Oh, this is me!! I know I should not “red line” but I still do it all the time. It’s so hard to change your old behaviour patterns. I will remember that simple does not mean easy!
You got this ❤️
I find I do this every few months. When I thought about why it was happening, I realised that I have a pattern of finding my baseline and feeling good within it and then I raise my capacity a bit and still feel good but instead of plateauing there for a while, I can’t help but rush on to trying to increase my capacity again too soon. This just knocks me back.
Now that I have identified this pattern, I am really going to be mindful of it happening again.
I’ve been grappling with this since 1994. Today I did a slow indoor bike ride for 10 mins and felt exhausted afterwards. I thought I was over it at one time although my stress response and feeling of resilience hasn’t come back. Thank you Toby for your work.
You're welcome ❤️
Thank you , through my tears….It comforts me so much to know it’s ok to go through a messy learning process….Ash and Toby…thank you ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
It’s so comforting hearing an Aussie voice, knowing recovery is coming, in simple terms
Knowing when to go and knowing when to slow is the key to getting out of this ?
Glad it was helpful! That’s one aspect yes but then it’s about progression plan and Maitenance months! Phases and stages of recovery! Download the free trainings in the description of this video to help you get started!
Simple doesn't mean it's easy..... Going to give it another try but with some extra attention on my enthusiasm now
Thank you very much for your help!
You can do it!
Oh man, that's so true! As soon as I have some energy, I plunge straight into trying to make up for lost time.
Thanks totally resonate ! Much gratitude to your informative and insightful message’ 💪🏼🙏💜
Glad it was helpful!
Would love a video on energy input 🙏🏼
Thank you.
I'm going to go through some of you're other videos.
Completely relatable.
I got diagnosed with M.E when I was 14, almost 31 years ago, back when they still called it the yuppie flu 🙄
I was practically bed ridden for 3 months apart from the odd day where I'd go see my horse.
My mother would spoon feed me and I'd only eat quarter Weetabix a day or half Beans on toast, for about 6 ish week then appetite would be on and off.Doctor did random test, still one day mother demanded the doctor come out and I was hospitalized . They thought I was anorexia or balimic - I weighed about 4 1/2 stone...( I loved food), then they confirmed M.E. and a child I was very hyper active tbh I still am and so constantly crashing and burning, getting better then going all guns blazing. And yeah it is who I am 😂 and it's a nightmare and a massive inconvenience to my life, even more so in recent years as 6 months ago I've been confirmed prei-menopausal and that too isn't fun 🙄 so am massively struggling with energy. I don't know if you've covered anything both M.E and peri combined, I've not seen or read anything anywhere but guessing I'm not alone when I say I feel support is required in this area and would be massively appreciated.
Thanks for sharing! Glad you're finding the videos helpful ❤️
Love it! Thanks for sharing this ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thoughts have kept me stuck in my old patterns and cycles. Just understanding thoughts are just thoughts and not always true changed the way i reacted to those old patterns and cycles. Questioning the negative thoughts helped me out of those old ways of thinking. I agree its not easy but it most definitely works the more you are curious the more you will understand that change is possible. 🙂🙏🦋😇
As insightful as this is, it’s also very sad to accept that you are not you essentially. You have to accept this new person that you are now.
It is almost frightening how you
manage to describe my exact situation. have had 2 setbacks in a period of 12 months. I feel like learned a lot of what I shouldn't be doing, which makes me quite
confident and aware now! Third time is the charm right?
How important is maintaining your level of capacity in stage 2/3 of recovery? I am slowly building my capacity. am able to walk a kilometer or cycle 6 km right now and slowly building this up in addition with doing more house tasks. Should just maintain this level of capacity for a while?
Thank you! I love the CFS Health podcast!
Thanks Alexandre, Glad to hear that ❤️
Great episode.
Thanks Glad you liked it ❤️
Really helpful thanks
Glad it helped
Thank you Toby for sharing this video,I needed to hear this today.😅
Thanks Sandy, Glad it was helpful 🙌
Why do I red line ? because I am so frikken sick of lying around doing frikken nothing, that when I feel a teeny bit good, I go do some very very light gardening (potter ) , and the whole next day I am in bed with PEM. I just want to do something , not nec make up for lost time. The sweet spot for me is resting all the time apart from feeding myself and having a bath..sounds liek i should just stick to that anyway and not do more until i have stabalised well and truly. so hard !!
Agree, have not been good at reading my body, but with use of a smart watch I can monitor stress, exercise level, sleep, hydration, heart rate, heart rate value and have known when not to push. I know I will not get to the levels before CFS started, but currently feel in control, with health and activity.
Sorry, but what is a heart rate value?
HRV heart rate value, time between when heart finishes the pump and starts on the next
What if you never can stabilize?becazse i tried the last 3 months ans because i am not sleeping my body is going to get weaker and weaker
What can I do ? I have bad anxiety . Please.
