Funny thing i ended up finding this videos about free forming by coincidence. I recently cut my hair off to donate it and after a year unemployed and having enough time to meditate a lot about myself, the world and lots of stuff important to me, i came to the conclusion that i want to love myself the way i am. So by that reasoning, i understood that all the ironing, the chemical treatments for my hair to look certain way were taking away my time and peace, so i decided to just let it be. Until today i had never heard anything about this free form concept but apparently i have been going that way for about three months now, AWESOME! The best part is that this personal learning process brought me here and now i realize there are many others going through the same journey. Best wishes for all!
I think me and you. You and I are on the same page. The same wave.. I had dreads in my twenties. Just because they looked cool. No meaning behind them. I cut them for work. Now 32.. And I've been listening to reggae a lot more now. I understand the word. I now feel like I need them like they're supposed to be apart of me. Or me apart of them. It's a spiritual journey. That I feel I need to take. The positivity that dreads bring. The negative it locks out. Now. I'm letting them grow again. I wasn't sure how to do it. As far as natural. Or back comb. Twist and rip. It doesn't matter anymore. I'm hair letting it take its natural course. How it is mentioned to be will be. Like you said. I say the same. It's how the creator wants them. I still listen to reggae. I love how your locs have formed. I started from a fro and just stop combing my hair. It's only been 3 months but I'm loving though. Mine is combing kinda big though. I think I'm just gonna let them do what it want.☺️
I like freeforming the best. I had manicured locs (my first set) and I remember feeling really insecure, manicured locs was a lot like having a relaxer again.

see wat i dont get about the whole "dont touch ur hair" route is wat about wen u wake up in the morning and the hair on the back/sides of ur head are flat from the pillow, do u just go about ur day like that or what? and ive been growing my hair for a while now and all iv got going for me is a very nappy afro, not even a big afro even though i have long strands of hair
Wash your hair in clockwise motion and use Coconut Oil, as well as other oils to moisturizer and replenish. Your scalp will start to develop new growth

Try rinsing your hair in the morning, see if that works.
