      Hmm, but Arteta wasn't given Arsenal. He applied, was on the shortlist, lost out to Unai Emery. When Emery lost the dressing room, Arteta put his name back in the hat, told the board what values he wanted to return to Arsenal and the board took a chance on him.
      And no, they did not give him 700million to spend from the off. They gave him a miniscule budget where he had to bring in veterans and cheap deals - like Mari, Soares, Willian to fill out the squad. And loans like Odegaard.
      By this measure its more akin to Pep being given Barcelona.

    These old pros don’t get it. Kompany is a Pep disciple, like Alonso and Arteta. They feel Kompany can get Bayern playing the way they did when Pep was Bayern coach. What he did at Burnley in his first season was incredible changed a team’s style overnight and got a record number of points for championship team and his coaching improved Tella so much, he got a move to Leverkusen and now he is a Bundesliga champion. Burnley would often dominate games, even against big sides, but would miss too many chances or make massive game losing individual errors, that is not bad Kompany coaching that is an issue about low quality players. His tactics will be more effective at Bayern and he is fluent in German.
    I have to commend Bayern and German football for being inclusive and giving a black coach with potential a chance, because in England with their covert racism, no black coach would ever get that chance at a big club,even if he was experienced and successful. England is a place where they fire successful black coaches who get promotion because the British colonial white supremacy kicks in and think if they had a coach with less skin pigment they would be doing better. That is despite the statistic fact that Black coaches in England have a higher ratio of success, they get hardly any opportunities, which is why you hardly see any black people in the coaching staff, despite the fact the Premier League has 40% black players.

So your assertion of british colonialism kicking in is just plain dumb,its foreigners who are making the appointments. Most of the owners in the top flight are from foreign shores, your argument is null and void. Wheres the history of success for black managers in the prem league? Are the Big English clubs also being racists against White English male coaches? How many English coaches did you see them appoint in the last 20 years in the big clubs?
      Covert racism got Kompany the job at Burnley in the first place.
      Covert racism got Nuno Santos the big job at Spurs.
      The irony is Bayern went begging more than 8 white coaches before remembering Kompany is the next best thing.

    Makes no sense, a huge gamble. He has no credentials or experience to justify managing a big club with big expectations, such as Bayern. I also feel he doesn't have the level of commitment or rigor to coaching that the likes of Pep or Zidane had. The trouble with a lot of the coaches these days is that their "risk" is only upside in terms of money. They do well, they get paid top dollar. They don't do well, they still get paid pretty well, whether they leave or they get sacked. So the pressure to perform is not there for most coaches. It's just too comfortable.

    • @Delboy0
      @Delboy0 Před 23 dny

      You are projecting negative personality traits on to Kompany that are not true that you have no clue about. You are essentially calling Kompany lazy and lacking rigour. It seems like you are saying this because you have wrong preconceptions about people with dark skin. Zidane is one of the laziest coaches, who refuses to work anywhere where he will have to learn a new language and has basically retired because he refuses to take any job unless it is the French national team and that is the guy you say has more commitment than Kompany who speaks 6 languages fluently, that everyone who meets him says he is one of the most highly intelligent young coaches out there.
      It is a risk but there is logical reasons for hiring him. He is a Pep disciple like Arteta and Alonso were, he was able to play Pep style football with Burnley players who had spent their lives playing long ball football. Bayern feel they could be getting the next big young coach whose tactics will work better with top players Bayern has and if he reaches his potential Bayern could have a top coach for the next 10 years.

There’s several more proven coaches out there that have had great seasons this year that would probably work better. There’s always a risk with a new coach, but the idea is to get the best coach you can get, and Kompany doesn’t have the resume yet. It’s seems more of a desperate move than anything else.
