Thoughts 👇Buying a Wired ebike? Using our link supports Ebike Escape: wiredebikes.com/?sca_ref=4626879.xquaFZljq4 (affiliate link)
You can't buy that version anymore. The new version, same price comes with a 45amp controller, a higher output motor, 206mm four piston brakes front and back and an added 15 Amp 60 volt battery that fits between the rack and back fender.
I believe the suspension bars are thicker as well, has a newer LCD with better dial in for pas modes.
Yep, looks like they just updated it.
@@EbikeEscape Yep, been out for a month now, over 10% more power and 50% more range.
I have the 2024 in titian orange, so far I love it.
@@EbikeEscape It's been updated for some time now... I pulled the trigger weeks ago on the dual battery version, 45amp potted controller, 3200w peak motor setup. I know videos take a while to film, edit, upload, etc. but tech moves fast... worth the double check before uploading if you want to become an authority, IMO.
Disappointed. Your screenshot shows the most recent version of the bike. You are reviewing the previous model that is unavailable. At best this is just not smart. At worst, it’s intentional bait and switch
No bait and switch intended. Our thumbnail designer pulled the wrong image - it's corrected now and apparently they just launched the new version.
No worries. The new version was announced over a month ago, with several videos out with the prototype. Mine arrives on Tuesday! Guess I was just excited for additional info. This review of the previous model is thorough and well done. It’s obvious that a lot of time and effort went into it. Looking forward to your future videos
Yeah! I thought it was the new updated version. 🥲
Mine is coming on the 8th!
As in the other comments , this is the early 2024 model not the current model
latest model has a rear second battery as seen on your thumbnail. the one you are reviewing is not that current version on your thumbnail.
Just updated our thumbnail - designer used the wrong one. Apologies.
My first ebike was himiway, just bought this wired freedom. 5-6 days a week. 40 plus miles for 3 years almost everyday. My himiway over 15000 miles in 3 years. I golf ball hunt at night so i go pavement to the fairways alot. Have a extra battery i use. I hope this cuts my ride time down a bit, lots of hills. But if you look at wausau in wisconsin i go to merrill, mosinee, ringle alot. Next weekend to minocqua camping. If you would like a real world review get ahold of me. I havent driven a car in 2 years lol
Why post a video for an old version that is no longer available???
This is the old version, the new one has been out for a few months now
How will I be able to mount rear cargo basket to the rear rack if there will be second battery in the new model will there be enough space in between the battery and the rack for the mounting screws ?
I hope Wired sends you a new cruiser model for review, it would be a better fit. The new bikes peak at 3200 watts and are noticeably more powerful than the previous models. Your concerns about bike classes and legality are well founded. However, these bikes appeal to older adults and look like regular bikes as opposed to kids riding Surrons or e moped type bikes. We old guys don’t want to wheelie, but would like to be able to keep up with traffic when needed for safety. 750watts and 28mph is just arbitrary and makes little sense given most streets are 30-35mph speed limits. If you keep it under 30mph on public roads and are responsible on bike paths, you will never have an issue. Wired has a very efficient business model and is packing in enormous value at competitive prices. They are buying large quantities of bikes which keeps the prices low but demand is so high that they sell out most batches before they are made. They provide outstanding customer service with the Owners handling the calls directly. As opposed to all those Chinese brands or the big impersonal brands, Wired seems focused on providing outstanding customer service … and it’s in English! Wired does zero marketing and has no direct social media presence, all their energy is on design, fulfillment, and customer service.
Couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Surrons and such are definitely a different class. Which model do you have? Have you gotten to ride the new model?
I have the original V1 Freedom from May of 2023, but have had the opportunity to ride all of the bikes and several prototypes because I happen to live a mile from one of the owners and he has asked my opinion on several bikes. I have tried the full suspension Cruiser prototype with the new drivetrain and immediately put in my order. The combination of 26x4 tires with full suspension and a really powerful drivetrain is a game changer. The guys that own Wired are independently wealthy outside of the bike business so they have no investors or bank interest to pay so with their efficient model and large orders they can still make a profit while offering such great value. The new thru axle and 203mm rotors and four piston brakes makes the bike that much safer and the extra 1000 watts and 15ah rear battery is pretty astounding considering they have kept the price the same.
Wheres the link to the over ride panel walk through? Can you disable the throttle??
Here is a link to the manual: www.szktdz.com/upload/file/20180814/20180814091428_61636.pdf
I also walk you through how to do it @23:01
That's the old version
That's a cool bike!
I would not be able to ride this bike on the bike paths in my town. Sad.
When you boys bringing those bikes to lacrosse so we can all get out on the rail trail with these bikes?
Ha, don't make it that direction too often but there are some nice trails there!
@@EbikeEscape think it's time for a road trip boys
There’s a new plus model…………
Can you put a baby seat on it?
It's possible but I think there are some better options that are more made for child seats
Must be an old video. You not talking about the correct video. Some of your info is incorrect. Realized about 1/8 of the way through.
A new one has been launched with some updates
The battery isnt UL certiified.
I thought it was: wiredebikes.com/blogs/news/wired-ebikes-leading-the-charge-with-certification-to-ul-2849
@@EbikeEscape yeah this was a big fiasco.. Unfortunately the company never posted their certification and then showed it was UL standards.. Also users complaining of this czcams.com/video/ewcqkW6pzWU/video.html
Will watch that shortly.
Always appreciate the info. Is this not the cert: www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/1p72swl0fgpsy14haakda/Full-test-report.pdf?rlkey=dsw92ligz035yhlrz3bhjq0gg&e=1&dl=0
I checked into it a bit before saying that in the video. It looked legit.
@@EbikeEscapenope that is SGS testing and not UL certification. Sadly.
So glad i pulled the trgger on my Ecells 5Star Dual Star in early May 2024.. The 5 Star General Commands The Field.
Bro... EVERYONE THIS BIKE IS DISCONTINUED FROM WIRED.
Stay connected with EV is a fake reviewer who buys fake subs and views. More subs than Tailhappy with only 700k total views. He is a slanderous troll who has it in with Wired and is working with the ex con owner of the competition.
So lame. You're reviewing the old style that is completely obsolete. And yes you babble way too much!!
Ur neg...go away
