    Really, enjoyed seeing/hearing Whitney's real time evolution towards a new “more alive and awake human” just by experiencing her ride on the Blade. She’s not there yet, but she seems to be warming up to the idea of breaking down the barriers that separate her from those deep-down Squid Monster desires lurking deep inside her. The fact that her Ancestral Spirits were called out of the Ether to grab seats on her shoulder to experience a fantastic Magic Carpet Ride indicates something really special was happening, However I believe what those Ancestral Spirits had in mind was throwing her caution to the wind and cranking that damn throttle with unabridged fury. They wanted to see firsthand what this Magic Carpet had under the hood. Definitely heard one of Whitney’s ancestors yelling, damn Girl, you just scored a Magic Carpet ride, Hit IT, Let’s see what this Baby can do!
    What really cracked me up was back at the office during the ride wrap up, watching Yammie face trying to come to grips with Whitney’s run down of what her first impression of that Superbike/Blade ride was like. He wasn’t quite prepared for a Mystical Journey into her ancestral past. You could tell he and Spike were both secretly hoping that somehow, Whitney would experience a crazy moment and just say screw it and give that throttle a brutal twist. They knew this action would burst the mental Barriers long enough to allow high pressure mega-doses of Adrenaline to squirt uncontrolled straight into the depths of your need for speed brain releasing a Fiendish Squid biker, that had just been lurking just below the surface all along.
    You got one thing right for sure, that bike will catapult the old Whitney from Version 1.0 to Version 2.0, that should be fun.

      It is geared for track use from 100-180 mph not "street legal" 70-90 mph use. For cruising at 70-90 mph 2nd gear is the correct choice. Shifting into higher gears at low speeds just takes you further away from the power band with no performance benefit other then exercising your left foot to go up then back down again to 2nd/1st. It would be like taking a normal (slow) street bike or car and shifting into 6th gear at 30 mph.

    • @1119benjamin
      @1119benjamin Před 2 lety +2

      This is also why people complain sport bikes (4 cyl) have "no power down low" in city traffic. The gearing is what determines your torque to the wheels at any given speed/rpm and 1st on a dedicated race bike is essentially a crawler gear to get you up to minimum track speed which exceeds any legal road speed in America.

    • @timsretirementjourney8323
      @timsretirementjourney8323 Před 2 lety +1

      @@1119benjamin this sort of stuff makes me appreciate my old '88 GSX1100F (Katana) a lot more. Yes it's a Japanese 4 cylinder that was supposed to be good for 165 - 170 mph when new, but it's still tame enough that I can shift it at 2,000 rpm if I want and even cruise through town in higher gears 2 up with my wife if I want, yet the bike doesn't complain, and still redlines at 11,300.
      I totally get the whole no bottom end with hot cams bit since I used to build engines for a late model stockcar, ... but a bike like that Fireblade really makes no practical sense for public streets, ... especially if you have to stick to the first two gears to be in the zone.

    Actually, I think Whitney was right here. The new CBR is not the litre bike to rip into the first time you ride a litre bike. Slow and steady... and never changing out of first.

    Hahahahaha! I never had a more realistic description of someone pooping their pants on a bike! It really reminded me myself when I first sat on a Sportsbike. The pooping never stopped, I just got used it and grew to like it 💩

    im a new rider, bought my first bike (CBR1000rr), and i have only got it 102mph on the open streets of Mexico. I am not comfortable to go faster, so i just stay between 50-80mph

  • @ScottMikles
    @ScottMikles Před 2 lety +1

    And to think that was probably never more than half throttle lol
    I have the 2017 CBR 1000RR and I always describe it as some sort of time travel or teleportation device when I go wide open.
    Once you ride a lot more and you're able to push the bike you'll feel it come to life and start to feel it doing what it was meant to.
    Feels like operating a powerful precision tuned instrument. That feeling of the bike and yourself melding as one is an absolutely beautiful feeling. A mutual understanding between man and machine.

    • @ScottMikles
      @ScottMikles Před 2 lety

      @@j.vosier6786 It actually is. Lots of seating space, aggressive peg position but not overly so. I imagine someone in sub par physical shape wouldn't enjoy it so much. I can sit back, relax and cruise comfortably whenever I want though.

    I had a fire blade. It was a wonderful bike but the riding position was intolerable. I like to ride for hours but the pain was too much for my 60 year old body.
    I was doing stupid stuff (160MPH) on it too with the incredible power.
    I now ride a Suzuki Bandit, power and comfort with a Corbin saddle.

    Whitney reminds me of one of the Marines I served with. We were all nervous before she showed up because we never had a female in our shop before, and thought we were gonna have to tone down all of our conversations, but then she shows up and was 10 times worse than we were. She also pulled her own weight in both work and PT, didn't create any drama, and was downright hilarious. Hands down, one of the best Devil Dogs I ever served with. Miss ya, O. Hope you're taking care of yourself.
