Hahaha seeing Otto in the cockpit killed me
Great to see you still enjoying it. Be great to keep this going! I do same as you, switching airlines pretty frequently. Currently with JetBlue.
Just picked up APL2, and have been watching your videos. Many thanks!
Just sent a friend request in-game!
I just started working for the same airline!!🔥
one of your smoothest landings yet
Purely accidental Dax!
hi, just stumbled upon your vid. The trigger for taxiing is flaps up. Took me a long time to figure it out. This happen to me when I start to put flaps up when im still rolling on the runway. Wait to be under 25knts before rectracting flaps
Congratulations mate! An awesome achievement and so we’ll deserved, especially after that buttery landing.
Try leaving the flaps extended until passing the holding point at the runway exit. It may be that’s why you’re getting the taxi over speed?
Cheers Nick. Yeah I'll try that. I've been doing a bit of research and the answer appears to be once you pass 30 don't go back over it
@@KiwiMace Yep. I'm pretty sure that you can trundle down the RWY after landing over 30, but once you dip under it, don't go back over it. I also don't throw my taxi lights on until I'm well on the taxiway. I think chucking them on before exiting can screw things up a bit, as the programme gets confused between the lights going on, if you're on the RWY still & your speed in relation to both of those. I've got 100 in all but one of my last 4 or 5 flights, but then - as you know - I'm almost perfect in real life too.
@@Stwutter1973 Thanks Alan. I'd had forgotten your perfection therefore hadn't factored that in.....
@@KiwiMace You're welcome. Reminding people of this has never done any harm, with the exception of most of the people I've ever met.
I just finished my 1st week. Not happy with the job offered I was given so going to stay with my current contract with Tunisair in the A330. I wanna save up for the A320 license. The current job offers were all just 1 or 2 routes in my AC license or a handful of short flights under 1000nm and I thought that'd get boring for a full week. I'm a few hundred away from the A320.
How do you enable A pilots life 2 to recognize when MSFS is connected? I have both running but it never shows connected to simbit world. The server to simbit world shows green but it’s not connecting to MSFS. Thank you for your advice.
Hey man, it should automatically happen when you have MSFS running. I'd suggest jumping on the Simbitworld discord and the developer will be able to give some guidance. Here's the link discord.com/invite/UgwbNvB
Gidday mate, Chris here in Palmy…..funny vids…..hey do you have any idea why the pilots life program will not connect with fs2020? I think it’s to do with the fact the fsuipc7 for some reason will not connect with fs….I’ve reloaded fsuipc7 several times, no luck. When I first got a pilots life it was all good…..weird….any thoughts appreciated
Hey Chris, hope you are well. Could be a few reasons, I'd recommend checking out Simbitworld's Discord - there is sure to be someone with the issue with an answer. Go to simbitworld dot com and look at the bottom of the page for the discord link.
@@KiwiMace thx Mace will do
How do you connect this app to your simulator?
Hey , it connects automatically when you have your sim running
do you have to fly the proper aircraft for the route?
Hi Ian, no you actually don’t. I do, just to keep the realism aspect but the program doesn’t actually check to see if you’re using the designated aircraft.
@@KiwiMace Thanks for all your replys :)
best career addon?
What do you enjoy the most - airliners or General Aviation?

What’s the difference between XP and Score?
Hi Mika, Your score is how well you flew a particular flight (all flights are rated out of 100). XP or experience points you accumulate after each flight and you get promoted once you hit certain levels of XP
@@KiwiMace oh no I meant what calculates XP compared to score. Why is XP a different number to score?
Ah right. Well, your score is capped at 100 whereas XP you earn can be more than that (XP takes into account factors such as the length of flight). However, your score affects the XP you earn on a flight - for example a flight from Sydney to Auckland might earn you 150XP if you score 100/100 but if you score, say, 94/100 then the XP you would earn would be less than that. Hope that makes sense?
@@KiwiMace yes it did make sense! I saw the manual today (I live in Sydney so it’s not too far of a Timezone from you) and I think I found out
If you get a 100 score but you flew short haul (2,600nmi), then you’ll earn +20% from your score as XP
I think that’s how it goes. I used the nautical miles measurement from other sources so I don’t know about APL’s terms of haul length
And you can also buy XP through buying training from the store, but it’s super expensive
If you don’t know I can’t buy APL yet because I need a new PC for MSFS which costs $3k, and I’m on the disability pension so it’ll take until the end next year at least. It sucks
We all know you keep changing airlines to make sure you don't get caught not having the proper flying credentials. LOL!!!
Hopefully they wont catch on!
@@KiwiMace I decided to give this a shot so we'll see how it goes. Gotta find an airline willing to hire me. Hehehe...
So I see you only get paid by an hour no bonusses nothing and all that 40h of flight gave you $1140?? it looks like a lot of grind. And no salary increase after promotion!!! leave them go to someone who pays more!!😁😁
Yeah it's not really about the pay, more about working your way through the ranks. You can buy boosts via the store but they aren't huge.
@@KiwiMace I bought it I did 2 flights it's going to be a long way until first officer but I like it. One thing I dont understand I bought airbus license and I took short distance schedule ( maybe that was my mistake )because they sent me to an airport without ILS and I can't land without this because I'm noob. So it was like a direct gps flight and landing was a nightmare. Maybe I shouldn't take short dist schedule maybe its for small planes?
Yeah it kind of expects you to be able to land either visually or via ILS. Longer flights are probably more likely to send you to an airport with ILS capability so probably a good plan
