After finding out what Russell did during the final dinner service, it's no wonder he didn't win. Ramsay may get into people's faces, but never in an aggressive manner the way Russell did.
Not only that, but Russell blew any chance of winning when he decided to send *two tables out at the same time.*
He claims his team fucked him royally, but the only person who fucked up his chances of going through that door was himself.

i heard a rumor that gordon wanted to eliminate raj in episode 1, but reluctantly let him stay because production wanted to keep him for ratings. then with episode 3, he not only went against script, but he only told one person that he was going to get rid of raj, and that was the cameraman aimed at raj. the expressions that appeared were genuine shock!

I don't agree. I think he shows a lot of narcissistic tendencies, specifically making lots of mistakes and making excuses for all of them, acting like everyone is just out to get him for no reason, and not being willing to go out into the dining room because his dirty jacket would embarass him. He just completely lacks self reflection and seems very insecure.
His last quote may be the most telling. He basically says that he didn't like anything, but follows it up with "but it was a great experience, and I'm really glad I did it." It strikes me as a perfect cookie cutter response that he knows will make him sound grateful to the audience.

Given the fact that Sabrina didn’t know the full details at the time concerning Antonia she gets a reprieve. She was told that she was suffering from a migraine. Still callous but not entirely inexcusable for other people got in trouble for overblowing their headaches.
