Nice work!! Excellent video!! You always do an amazing job! Thank you for taking the time to bring us along. Looking forward to the next episode!!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! Hopefully have the next episode out here soon. Cheers!
Thanks for posting, looking forward to the finished product....
Thanks for watching. Cheers!
I think you're setting yourself up for success. It's always easier starting fresh vs working within the constraints of fixing issues as they come up. I bet building that base/floor from new will be just as fast as patching the old one. Great work, keep it up
Thank you! Yeah it’s definitely better starting fresh and it’s going much better than I thought!
I’d be more than a little panicked 😆 but if anyone can handle this, it’s you. Enjoying the series and looking forward to the ongoing progress!
Thanks for the vote of confidence! Things are coming along nicely and looking forward to sharing the next installment! Cheers Donald!
Got our hopes up restoring that door so well then dropped a bomb cutting to the shot of the entire bottom of the camper ripped out! Keep it up man, gonna be ridiculous actually camping in that thing some day!
Oh believe me, got my hopes up too haha. Thanks for tuning in! Cheers.
Nice work man! Can’t wait to see it all come together
Thank you! I’m itching to get to using it.
Good luck on the project
Thank you!
I have fixed motorcycle fairings with epoxy before. It works great, the secret is to lay wire mesh into the back or some fiber glass fabric.
Good tips!
Keep at it. I have been looking for a project one so this is good learning!
Thanks for watching!
Wow im really interested to see how you redo that floor, I have a 2003 Six Pac camper and I know some day this will be me 😅 I just subscribed to support 🤙
May have the next video up this weekend! So you’ll find out shortly! Thanks for tuning in and subscribing!
Always looks worse before it gets better. Probably too late, but once you dropped that floor, could you just replace that top piece horizontal piece on each side and put it back in place? Looks like most of the rot was on that, and the floor...darn gravity. Doubling up the floor and to fix that section you cut out sounds good. Making it bigger/taller, seems too daunting to me, but I have confidence you could figure it out if you want to spend your time there.
I decided to rebuild the whole thing. The original was held together with staples and would have been a pain to take the side wings off. I think it’s gonna turn out pretty good!
I can't believe how much wood four wheel campers use. For the price of a new one it should be all aluminum and composite, nothing to rot.
Overland explorer vehicles does that and it adds a lot more cost. Talking an FWC at mid $30’s to an OEV which start in like the $50’s
The wood isn’t an issue, it’s maintenance and proper care that is. When taken care of properly, these campers can go 30 years before any major problems. Plenty of old FWC out there
Could be worse. At least you have the top part pretty solid. Just take your time and copy the dimensions to your truck needs. I worry about rot here in Miami, but i am considering a Capri.
Build is already done. Turned out well.
Water intrusion or humidity/moisture is an issue for any camper unless you live in southern Cali or the southwest.
Knowing what you know now, after building your last topper and wedge. Would you just build one of these from the ground up? Thanks for the content and I look forward to seeing your next update.
I considered building my own from scratch but it would be a massive project. Starting with this shell is saving me a lot of time over building from scratch. Thanks for watching!
What a project! It'll be the way you want it now though. Is that an E82 I spy in the garage? I work at a BMW shop in Portland, so it caught my eye.
Yes it is indeed a project! A big one lol. Yeah that’s my E82, love it.
@@pnwxplore I have a 2 owner (orig and me) 2002 325xi manual car that is my daily. If you ever need any tech help let me know.
I think you're a lot like me. It's not always that you take on huge projects or even underestimate the amount of work thay will be involved. It's mostly just overestimating the ability to not fix everything while you're in there.
Yeah that’s pretty much it haha. I’m too particular and it’s hard to not just correct things, plus things nag at me if I don’t address it
That was very well said brother!
How old is your camper. ?
It’s a 2002
