Wow! this has changed so much since our visit in 2000. I predicted back then that the whole place would have fallen in on itself within 10-15 years. They are doing a great job of restoring. I had a similar fall on Portage Glacier in Alaska when the boot lace of one boot caught on the hook of the other boot and locked up my feet. The result was a face plant into the glacier causing a bloody face.
Ouch! That must’ve hurt so bad 😣 sorry to hear that happened to you. I’m glad Kennecott is looking better now than in 2000. It’s worth saving since it’s pretty much left the way it was in 1938 besides all the collapsed buildings. A great piece of history.
Kennecotte Mines was very cool but very scary.The drone footage was awesome. First of all sorry for the fall on Root Glacier. The Glacier is stunning, and the blue color pool looked amazing Your drone footage was spectacular. You guys are very lucky, and it did look on your faces that you are actually in a different world 😊 Thank you so much for sharing this video 😊
We are so glad we made the trip to this area of Alaska, it was completely worth it! No biggie on the fall, the bruising and small cuts healed up quickly. I really love the drone footage here. Take a drone and look around with it because they do change where they are because they can melt a hole and drain out and one form somewhere else
