  • This is the second video in a series of videos where we looked back objectively and retrospectively at the building of Gizmo our Overland Expedition Vehicle. We take a look at why we purchased the Jeep as a reference point for future videos in this series.
In future videos, we're looking back objectively and retrospectively at the start of the build stages and the beginning our journey over the last 5 years. Our goal is to share our experiences, choices, decisions, and rational in order to educate, motivate and empower new overlanders or others looking for ideas with there own vehicles.

Great video...much different than most overlanding options that focus more on gear and less on forethought and strategy.

I had the same 3 vehicles in mind. but I also eventually chose the JKUR due to its iconic styling.. and it was off-road ready out of the box with its lockers, tires, 4.10 gear ratio and 32” mud tires.
    I love your build.

Love the video and I love the setup! I have an '87 Wrangler and it never occurred to me to use the roll bar as a way to store gear. It's like a game of tetris to get everything to fit in my little jeep
What do you think of the Jeep Gladiator?
