands are Napthamide Maroon (it's mixes are moody and sultry), Cobalt Turquoise (amazing granulation), and Cascade Green (excellent for ocean scenes).
Thanks for sharing! 🙏😊
I've thought about having mostly single pigments too but in my process I don't think it makes a lot of difference. But it's definitely in my mind, specially after seeing the pure pigment set from Mission Gold, and seeing that Amit Kapoor, one of my biggest influences uses that brand exclusively. Thanks for stopping by!
Please swatch them all! Hard to see in the tubes.
Already did :) the video is called Swatching My 2024 Daniel Smith Watercolor Palette
I love all these colors! I haven't tried the Sleeping Beauty yet but I want it!
I'm glad you liked my selection! And Sleeping Beauty is a very nice color, not cheap but I think it's worthy :) Thanks for subscribing too!
@@iosebaart of course! Do you plan to do a swatching video of these?
@@SarahAndBoston I can do that, you got it!
@@iosebaart awesome, would love to see it.
You should swatch this palette
Absolutely! That video is coming on Monday :)
