North Liverpool was always crying out for imaginative re-stimulation. Geoffrey: you know what they say about assuming. The Regent Road wall isn't actually EFC's to maintain. That might be a shock but true. EFC have been allowed to make the cut-though's but other than relaying the wall as best they can, that's the end of their direct responsibility. I absolutely agree that you'd hope they clear the plant life from the Tower Gates etc, as the plants will only degrade the stonework further, and even IF it's not EFC's responsibility, you'd imagine that the Heritage Stakeholders would want at least to protect the assets rather than let them slide further and you'd like to think that EFC would want it sorted so as to stop a poor reflection on the stadium. But the Heritage Stakeholders have been truly uninspired and only interested in sticking in their claws. Whatever, you'll have to let your dream of flags on top fade away.

    • @davidbadcock2225
      @davidbadcock2225 Před 11 dny +3

      HTBT: I'm going to write the short answer here as I've written a longer version numerous times in the last month or so in relation to the difference between the Standing Seam roof and the barrel-cladding finishes: The Standing-seam roof material is naturally-anodised aluminium. What that means is that it's manufactured aluminium that is allowed to react with whatever, naturally. In simple terms aluminium will adsorb oxygen from the air to produce a layer of Aluminium Oxide (Al2 O3) on the surface, which has a slightly different colour and opacity to pure aluminium. When it's produced in sheets they're rolled up in reels, which means that the surface is not exposed to air, and the reels are produced at different times, meaning the Aluminium has had different lengths of time for exposure. Therefore, over time, it will all naturally even out to be the same colour and degree of 'matt' finish. Because that will happen, it's NOT actually of significant importance to keep all the same aged reels adjacent to each other. It's only droners who will capture that differential just now but it'll merge before the stadium is used, even though no one will be any the wiser on the ground or using the stadium.
      I hope that satisfies your curiosity.

      Mark: parking and ferries keep cropping up as Q's.
      1) Re Ferry: There is no financial justification for building a new Ferry Terminal just for BMD. End of.
      2) Re Car Parking: The whole project is designed to be forward-looking with sustainability and 'green' priorities. This means that car parking is being dissuaded and the use of public transport, and human power (walking, cycling etc) is to be encouraged. Whilst it's possible that car parks may pop up at currently unknown locations as a result of 3rd party private speculation, it won't be due to public investment or BMD-focused planning.

      Neither really, There won't be any Everton badges or logos on the outside of the stadium itself as it's in a heritage area.

    Hi Nick, another great video. Just a quick question : every time you do a fly round, I notice there seems to be only one entrance for match day traffic as all other entrances seem to be the grey metal pedestrian entrances and with all the fan zones being vehicle free . So my question is, will there be another match day vehicle exit, i.e., team coachers , trademen vehicles ,ie TV companies.???

    • @JayEFC1969

      Vehicles enter via North turret gate & exit via South turret gate - one way system typically in place.

    • @davidbadcock2225
      @davidbadcock2225 Před 11 dny +3

      Keith: no. The NE vehicular access will be the one used for entrances and exits, on match days. There will be no vehicular movements for one hour either side of the match at all. There will be only very limited, authorised vehicle movements for 2 hrs either side of the match. The SE gates will be used ONLY by emergency vehicles as an exit, if required on match-days. On non-match-days there will be much more slack cut with vehicles allowed to use the SE gates as exits. All broadcasters' vehicles will arrive on site the day before the match or more than a couple of hours ahead in order to set up properly. All catering provisions, etc., will also have had all stock supplied well in advance and certainly not within 2 hrs of the match.

      John: yes, they've dug the pit for the next stretch of the ArborSystem. They will have to dig a bit further still yet, towards the NE corner, but can't yet as there is still a busy T-Junction for vehicles there currently. The plans shows 13 Columnar Elms in the line. Currently we have 6.

      Mike: Jay is exactly right but in addition Dan Meis, the architect, wanted the ground to have some of the feel of a generically-grown stadium, so he designed each of the stands to be a little different and not a sterile, perfect regular shape (which included the terracing bowl).

    • @davidbadcock2225
      @davidbadcock2225 Před 10 dny

      @@sunscreemer Mark: There are no designs, plans or drawings that support them being anything other than a temporary measure. However, there is a possible clue to be had, even if if doesn't make a lot of sense.
      In the plans there are thin gaps between seat sections that travel up-and-down directly from the sides of the higher wide Accessibility Platform on the Lower Tier of the East Stand, between the Tiers division level and the Accessibility platform at the pitch side. It was probably a rail of some sorts acting as a division between the Hospitality seats and the GA's.
      However, if you pause this video at 12:49 mins, when looking directly at the middle of the East Stand terracing, you can see the aforementioned thin gap at the left/northern edge of the higher Accessibility platform but not at the right/southern edge. It's actually located in the middle of the next seating section to the right/south and neither of the gap lines travels don to the pitchside. Suddenly the seats across the stairways makes a little sense in that it at least indicates the line of the bottom of the boxed area created by the vertical gaps mentioned. It all seems very odd and if it's permanent one has to wonder what on earth was so important or so 'wrong' that they had to change the plans to something that might seem illogical and untidy.
