  • Does the Circle of 5ths confuse you?
    What do all the alphabet letters mean?
    Why is it set up like a wheel or clock?
    What does a I IV V I chord progressions mean?
    What does major and minor mean?
    What does major and minor sound like?
    Why is there a black box or fence around only specific chords?
    Why does the chord wheel turn?

    I've watched a dozen videos on people trying to explain this, and this is the first one that I actually understand. Thank you!

    The last chord after A minor is B diminished (B-D-F).
    B major is B-D#-F# and B minor is B-D-F# (of course if you stick to C major) on keyboard.
    Good work !

    Excellent lesson on using the wheel. I have one and it's been a great tool for changing the key of songs to fit my voice. How do you use it when transposing Minor Keys?

    Great video thanks! Quick quetion, why is there also the Major E and D that are in darker box in the wheel? Is it becasue the 'ii' and 'vi' chords can also be played major in a given key? Does anyone know?

    • @susanniekampstudiosinc.7416
      @susanniekampstudiosinc.7416  Před 11 měsíci

      Good question. The Major D in the lighter grey box is saying it is the Major II (2) and that it is also the V of V the 5 of 5. D is the 5 of G. G is the 5 of C (the key we are in)
      It is showing the E major in a great box because it is the V of vi. The 5 of 6. Am is the minor 6 and E is the 5 of A. It’s just showing relations to each other. You can play the D minor or Major and the E minor or Major.

    Great! but I just would like to know what vocal notes I sing for certain keys ?

    • @susanniekampstudiosinc.7416
      @susanniekampstudiosinc.7416  Před 9 měsíci

      Hello! Your vocal range determines what pitches you can sing not what key your in. Many keys cross over and use the same pitches.

    Great video! How come augmented chords aren't on the wheel? (I'm new at this)

    • @samstamos427
      @samstamos427 Před 8 měsíci +4

      The chords that are formed "in key" are called "diatonic", in that all of the notes in the chords of the scale (chord progression) are in the key. An augmented triad chord is different in that it is "non-diatonic" to the major scale. An augmented chord has a sharpened 5th, 1,3,#5. In the key of C, the #5 is a G#, which does not naturally occur in the C Major Scale. There are other scales, like the Harmonic Minor, which does include an augmented chord in its natural progression, and thus an augmented chord would be "diatonic" to that particular scale. Cheers..
