I had watched the Falcons Vs. Betboom game when it was being streamed live and the casters covered the banner placement so badly. First they thought it was a dire banner because it was in the dire base. Then they realized it was a radiant banner and they criticized its placement because it was vulnerable. When you mentioned at 1:25 that it provides almost as much vision as an observer ward, my mind immediately went back to that game and I realized why Sneyking placed that banner right before Ammar wanted to blink in and cast doom. Glad that you went into this much detail in this video.

The Dota 2 official casters make me want to put a toaster in a bath and power the toaster and then fill the bath with water and then jump in the water.

Infact don't even read/know damage numbers or skill names. I just know this one heals, that stuns, this one stuns but not really, some slows you.
I guess that's why it's pretty much reflected in my rank
It is always the right choice to plant a banner while being at the location so that you can salute and be a good citizen of Super Earth before spreading Democracy to the enemy base!!
The fact that it destroys trees is helpful against mk.

Great video man. However, in the comparison between super creeps and banner-buffed creeps, one of the supers had flag which I think made the difference.
Excellent content! I always wondered how long banner lasted on creeps and wondered how far out to place it in lane. I am assuming the creeps only make it to enemy T2 after factoring in enemy creep resistance correct? I hope you do a video on the Options > Labs feature that Dota2 rolled out since I can't make head or tails of it

If you put it in your base, your creeps' buff will almost expire by the time they've walked halfway across the map and started attacking anything. I feel like the highest impact for the banner is actually using it as a globally placeable ward to give vision during a teamfight, or to catch an enemy etc. Breaking the trees globally to stun a MK seems pretty OP too.
I will try this next time I have MK as enemies

I have do this weird placement when rubick run away with mk tree jump skill.. i jut put that banner, see rub fall stuned, then get blame from my team... But its still the best feeling

at the time sney cast the banner i thought it was to boost both waves but for that to land the waves need to be at t4's.
did learn quite a lot. this is kinda of what thjey did with baron buff in league and it helps break stalemates. creep empowerment is the way to close the game, megas always have been that unti lrecently where it feels not that punishing.
maybe they should really give like 5% income or what ted said, as they enter base they ignore heroes

Probably a cool usage is if playing against core monkey king and dropping it on the trees he’s sitting on to catch him

I think the 'banner-creeps vs super-creeps' test would've been dead even if the super-creeps didn't have a flagbearer advantage, they regened a good ~150HP
I think it's misleading to say that placement from Mira is always optimal. Mid lane is the shortest lane, and there is an enemy T2 up. His placement makes a lot of sense in this context, but would waste it if you're trying to siege high ground.
If your goal is to push high ground with it, especially a sidelane, it needs to be closer. Otherwise the buff will just expire. If you're sieging and trapping them in their base, it's not in much risk of getting sniped
Dota needs a CEO of polishing the details, there is always something not working, like status icons (rosh banner, shield rune) or explanations of how technicalities work.
They should allow buffing neutral creep. Isn't Roshan like superboss of the map?

It was probably last month in a game when I thought It was a bug that I can see them teleporting (They were placing the banner around their tier2 & tier3 towers). I told my teammates and guess what? they also thought it was a bug 🤣
Roshans banner is most definitely POG and most definitely not DOG. XD
There should be no restriction about the banner in the radiant side. it should be both available together with cheese after 6th death.

Won a base race as a support when I discovered that the banners cast range was global... so funny cause i was just wishing i could put it there and it worked
didnt know its global until you mentioned lol. i always put it when a lane is already destroyed/ getting destroyed and very close to enemy tower location to solidify the push

No it can't
No one is talking about how it only lasts 45 seconds and it feels like I'm going crazy.
Whats the point of putting it in your base, in a lane where you have tier 1 tower still up? The creeps will lose the buff by the time they reach the lane, they might engage one other enemy creep wave while buffed.
A lot of the time in pro matches they would place the banner in their own base, or behind tier 1 tower, in a lane where baracks are either exposed or already dead, meaning that the creeps will push the wave, but will just barely make it to the opponent's side/ base by the time the buff runs out.
45 seconds is not a long time for a creep!
It's enough to keep a lane pushed for 5mn.
If you dont understand the benefits of having a lane autopushing, then it's time for you to find a video about that.
It gives space, vision, pressure to the ennemy team (yes because even if they dont have the buff when they reach T3 they will still chip away tower's health).
That's why Lycan's shard is good and annoying, it does exactly the same thing, helping the lane push itself, but worse, and it's still pretty good.
Also ennemies busy depushing the lane will take more time because of the HP buff.
Overall you can completely stop playing on this side of the map because it will defend itself, while the ennemy team will have to regularly depush it, giving you a ton of space on the other side of the map. That was even explained in the video...

Yes, if you put the banner in your base, your creeps might only have 10 seconds of buff left before they start attacking anything, or maybe the buff is even expired if your creeps are already attacking your opponents base. Which means that if your goal is to push a lane, the ideal placement is to put it as close to the point of creep contact as possible, on a lane where the enemy is unlikely to kill it. Putting it in your base could be totally redundant.

Yes you can put it near a T1, and yes it will make your creeps stronger for longer, eventually able to hit towers/racks with the buff.
The thing is, it will be hard to defend the banner, as one hero can just backdoor it easily, or 5 heroes can push the lane, take the tower, then the banner. Or make a smoke move towards it. The point is it will take ressources to make it safe.
They can't do any of that if it's in your base.
Also, you're both too focused on the creeps hitting the buildings while buffed.
Placing it in your base gives you so many benefits for 5 minutes that will outweight the benefits of putting it near a T1 and having to protect it.
Also as shown in this video, they will still push buildings without the buff, because they will make big waves on the way to ennemy base.

@@thiag0d pros oftentimes aren't innovators (they're optimizers) and in a team game with long game times it takes a long time for good strats to rise to the top. Do you know how long it took for players to go deso on TA? What about rat strats?
Little things like these commonly take close to or over a year to start becoming meta in pro games because the larger factor in pro play is how good you are at the current meta and how far you can push it. if you can increase your chances by .1% by doing new banner strats it just doesn't matter much it takes a top tier team to become notorious for doing something for most pros to catch on and realize it's good because most of them don't ever get good by thinking much about the game, they get good by copying what already works.

I place the banners next to the rax of the lane we're currently pushing. It makes it harder for enemies to cut waves as the creepa are much tankier.

The item just badly designed. Even an aoe add more neutral creeps to the neutral creep camp is far better mechanic compared to this.
