Kinshasa, Dar Es Salaam, Kigali, Addis Ababa, Mogadishu, Windhoek, Durban, Port Louis and more. Good thing is, the development is shaping up.
I think the best part about Kenya is that we give respect where it's due, and in this case Jo'burg is much more developed. Nairobi is quickly catching up though.
As a South African, I have noticed that Kenya and South Africa are two countries that have mutual respect as compared to how we view affection from other countries...
As a Kenyan I think this comparison makes no sense. Jo'burg is way much ahead in terms of infrastructure and well maintained green spaces, sidewalks and a better drainage system. Nairobi is slowly getting there in the near future.
Don't sell Nairobi too short. It is a great city and besides the whole development thing, Nairobi has an all round appeal. I say that being a South African having lived in Nairobi. That was 10 years ago so i am sure Nairobi has developed further cause when i left, you had just opened your first KFC and the freeway/highway was being built.
Being a Kenyan you may be blinded by being to used to Nairobi and may think that other cities are better, but in reality Nairobi is way better than most. I think the video was just about right.
I still don’t understand why we Africans want to make everything a competition instead of embracing the positive both cities have to offer. Am a Kenyan who has lived in South Africa both Johannesburg and Capetown, and all this places have pros and cons. So it’s not about who is better than the other we all have something to learn from one another.
Come on it's not competition ,comparison is the best way we can grow, when we compare we learn what others are doing that makes them better and we can do it ....
@@Avaricumstudios well you saw it as comparison but if you went through the comments and how most people took this information,It’s more of competition than comparison.

I am a Kenyan living in Nairobi and one thing with Kenyans is that we're sincere😂. And I sincerely think that Johannesburg is better than Nairobi in terms of infrastructure.
I am blessed to have lived in East Africa for 2 years and a large part of that period was spent in Nairobi. I cant deny that Nairobi is beautiful and is by far the most developed city in East Africa. Being South African and having been to atleast 5 major cities in SA i think its very difficult for East, West and even North African cities to compete when it comes to infrastuctural development and amenities. Nairobi does have a good balance between natural and infrastructural appeal though. 🇿🇦🇰🇪

Am Kenyan and on infrastructure and development, Johannesburg is miles ahead. The wealth of the respective countries speaks volumes. However, for natural beauty, Nairobi takes a lead. Major developments going on around Nairobi though from BRT, rail, museums, highways, stadia, studios, skyscrapers and affordable housing. We've suffered decades of poor governance while Jo'Burg was thriving. Actually between 1978-2002 nothing was happening in Kenya besides theft of public resources and tribal clashes. Most of our development has been undertaken within the last 15 years.
I've been fortunate to see the development taking place in Nairobi, it will be a really nice destination to visit in 5 years, some of the Estates in Nairobi are good too, some need development but it's good work going on
Nairobi will get there. I love Kenya 🇰🇪 and I am rooting for greater development in their cities. I love your country sides though.Love from Mzansi 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
I think you should keep South Africa out of these comparisons because it is really the most developed African country and it would always lead in such juxtapositions and thus creating vile comments and tensions from our fellow African brothers and sisters.

Joburg is better than Nairobi infrastructure wise but overall Nairobi is better coz it's much safer, easier to do business and the infrastructure is also quite reliable
I am from Nairobi, never been to Johannesburg. But from the little knowledge I have gleaned from a couple of sources over time, Jo is slightly better than Nairobi when it comes to infrastructure. The difference is that right now there is a new Nairobi that is emerging. The cityis a big construction site.everywhere you turn, major roads are being constructed.infrastructure being seriously modernized.I actually think that the Nairobi expressway road under construction will be the longest and one of it's kind in Africa.I might be wrong. But the fact is, I don't think that there's any city in Africa right now under so much construction. It blows my mind sometimes. Nairobi is the city to watch. Johannesburg might be ahead right now,but give it a few years and Nairobi will catch up, and probably overtake. Plus, Nairobi was recently voted as the best city to work and live in Africa, and 12th in the world by expatriates in 2021.you can check that out.but all in all, I am happy that Africa is on the move.
I have been to Joburg and live in Nairobi. Nairobi is closing down big time on many fronts. Nothing to make it not comparable to Joburg. They each have things which stand out and give one advantage over another. The main point is not about which is wealthier like some deluded shallow minds want to make it.
Come on , Jozi its not slightly better , its by far better city when its comes to infrastructures between both countries . some of places wasn't shown at all , like MELROSE-ARCH and ROSEBANK area😆😆 . there's just huge gape between both cities .
As a South African who live at Johannesburg, I really enjoyed being at Nairobi during my visit ealier this year. It felt so safe and people had so much kindness and humor🇿🇦🇰🇪. If only Nairobi can improve on the value of its currency (Not Economy but currency). However, given a chance to relocate, I'd relocate to Nairobi without even thinking twice.
The safety you enjoyed is because criminals and potential terrorists dissapear without trace. Sometimes their bodies can be found dumped in rivers on Nairobi outskirts. The speculation is that Kenyan government has a special unit of law enforcement agents that conduct summary executions and extrajudicial killings. They neutralize criminals to save lives of many innocent civilians and to send a chilling warning to those intending to engage in terror and crime. I think South Africa need to borrow a leaf from Kenya to tame the rising cases of violence and crimes in your cities.
I pick Kenya and yes I pick South Africa too o! That said, I love both countries. We should actually stop comparing countries as that in itself creates an atmosphere of division. Its like comparing one child to another. They are two different countries. I like apples then again I like bananas. They are different and have different groups of vitamins working together to create a healthy body. I had the best ginger tea in Kenya and the boerewors in SA is amazing. One Africa💚

We just need to be realistic! It's a shame to compare Nairobi with Johannesburg, yes Nairobi is also one of the big and beautiful cities in Africa. However, you should rather compare it to Durban or Pretoria. Johannesburg has the richest square mile in Africa, busiest airport in Africa (OR Tambo Int.), attracts more investors than Nairobi, has the largest Stadium in Africa, the infrastructure is way developed compared to Nairobi. Taking nothing away from Nairobi but Johannesburg is better! Johannesburg is more wealthy, world class African City.
I agree with you. But in terms of investment attractiveness, Nairobi takes the lead. So many international companies prefer Nairobi as a good place to set up a regional headquarters. It was ranked the first in Africa in that case
I bet you have no idea on how Nairobi is growing in its political and financial importance in not only the region but also Africa as a whole.
1978-2002 that guy wasted us Kenyans- matters development ,big time🤦🏽♂️

The safety you enjoyed is because criminals and potential terrorists dissapear without trace. Sometimes their bodies can be found dumped in rivers on Nairobi outskirts. ( paid for by the unimpressed rates payer )
Keep growing Nairobi. Best city to work in Africa and 12th in the world. Johannesburg comes 55th and Cape Town 41st in the world. Let the dreamers keep drowning in old glory. thy will one day wake up from their slumber/delusion. Kenya on the rise. Nairobi leading!!
Stop being jealous!🚮😆 . Jozi is by far , very far developed then Nairobi on everything . on that clip some of areas of Jozi wasn't shown like MELROSE-ARCH and ROSEBANK and WATERFALL areas😆..they will have made Nairobi look like huge joke!...Nairobi cant even take cup from Durban city in RSA .
Nairobi is still beautiful though even more then over hyped LAGOS .
looool LOOOL YOU'VE NEVER BEEN IN JOZI WENA, EVEN DURBAN IS BETTER THAN NAIROBI..
Spoken like a true dreamer. You decided to go with one subjective metric from a small expatriate survey. No doubt Nairobi is coming up but it has quite a bit to do to catch up to both Jozi and Cape Town. In short, all I can say to you ES EM is, travel a little, you might learn something.
You don't sound like someone who is into this Africa renaissance thing do you
@@nqubekotany134 Durban is by far better then Nairobi , everything .
Why you don't do a video about Khartoum capital city of sudan
South African infrastructure that I see majority of them arguing bitterly can all be accredited to the white man, Nairobi has grown in the hands of the black man since 1964 with the second liberation going on,shows how strong Nairobi and it's inhabitants are.Consider the gap between the rich and the poor in SA, very poor, not that Nairobi is better..Anyways it's only important that we support each other and debrand Africa as ''diseases and poverty'' the way its viewed globally
CHINESE BUILT NAIROBI AND IS STILL BUSY BUILDING 🙄
The same poor people are there in Nairobi. Not all blacks are poor in SA got the largest middle class in Africa.
@@purplemango9679 Chinese loans are known to bankrupt countries they' need to be careful.
@@purplemango9679 They are loans that we are paying, unlike you people who only cry in Soweto when whites are enjoying the upper class life.My point is not the presence or absence of poor people,it's the margin between these people and the rich, which is wanting in SA
@@ochiengstephen7500 You have no idea. Do more research in SA we got poor blacks to billionaires.in 27 years we made fast progress.
We shouldn't be competing with each other; your work still good though 🙂, just as my president called for Us AFRICANS to come together and achieve more.
LOL from kenya
jozi is aheadby far but kenya beats jozi in terms of african/kenyan ownership of their city wealth.
True
True
Yes in SA there are white people, but they have lived in SA for over 400 years and classify themselves as South Africans. However, before you let jealousy overcome you, you must understand SA is a young democracy of 27 years. Before the democracy black people were deprived to owning wealth by the system, and it is going to take a while before we claim everything (as black South Africans). Besides we don't care who has it because a lot of us are able to live a quality life in our own country and it is a fact that white people handle their things with care and are diligent beings unlike most countries who cast them out instead of seeking to live in peace with them.
@@lindokuhleraulinga8609 it was not about jealousy.
Just stating a current fact. That's all.
If in the future African south africans match up to the wealthy whites then as Africans we shall be happy for you. So happy btw. So no need for animosity on CZcams
@@carenadhiambo what fact I guarantee you that you've never been in SA...but okay, if it makes you sleep well, then you are right. I don't argue with shallow minded people
I'm a SAn from JHB East, Benoni. I've nver been to Kenya but I love Nairobi, its got potential...
It is a great city. That is why it is loved.
We should not be comparing ,we should be holding our leaders accountable for building the Africa we want ,we should be forcing whom so ever in our parliament to do as we the voters wish, we the tax payers after all and South Africa won't have to always be on the spotlight, I'm South African by the way, In that way we all win
I honestly love both cities, the comparison is OK. But I feel safer in Nairobi, in Johannesburg I've been told not to act like a tourist cause the first time I went there my phone was stolen 😅 🤣
Stolen by many Kenyan or Ethiopian or Nigerian or Ghanaian or all this kwerekweres in Joburg if Nairobi is good for you stay there and tell them to come home stop dreaming you need 100years to compare Johannesburg with Nairobi

@Thabiso Maila income which you or your folks are not getting, we both know who is getting that income 😂😂

Johannesburg is my favorite place in Africa Jozi gold city 🇿🇦❤🇸🇴
Awesome! But too busy hey ❤️🇿🇦
These are two magnificent world cities on the African continent in 2021!
Kenya is rapidly experiencing infrastructure boom in every spectrum;housing, roads, rail and transportation and in an year's time the gap between Nairobi and jurbag will be breached.
No gold no jo'burg...Nairobi are the people.
And I didn't see the difference broh.. the two cities tie in everything

I love how South Africans love Kenyans , no effort needed. We just click . One day I hope to visit Kenya ❤️

Considering you've used Nairobi photos and videos from three - four years ago!.. At the moment, it's just a huge construction hub.
Temperatures reaching 40°c in Nairobi? Impossible, it's too high above sea level to get to such temperatures. Rarely goes above 30°C too.
Nairobi haters... why would expatriates recommend Nairobi as the best city to live and work in Africa and 12 globally?
Nairobi still has a long way to go before it can be compared to Johannesburg. Maybe in 50 years, the infrastructures of the two can be at par. Nairobi is making tremendous progress nonetheless. I don’t think it’s accurate to say Nairobi temperature ever reaches 40 degrees Celsius, 32 is about the hottest it gets in Nairobi.
50year I don't think so growth of Nairobi it's not a joke it's developing rapidly so I will give Nairobi 7year to surpassed jorburg
Yeah 7 to 10 years atleast
This guy said 50 years...Lmao.

@@joeytube1000 mpaka anasema temperature ya Nairobi inafika 32!huyu okello ni wa Uganda nawee!
Honestly, the cities aren't far from one another.
Kenyans stop selling your city short, Jozi might be just slightly advanced than Nairobi its not like we are ages apart
love SA 🇿🇦 from Kenya 🇰🇪
first, Kenya is a third-world country, SA is a second-world country, by that standard alone Joburg is far more advanced. What is not in doubt is the potential Nairobi has to become a better city in the future, Its an injustice to compare the two because they are both uniquely beautiful.
The only thing that I would like to correct is that Nairobi's weather is not humid at all. Dry heat yes but no humidity as such. Mombasa is hot and humid.
I'm nairobian bt jo'burg stands out, every african can relate...
