Why Marinette Is Overrated (NOT ORIGINAL)
She is a Mary Sue, nobody sees her mistakes and she never grows as a person cuz of that. She could be such an interesting character, but those moments, jealousy and stalking ruined her
And why does she kind of abuse cat noir.? Heâs sacrificed himself SO many times for her and yet all she does to him is shut him down and bonk him on the head! I hate how they undermine cat noir to ladybug. They are a duo that balance and counter each other. She is creation, he is destruction but because they want a strong female character they have to make her extremely powerful. A good superhero duo that works the exact same way as cat noir and ladybug is cloak and dagger. She is offensive and light, he is defense and darkness. They can't work properly without each other and when they work together they are so much more powerful but that isn't the case for ladynoir. Ladybug has been written so that she could single handled defeat a villain without cat noir, which I despise. Marinette doesn't get any consequences for anything she does, realistically she would be in jail. The writers don't know how to handle her character, it gets so boring because Marinette doesn't change. Marinette may be as bad as Chloe or worse, at least Chloe will acknowledge her behavior, Marinette thinks she's perfect. In the episode where they swap miraculous, Marinette literally nitpicks everything Adrian does wrong and makes fun of him for it. But when her cataclysm backfires, he never blames her, and she acts like she's superior, saying things like "my shoulders feel a lot lighter with your costume" and all that stuff.
Everybody likes Marinette because she is the main character. She does some horrible stuff and nobody sees it. For example, She even sided with CHOLE to keep Kagami from Adrien! And letâs not forget that her jealousy of Kagami and disregard of Chloe caused Chloe to backslide when she was well on her way to full redemption. I feel like The protagonist's morality is the biggest problem. We see time and again that Marinette is selfish, irresponsible, petty, stubborn, and sometimes downright sociopathic and yet everyone is always acting like sheâs a complete saint and the show continues to suffer because of it. The show can still be great but there need to be changes other than power dynamic. The worst part? Everyone except Adrien knows about her stalkerish tendencies, but they don't stop her, discourage her, or anything! They know she's being creepy, but they refuse to stop her and encourage the behavior! Sure, they're teens, but shouldn't their conscience be ringing loud at how creepy her schedule is? She knows Adrien's entire schedule, and I must admit, even though the schedule has her other friends things too, it seems mostly centered around Adrien. And they all know that.
I just really dislike that the writers announced that Adrien and Marinette are going to end up canon. That "love" is toxic! Marinette will more than likely not let ANY girl get close to Adrien if they end up married and make jealous fits in front of him to make him stop communicating with anyone of the opposite gender, unless she approves of them! His dad is already controlling as it is, and there have been theories that his mom was no better. And then you have Adrian and Marinette become partners? No thank you. He deserves a bit better.
