not boring at all. I enjoy the Motorcycle stuff. and everything you do on the farm. keep going. stay safe.
Thank you very much.
I like to use OEM parts also but, some of that old stuff is impossible to find. Randakks sells lots of good replacement items, made to OEM specs. They also have a section for cross referencing other makes that will work. Like Gates fans belts for the timeing belts. My '78 has the Gates belts on it. Their carb rebuild kits are excellent, don't skimp on the carb kits. Those carbs are as finicky as cat, no worth it, go with Randakks or farm out the work. I used Bears carb and cycle. It was worth the money.
3 other mechanics worked on those carbs, Bears did it and she runs like a scolded dog. Electric contact cleaner to the start button, take it part way apart, spray the heck out of it, while rapidly pushing the starter button. Use about half a full can or more.
Good luck
Thank you for the information and thanks for watching.
Nice. Enjoy hearing the thought process behind the problem solving. The Sporty was too easy for you after all the years with them. (but a big help for me). If I’m correct the stators were a pretty big problem on these early models? Would hate to see you button it up only to find out later the battery won’t charge. I think it’s a pretty big job to get access so maybe a good time to look into it. Hope I’m not sending you on a wild goose chase sorry if I’m wrong.
Thank you very much. I really appreciate your input. I will definitely check out the charging system.
I might have missed it, how many cc's is that wing?
I think it’s a 1000 but I’d have to look
