Crazy! After 3-4 try’s doing the 15 min w/key on- nothing. So I put the passenger window up an down. Started right up. I’ve had a short in that switch for some time. Ordered a new one right away. Thank you for you suggestion!
My truck got stolen it was recovered i patched the hole on the gas tank with jb weld after 24 hours of cure time i put gasgas in it starts for a second or 2 then shuts off could this be my problem too?
Thank you because I just realized something on my 99 Yukon. The front passenger door panel is off and no window switch or door lock switch is even hooked up so I'm about to hook it up and find out. Thank you for your valuable information
My battery would die over night I changed the alternator, new battery , but when I jump it the door locks or windows won’t work until I disconnect the battery and reconnect it , but now when I jump up it runs for a few seconds and shuts off

Were your guages working when you had this problem? Mine starts then shuts off but my gauges aren't working. And my locks and windows aren't working. The radio is always on. I can't figure it out
I bought a 2005 Chevrolet 2500Hd it’s doing this exact same thing, starts and shuts right off, and when I try to lock the driver door with the button it unlocks by itself. I noticed previous owner put in a cheap Chinese ignition switch
@@1959whitesox the other day I tried starting it again, and I wiggled the ignition switch around a few times and it started up and stayed on. It’s definitely something to do with the ignition switch or something, I’ll probably replace both ignition switch with a oem one and a door switches
Thank you thank you thank you. That did it for my 2000 Tahoe. All I did was disconnected my battery and reconnected after a few minutes. Then turn the ignition on to work the windows. I let each window down then up, and it started right up. I was stranded, and was watching videos on CZcams, all over Google looking for an answer, and it continued to start then immediately shut down. Thank you again!!!

2003 Silverado 1500 stalled. New gas filter, new gas lines,, fuel pump has pressure so new crankshaft position sensor (no help), then now a new Camshaft sensor. They are checking. My door lock is intermittent so this seems plausible that it may be the problem? Mechanic wants to try new computers next if sensor does not help. Thanks I'll mention your idea. Hope this helps others also. Advice?
no security light ? my security light just started coming on which kills the injectors, so i get the same thing starts up fine then dies 1 second later, it’s killing me im scared to drive it and get stuck somewhere it’s very random now, i wish i could just disable the pass lock (2000 chevy 3500)

Yes it works great now, the problem with mine was the window switch, kinda funny the truck needs a good window switch to run..... if your window switch isn’t working or lighting up I would definitely put a new one in first.......buuuut there’s lots of things that can cause this problem

My car can't make a quick stop. It starts then off. Had to wait 10 min before each stop to run the car. Also can't stay idle for long time or it engine off itself. Had changed spark. Coil. PVC. Fuel regulator. Still same. Problem started at snow weather.
Mine has been turning off often when turning right. I'll slow down/almost stop to turn right and it'll shake/vibrate/idle and will turn off in the middle of the turn. Sounds/feels like too much pressure from the steering pump. But been fiddling with the ignition a little to get the shifter to go into park fully to be able to remove the key. Shifter seems to be a little loose too and greasy/oily. Notice some oil starting to spill around that area. Any help amyone??
This only happens when you turn right? Could that just be a coincidence???….if your power steering pump was locking up in anyway it should smoke the belt not turn the engine off…..gotta be something else and just a coincidence, but I could be wrong

This really works Big Thanks. All I did was roll down my driver's side window and my truck fired right up.
Watch the security light it we'll shut off, If the security light don't shut off it won't Stay running.

@@BillSims-nx7fo that could definitely ruin a window switch…..the water will get stuck in it and evaporate into the electrical connections
Ted, Where was your burnt wire inside or under hood fuse box? do you remember what circuit was burnt..
It was underneath the fude box a orange wire.....if the truck was facing north....south east corner of the fuse box

Possibly a new gauge cluster?……I’m sure those are tied into the security as well
my 02 gmc will start run for like 3 seconds then die all the locks and windows are working might have to check that out tommorow 👍🏻

I definitely wouldn’t drive it anywhere until it’s fixed, my problem was the driver door lock/window switch cluster

That's a completely different issue, start off by using a OBD2 scanner and see what it says
That sounds like the throttle body positioning sensor.
I'm trying to figure out why mine is not starting, has all the issues you described with yours and my dome and door lights are not working. Did you figure out what was wrong with yours?
what about the power mirror part of the door panel switches?

Check your thermostat, change it had the same problem.. fixed for less than 20 bucks .
