I have this record and will upload the clean restored version tonight- this version I edited was good when it was all we had, now we have the real thing so stay tuned!

as a kid in middle school when this came out, I would rewind this sequence and play it over and over again. i probably watched Twister at least 4 times per week I actually wanted to become a storm chaser for a while but got into film instead

I've been storm chasing now for over 6 years! I saw this movie when It hit the big screen and it compelled me to put my own truck and life on the road and after a very rough start that almost ended my career advancement due to vehicle and financial problems I finally managed to put together a small team and when we went out on our first chase in 2008 we watched this movie the night before we hit the road and when we team out on the road for the first time we played this on repeat for 4 hours strait hunting an F2 that we literally could not keep up since it kept changing it's course, the dusty fucker. A name my partner gave it on the file case since it was such a bastard to track. It's seriously like hunting a rabbid animal that you're trying to trap, it's fun and intense but very dangerous if you don't calculate your course just right.

Excellent work!! I bought this score back when it first came out. I was very aggravated that the Leaving Wakita excerpt was not on the cd. It was always my favorite score song. It's so awesome how it transitions right into the Van Halen song. Badass!!!! Great job with this.

The whole scene is simple; simply epic. Great beauty shots. Great camera moves. Chasing and emotions boosted with Van Halen and an impressive, gorgeous, empathic orchestral soundtrack by Mark Mancina which perfectly fits not only this part of the movie. I'm sure without such music those scenes would only be half as good as they are. Even after all those years it inspires me. Next time I visit the US, Wakita and its sweet Twister museum will be on the "need-to-visit" list.

Official Bassquake 8 I woke up to the news today and cried for several minutes; I just couldn't believe it. What an enormous loss- a huge part of my childhood love for movies. I will be watching a few of my Paxton favorites (Twister, Frailty, A Simple Plan) and shedding some tears for a great performer who apparently had much more of a personal impact on my life than I ever thought about and it took his sudden passing for me to really realize it :(. RIP Bill Paxton
