I think if there's actually someone who would change dahmer's mind make him feel loved and enough before he started the killing and feeling the thrill of killing someone. Dahmer might actually learn how to love and a person would prevent him from fantasizing other stuff and jeff might have just focused on one person to love but sadly he picked up a straight hiker and made a move on him so i guess his rage just twisted his mind and killed him.
